Had this for lunch today and it was mediocre at best. If you have ever been to Adalbertos it is essentially the same style Mexican food. I loved the large selection of food and the plate I ordered(bbq pork) was pretty darn good, but something was seriously wrong with the refried beans. They were watery and not the nice brown color of beans, but more like a clear watery color… not nice. The pork itself was very good and so was the rice, but the beans just ruined it for me. The staff was friendly enough and the restaurant is in good repair and clean. The location is not the best, but that did not seam to have an impact on the restaurant. I also feel like these kind of restaurants are over priced, but maybe it is just me? I can eat at a sit down Mexican restaurant La Mision and their lunch specials are like $ 5-$ 7 when this combo plate was $ 10. So I dunno… all I k ow is that I wasn’t blown away and I wasn’t disappointed. Maybe give it a shot!

Stopped in even though there were other higher rated Taquerias in the area,(namely La Fiesta but their chips are horrible, so they’re out for me). The menu is typical of most walk up service taquerias. Counter service was prompt. Chips were fresh and delicious! I like them thin and crispy and these fit the bill. Their salsa bar was good too, and very fresh. I ordered the Super Burrito wet, and it was $ 7.95, after adding sauce, cheese and tax it came to $ 10.30. It was excellent! The sauce was slightly smoky, and the burrito was big enough for 2 meals. I only give then 4 stars today because I asked for shredded beef, but received ground beef. I asked the clerk if they had shredded beef, and she said yes. I informed her that I had ordered ground beef. She corrected the girl that took my order but that was all. I will definitely return to this taqueria as the food tasted good and the order issue was probably just a minor oversight…

My mom works not too far from here so whenever I drop her off I HAVE to come by here. I’ve ate at most of the places others mentioned here and they suck compared to here. The carnitas are always on point. Try the carnita fries, you won’t be disappointed.

I came here and ordered food in the drive through at about two am. Only to realize I had been ripped off 10 bucks by looking at my receipt. I have her 37 for 27 dollar bill. I do have a few witnesses but was in a Hurry and didn’t have time to turn around. Management can contact me for further info! Besides that the food is amazing here!

Maybe I should not write a negative review based on one item one one day. We decided to get breakfast burritos on Sunday morning. First tried our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area– La Favorita on Florin, and it did not open until 9AM(it was about 8AM). Went thru the drive thru at El Forastero and ordered 3 Ham and egg burritos to go. I don’t tend to be a real picky eater, but these were so gross that all three of us ended up taking a couple of bites and throwing them away. I don’t honestly recall ever doing that. Wish I had taken pictures. The burritos were very large– and lots of meat and eggs– and some oily wet substance. The burritos fell apart they were so moist. Did not seem to have any spices or any taste whatsoever– just boiled tasteless ham and eggs. Like I said– possibly there other food is okay, but I don’t think I will take the chance since there are so many other good Mexican restaurants in the area. Service was fine; lady was nice — just the worst thing I had eaten in a long time.

Not sure why but this place is only good when I’m drunk… I came back during my lunch and the food taste really bland and lack favors. I’ll come back only when I’m drunk.

I’m so disappointed, was really craving carne asada fries so I decided to try it here and they messed up my order twice. Came home and it was still wrong with no sour cream. All I ask for was my guacamole on the side.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I’ve always had good service here and the food has always been good. My burritos have always been good and big for a reasonable price. The place is always clean, and restrooms are too. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quick Mexican meal. And they serve breakfast all day.

I find the food to be decent for a 24 hour place. They are fairly quick and always friendly. Pricing is average. I’m glad this place is here.

Good tasting Mexican food 24⁄7!!! Yes please! Sometimes the drive thru wait is long, but it’s worth it. The marinated pork is delicious in a super burrito.

DATCALIFORNIABURRITO, DOOOOE! My coworker was getting lunch at El Forastero and offered to bring me something. I didn’t know what they had so I just told him to bring me back one of whatever he was getting. He brought me back a surprisingly large Calfornia burrito. Usually when a menu item has«California» in the name it means there’s avocado in it– but in this case it means french fries. No worries, I’m all about the potato love! My lunch was a massive helping of tortilla-wrapped steak, potatoes, cheese and pico, and I topped it with some green salsa to give it the right amount of kick(the burrito was good but a tiny bit bland without the salsa). It was good but I was waddling around the office the rest of the day. El Forastero is a solid option the next time I’m craving a burrito of Chipotle proportions.

The Chips were good but I ordered the #15 which was a Burrito and taco combo. As I started to eat the burrito there was all of these juices started to come out of it as if it was a leaky faucet. I know that might sounds a bit over exaggerated but check out the picture. I didn’t add anything to my plate all of it came from the burrito.

1St time visitor & all parties were please. I ordered 2 chicken enchilada combo plates, a kids quesadillas meal, shrimp chimichanga combo plate, & a menudo(Sat night). Everything was delicious. I couldn’t give a 5star due to simple mistakes that were overlooked I guess. My chimichanga was more like a wet burrito with a chimichanga price. barely crispy, but all the while loaded with goodness. I am skeptical about eating menudo I don’t know about but I chanced it & it was filled with both hominy & tripe & the juice wasn’t thick with oil as some places make it. They did not a have a menudo ‘goodie bag’ with all the fixings tho. It only came with a very little dash of the dry green seasoning & even smaller dash of, what I think, was chile. Good thing I grabbed some limes, salsa & pico de gallo from the salsa bar cuz I desperately wanted cilantro & onions. It all came up to $ 44.06 which is a lot but look what I ordered @ a Mexican restaurant & all combos! Nice staff, clean & they’re open 24⁄7 so I know they’ll do well.

So my husband and I were in search of a lunch place that was on our Christmas shopping route. We stopped by El Forastero, which is in the same chain family of Carolina’s and Adalberto’s. We were taken aback by the strong smell of bathroom/toilet deodorizer… It appeared by the drying floor, they had just mopped the dining room, apparently with bathroom cleaner. It took a few minutes to be greeted, as the counter person was multitasking with the front counter and drive thru window. Once we were acknowledged, the cashier was very friendly and welcoming. The customer service at this place was great, the food, not so much. The rolled tacos were too hard to eat, and the beans were bland. The rice was also flavorless as well. Overall, I do not think I’ll be coming here again any time soon.

This place is like any other Mexican food resturant. Similar menu items to those who are fans of Carolina’s or Adalberto’s. My only gripe is the issue with their card reader. I’ve been here twice and both times they were able to take my card. But on my third visit, they weren’t able to use the machine because their manager wasn’t present. Kind of odd. This was late at night. But food wise it’s pretty good. If you want some Mexican food at a late hour, this place can roll with its competitors. Just bring cash to save you any hassle.
