So I went here first time 2013. They kept my glasses for me until 2014. I did not want to accept the fact I needed to wear glasses… After sitting down talking with Nick and browsing the selections he assisted me in making a selection I learned to love. So I go in today 2 years later to get new glasses and exam the Dr. makes the exam a pleasant experience that I will look forward to next year. NICK my man! is awesome. The diva collection they carry are elegant and classy that embraces the beautiful feminine quality of us ladies. I look forward to my eye exam appointment at that place BTW… I have never worked here I just know good people and good customer service… Your loyal customer. Mia W.

I am new to the area and asked where I should go since I needed to see a optometrist. Hands down I was told to come here. From the minute you walk in you are provided outstanding customer service. I am a first time patient today but I will be a return patient. My son and I both satisfied with our experience today which was provided by the entire team 5 stars hands down!!!

By far my favorite optometrist office. This office is full of great energy. Very clean and the staff here is super friendly. Dr. Sladky is easy to talk to and Nick is comforting and informative. Quite the dynamic duo. I look forward to every visit.

Is there a Negative star?
My family and myself have been patients at Eyelusions for almost 8 years. After the experience I had today we will NEVER return. While the service I have received over the years has never been stellar, the convenience and my desire to support local businesses has driven my continued support. Today I finally was called to pick up my contact lenses, after 3 months, and when I did I was treated rudely and unprofessionally by the two young girls running the place, when I asked to speak to Dr. Sladkey I was told «he aint here and he can’t help.» I asked when he might be returning and was told «maybe tomorrow» This exchange was all a result of me asking for a detailed explanation of benefit charges and out of pocket charges. I was told that the prices are what they are to «keep our doors open, «well not on my dime any longer. Thinking the cost was higher then standard I called several offices around the pocket area and found that what I was charged was 85−90% higher than the going rate in the area. I will never return to this office and recommend you look around for others, there seem to be many nice offices in the pocket area, one of which will have my support and hard earned money from now on.
P. S. it looks as if many of the reviews posted raving about this place are individuals who work or have worked at the office in the pas, as I recognize their faces, very unfortunate.

As a patient we have many choices around Sacramento to give us eye exams and to purchase our eyeware. You’ve earned me as a returning patient and given me a thorough exam along with a huge choice of high quality eyeware. I thank you for taking care of my seeing needs. Dr. Sladky is the best Optometrist. He is personable, he explains everything he’s doing so it makes sense, he’s patient and he’s pretty funny too. The office is always nice and neat and clean. Every time My daughters and I go in we have a GREAT time and feel like we are definitely getting our money’s worth when it comes to care. They have a lot of awesome stylish glasses and sunglasses. My daughters are 10 and 12 and they always get excited about their eye doc appointment. We have been patients of Dr. Sladky for 8 years and would be lost if we had to see a different Optometrist for some STRANGE reason.

I called my insurance company, and the California Department of Ophthalmology to express my concerns about this organization. Apparently, patients have «no» recourse under the current Ethics Code for Ophthalmologists in the State of California, (even though a n exam and a prescription is required to obtain this medical equipment, and it is often covered by insurance…).and the «Doctor» does not have to be responsible to their patients to ensure quality of care. for their VISION… The website showed that he was late paying his fees for one of his permits. Buyer beware.

Great customer service! I called and was able to get both my children’s eyes checked the next day. The Optometrist Assistant entertained the kids while they waited to see the Optometrist. Found out my daughter needed a light prescription for reading and was told her glasses would be ready in 5 days. I was called the following day to pick up her new glasses, talk about fast! No hassle of waiting for an appointment, and pleasant service. Definitely work driving from Elk Grove.

Best optometrist around! If you want the best eye exam you can get, with or without insurance, this is your place! They have a huge selection, so much to choose from you can’t go wrong! Doesn’t matter if you’re rich or just scraping by, there’s something for everyone here!

Dr. Sladky has been taking care of our whole family’s eyes for the past 4+ years. I can’t recommend the office enough! Our daughter has been in glasses since she was 4 and she’s turning 9 this month. The team of Dr. Sladky’s awesome «bedside manner» and Nick’s patience/​friendliness is just amazing. We actually moved to San Ramon two years ago but still come back every year for our glasses!

I have always had a good experience going to this optometrist. I believe they are fairly price and I was having an eye issue due to contacts and he has never once charged me to see him. I always get my glasses quickly and if I run out of contacts they are more than willing to give me a loaner pair. Thanks Dr Sladky, and your wonderful employees you have. I will be seeing you soon!

The doctor visit was pleasant. Dr. Sladky, was very helpful in explaining what he was doing. However, the store itself, I do not recommend. The selection is poor, and the service is great until you pay, then they couldn’t care less about you. I had a problem and they were very dismissive, patronizing and unapologetic regarding an error they themselves had made.
Glasses are an expensive and long-​term purchase. In the future, I will go elsewhere for my glasses, and unfortunately for Dr. Sladky, I’ll have to go to another doctor. I did not get contacts from them and will definitely not be because I no longer trust them.
In short — there are too many options available to customers to accept sub-​par service. Especially for such an important purchase.

