Cooks Collision of Sacramento – Downtown

I bought a Groupon to have my headlights restored. When I called to make an appointment, I was told they only do the restorations on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 10 am and 2pm. This was not listed on the Groupon. I was then told that they don’t do that Groupon anymore but they will have to honor it since it has not expired. I explained that if they had stated on the terms of the Groupon that it was only good on certain days at certain times I would not have purchased it. They did not care. This was my first introduction to this establishment. Based on my experience thus far, I would not take my car there. They clearly did not want my business and were not interested in showing me why I should take my car care business to them.

Robbie got me through the process of getting my car repaired after it was hit by someone. He made sure I knew the updates on my car. Definitely recommend using this place for getting your fixed.

Purchased a deal on Groupon to have my headlights restored. Made an appointment two weeks ago, however I guess I wasn’t in their appointment book. But they helped anyways and got working on my car right away. The guy who helped me was extremely nice and kept me informed on what they needed to do. They even finished within 45 minutes. That’s faster than the 1 hour that they originally quoted me. The only thing is one headlight wasn’t as clean as the other headlight. There was a small spot they missed on the edge of the light that was still alittle burry. It’s fairly small so I decided to not say anything since I already left the shop. Overall, great service.

Today I had to get appraisal and Luis Manzo help me out, it was super simple and fast and very professional!!!

Cook’s auto body did a terrific job on our van. Although they are pricey, they
are definitely worth it! They have one person assigned to work with each of the major Insurance companies and that makes a big difference for the customer. When there is a staff member from Cook’s who knows the people from your insurance company, and knows how to work with them to get the maximum benefit for you, it just makes for a smooth and efficient experience!
The only complaint is the connection with the car rental company. You have to wait a long time for them to come and pick you up (the company is too far away to walk there easily) and then they don’t have any cars to rent to you so you have to wait another hour while the next closest Enterprise brings a car over. Then you have to go back the next day or so to get a car similar to the one you drove in to Cooks. While this is on Enterprise, Cooks need to better advocate for their customers or enter into an agreement with a different company all by itself, Cooks is a 5 star auto body shop.

Outstanding customer service and repair job — highly recommend Mike & company, who kept me abreast of progress with daily updates. Would definitely use them again.

Came for headlights restoration. Left looking brand new! !! Everyone was friendly. Service was great and on time! ! Would refer to anyone who needs there headlights restored!

Recently, my Honda was in a small accident and my insurance placed me at this location to get repairs. My airbag had been recalled and it went off in a small fender bender. Cooks collision went above and beyond to make sure Honda took care of my airbag and because I was on a waiting list, the lady handling my car made sure Honda took care of our rental car costs. She really went above and beyond to take care of us

Cooks Collision did an awesome job of fixing a dent in the side panel of my minivan. The rep (Marlene) was awesome at explaining what needed to be done, how long it would take, and what it would cost (with or without insurance). She was always friendly and pleasant to work with.
Some toddlers were throwing rocks and thought they could make it over our car, they couldn’t it. That left a dent in the side panel. I dropped the car off on a Tuesday morning (with an appointment) and it was done by Thursday afternoon (a day early).
There is no evidence of a dent! They were able to get it out without replacing the panel. The paint color match (a metallic dark gray, Honda’s «Nimbus Gray Metallic») came out perfect and so did the clear coat protection. You would never know that work was done. They even vacumned the car when they finished.
The rating reduction to 4 stars is due the front receptionist (an older woman named Laura?).
She was grouchy every single time (3 total) that I went in. Not the kind of person you want making the first impression for your company. I came extremely close to walking out the first day I tried to get a simple quote had it not been for Marlene shouting from the back that she’d be right up to take over.
I can’t tell if Laura is new, sure seems like it though. Before agreeing to give me a quote she asked if I was going through insurance or had an estimate from another body shop. I let her know that the other party’s insurance cut me a check off of another body shop estimate already (they didn’t have time to fit my car in), so I wan’t sure if that meant yes or no for her purpose. She didn’t like that answer. She asked for the other estimate and I asked why. She said they back into their estimate to make sure it aligns and are charging me something similar. I was puzzled why they couldn’t give their own independent estimate and why that mattered. She said they wouldn’t give me an estimate unless showed them, all the while extremely agitated at me. That’s when Marlene saved the day and said she’d come up. Marlene just asked her to have me fill out the customer info form they have. One of the questions asked about insurance information (company, policy number, etc.). I asked Laura if the question meant my insurance company or the other party’s insurance (seemed like a legitimate question considering it didnt’ say on the form). She said she didn’t know and didn’t care. I’m like «uhhhhhhh». So I left it blank.
On another note, in watching Laura’s other interactions with Marlene and the other Cooks Collision staff, she does not seem to know what she’s doing. I can’t even count the number of times she had to be told to reprint things because she kept printing the wrong forms or printing them before they were filled out.
I’ll be back and have no problems referring friends, I’ll just warn them ahead of time about the receptionist.
By the way, Marlene clearly explained that if I don’t go through insurance then they charge their normal fee. But if I go through insurance, then each company has negotiated reduced rates for jobs, which is why they asked. Knowing that an insurance company was cutting me the check off their estimate she quoted me the first day with the appropriate companies repair rate. Give her a raise for outstanding customer service!

