Early Engineers

We absolutely loved Early Engineers this last school year! My son took it after school at Theodore Judah and he really looked forward to his class each week. Not only was it fun, but educational as well. After discussing what they were going to be building in class, he also walked away with a worksheet each week that showed him how to recreate the project at home and talked about what they built. Miss Christy, our instructor, was so great! So patient with the kids.
We will be returning next year!

My first grade daughter LOVES her Early Engineers classes. They are offered on her school’s site immediately after dismissal, so it’s super convenient.
Every session has a building theme. They have constructed trampolines using Lego bricks and rubberbands, wells, tree houses, and bridges. She has been in a multi-​week course and will miss it very much.
My issue with this company is that they are unorganized and no one ever seems to be on the same page, and it drives me crazy. I will spare the boring details. It’s been super annoying, though.
The people who teach the courses are GREAT with the kids! They are fun, and vibrant, and he children really seem to like the instructors.
Parents are allowed to visit during the last 5 minutes of the class.
Dismissal is totally safe. When I pick up my daughter, I have to sign her out. The kids are not allowed to leave with just anyone regardless if the kids are leaving with a parent, or if they have to go to 4^th R.
Overall, my kiddo LOVES her Early Engineers sessions, so that’s all that really matters. My issues with how they handle the few problems I have had won’t deter us from enrolling her again.

My daughter is in 2^nd grade and has been attending this class at her school for about two months now. She is really enjoying it and it has opened her eyes to new toys (mainly CitiBlocs) and new career possibilities — YAY!
My only complaint is the age grouping. My daughter is grouped with K-​2^nd kids and, in my opinion, kindergarten kids should have their own group or no class at all. They don’t have all of the skills for this class so they take the majority of the instructors time, which is very unfortunate. I think I will feel better about spending money on this class when my daughter has moved up to the next age group.

My son has attended early engineers since Kindergarten and is continuing in first grade. He absolutely loves it! Classes combine elements of science, physics and engineering in a fun and creative way. The instructors have been wonderful and are very caring. He also attended a summer session which was a week long program that was fantastic because it allowed learning during the summer lull. I highly recommend this program!

My son has attended early engineers the last two years and loves it. He enjoys the building with different things –I like it because it gets him to use something beside Legos! And I like that there is a lesson each week. He loves to come home and tell me all about it!

My son has autism; he is very high functioning and has a hard time socializing. He has attended Early Engineers for two years. It is a great program because it helps him to socialize in a natural setting doing something he loves. It takes him a long time to feel comfortable with his peers and this program gives him the opportunity. I would highly recommend this program for any child that loves building. Thank you Early Engineers!

My son attended his Early Engineers class last school year and absolutely LOVED IT!!! The classes are engaging, hands-​on, individual and group oriented. They use various different types of building materials from Legos to K’nex to everything in between all the while learning about physics. This class awakens the scientific minds of children.
I really liked that a paper would be sent home talking about what was learned, including some vocabulary words and some definitions.
Fantastic program and this year both my kids will be enrolled! :)

My son attends Oak Meadow Elementary School in El Dorado Hills. This is his third Early Engineers class session. These classes take place on Tuesdays right after school, on his campus. They are an hour long. He really enjoys attending these classes, and looks forward to going. At our school there are two teachers, usually in a different classroom. Kindergarten through 2^nd and sometimes 3^rd grade, and 3^rd grade through 5^th grade, which helps the teachers to teach to the child’s abilities and understanding. Every week they have a flyer sent home with your child that explains the «Key Words», «Food For Thought», and «Facts» that was covered in class pertaining to that particular project. Early Engineers instructors use different materials each week to complete the lesson. Materials used can be: Legos, Citiblocs, Play-​Doh, K’Nex, etc. They use engineering concepts, and describe basic engineering principles in easy to understand language and demos. Concepts like conductivity, lift, thrust, amplitude, and many others are covered. The instructor is always positive and encourages creativity. She has good control over the class, and really motivates the children to try new things, and use their heads. She is always taking pictures of the kids finished projects and gives us a gallery to go to online to see what they have made. This class is perfect for boys or girls. We have an even mix in our class. Worth the money to have an educational, and fun after school activity.

My daughter loves her Early Engineers after school class. She has been attending Early Engineers for five months now. Every class they have a special project that she needs to create either individually or with her classmates. They use many different products from Lego’s, building blocks, and K’nex to create buildings, animals, planes, etc. All of the materials have to be broken down after class but pictures are taken and a link is provided to the parents to view. This was very important to me so I can see what my child was accomplishing. The prices are affordable and the payment plans are flexible. If you are looking to put you child in an after school activity, consider Early Engineers and maybe your child may aspire to be an engineer in the future.