I really like Dr. Sladky the Optometrist, I’ve used him twice for eye exams and he’s very thorough. I’m diabetic, so he goes the extra mile to check my eyes, and when he asks if I can «see better» with one rx or another during the eye check, he likes being told if I am feeling an eye strain even though he knows it’s a clear view. He explains everything, uses new tools and equipment. For example, he has upgraded some of his equipment since my last visit. I also like that he checks focus and color brightness reactions in various tests. He’s very friendly and endearing. I recommend him a lot to other coworkers, because I know they take our insurance, and the eye exam would normally cost $ 99 (for me it is $ 10. That’s cheaper than at Costco.) And he didn’t auto-​dilate my eyes, I’m a dilator, so he said «Nice, I don’t have to do drops, so you won’t have any blurriness after the exam.» Loved. Everyone else has dilated my eyes and I have to wait awhile before I can drive again.
I also really like the main optician, Nick. He is definitely a salesman, but there’s no slick. He’s going to notice your eyes, he stares at your face and helps pick out nice shaped glasses, he’s got a phenomenal eye for shape and cut. Also, we talked about Luxotica — -He SAID he carries NO Luxotica frames, which is interesting since they are a huge world monopoly (and if you go to Lens Crafters, Sunglasses Hut, or bought a pair of fancy frames, you bought Luxotica). I ended up with Paul Frank frames, I love them, they are made in America. I almost went for a pair designed by Converse which had STITCHING ON THE FRAME! I kid you not. So cute.
He understands insurance plans, keeps up to date on upgrades (for example, he recommended I upgrade our state insurance plan in October during open enrollment because then it will cover $ 200 of my frames as opposed to just $ 75, my current standard plan.) I also mentioned I’d like a second pair, as my current glasses are a color I’m not as keen on as I was 2 years ago, and I’d like an extra pair since I’m a mom and have kids who grab at my face. He said if I found a pair of $ 39 frames online, he’d work with me to get a pair of his overstock/​cheaper frames, and he explained some of the things (that I was afraid of) with buying online. For example, I have a very round face, and I need to try on ALL glasses because I have to have lenses that will actually fit across and not make me look squeezed. True. That’s been a problem. Also, I need to get my glasses tightened often, beyond what I can do with my own teeny tools. Also, where my pupils hit and focus is very important. While the online guys ASK for that info, he actually marks it on the lenses.
There you go. That’s why I like Eyelusions.
Also, they have a Keurig and decent Columbian coffee k cups.

They did not produce my new glasses in the time they had assured me. I had no option but to have glasses made at LensCrafters before I left the country on a long trip, which was very expensive. The eye doctor personally apologized and said he would reimburse me for my expense. I sent him a receipt. It has been two months and I have yet to see a dime. I won’t be back.

I woke up one Saturday morning at 4am in so much pain in one of my eyes. It was the weirdest thing and felt like something was in it but I didn’t see anything. I also recently moved to the pocket area and this was the closest optometrist in my area that opened up early so I walked in and asked if they take walk ins they said no but since they could see I was in so much pain the doc took me in and examined my eye. He assured me that he didn’t see an infection or anything going on so maybe I pulled a muscle. Gave me two different types of drops one to flush my eye out and the other to keep it moist. He also didn’t charge me a dime! Super sweet and so glad he took me in I was so worried that something severe was really wrong with my eye but in a day the pain did go away so maybe it was really just a pulled muscle. I got lasik a couple of years ago but if I ever need anything I will definitely go back to give him my business!

When I called to complain about the terrible service I received, I left a message for the optometrist. It has been four weeks and I have not received a call back from him. Additionally, I had requested that the frames I liked be ordered in a color other than the one on display at the store. Again, it has been four weeks and I have not heard from them regarding that order. I have since found another optometrist who sells the frames. Even though this doctor does not accept my insurance and I will have to pay much more out of pocket for the frames, I will be purchasing my frames from Eyes on J Optometry (where they are VERY helpful, courteous, and are able to return phone calls and keep me updated about my order.)

I ordered my sunglasses on March 11^th… still not here on April 16^th. They say they’ll be here tomorrow… but who knows? I leave on vacation at 6 a.m. which is what I bought them for.
I have another older pair of sunglasses… but I bought the Juicy Cotour just for this vacation. Very sad indeed.
Nick called me… but it was the first time. and it was today. Oh sure… he offered to «drive into the office from Lincoln to make me a single vision pair»…but on Sat. when I called him he offered to drive and pick them up.
Never ever got em. Got my money back though.

If you want an «experience» of an eye exam and lenses purchase, come here. Their office staff is friendly, eccentric and loaded with dry sarcasm jokes, all of which suit my just fine. Then I had my appointment with the doc, who was also just as eccentric and funny. The frame selection they have available is on point with current trends, and you walk out the door about $ 100 – 400 richer than you would if you went to Lenscrafters.
So in short, top 5 reasons to go here:
1) They do good work;
2) They are cost effective
3) They’re funny as all get out, even when I was grumpy from work;
4) They support current trends; and
5) You’re supporting a local business, not a giant monopoly/​chain.