Wow! Totally blown away by this place. AMAZING customer service, and they got my car done early. My car was hit and they had to do a paint match, which I was really worried about. However, they did a great job and I can’t even tell the difference!
Pete took care of me and I really appreciated the great service here. The office and waiting room was really nice also.
Pete called me frequently to give me status updates on my vehicle. I appreciated the communication and would also like to note that I never had a hard time getting ahold of Cook’s– They have a call center line outside of business hours, which is really convenient.
All in all, I give this place an A+. The repairs and service exceeded my expectations.

I visited Cooks to get headlight restoration done, using a Groupon. Every employee here was very friendly and accommodating! Manager, receptionist, service tech all gave me great service. Sometimes when you use a Groupon, you get «discounted» service to go with your discounted product. That was not the case here. I will definitely return here for future bodywork needs.

After being rear ended on the free way, and my bumper nearly falling off, not only did Cook’s do an amazing job fixing the bumper back to brand new! they also washed the exterior (which was clearly dirty when i dropped it off due to not having time to have it washed prior) and to top it all off Detailed the inside back to better than new condition!
The icing on the cake is that when getting my estimate, the work and parts where way under what I had thought, they quoted a 3 – 5 day repair minimum depending on what they found after removing the bumper, and I had my car back in 2.5 days in superb condition!!!
I will definitely be returning to Cook’s Collision Downtown if I am ever again in need of repairs!!! Thank you: D

I have NEVER had such wonderful service with an auto body repair company as I had just experienced with Cooks Collision in Midtown! Every single staff member from the ladies at the front desk, to Mike, the representative I worked with, to some of the repair gentlemen, to the lovely custodial staff that I happened to meet –I felt welcomed, and was VERY confident that they had me, my wallet, and my beloved Rav 4 in their best interest. I was given a lot of detailed and accurate information regarding my vehicle, and luckily, they were even able to finish it back to mint condition EARLIER than expected! I was even educated on various aspects of the products and industry for the benefit of my future needs regarding my vehicle. There is a lot of dignity and pride here, and I had the opportunity to see their brand new reception office after they had it redesigned, and it it beautiful and modern. All in all, I will continue to bring my business to Cooks Collision should I ever need their services again. Can I give them 10 stars instead of 5 please?!

I have been to Cooks Collision twice. Both times I received great customer service. They were always pleasant and professional. I have zero complaints. When I was told I would be receiving a call regarding a status update on my vehicle, I received one. They were accurate in their time estimates in fixing my car. If anything happens to my car again, I will definitely be coming back.

I’ve used Cooks when it used to be Hayes Brothers before and was very impressed by both their customer service and overall cleanliness. The work floor was so clean, it looked like you could eat off it! So when I had some minor work needed on my SUV, I didn’t hesitate to contact Cook’s. Marlene was my Service agent and provided outstanding customer service to me the entire time. I was so worried about my car but she took the time to explain everything to me, from the billing process with my insurance agent to how and what they would need to do to my car. It being the week before Thanksgiving, I was worried I might not get my car returned on time, but her staff did an OUTSTANDING job and had the car detailed and ready to go exactly when promised.
Recently, some idiot «tagged» the back of my other car. There was paint all over the back hatches and over the license plate. I was sick to my stomach thinking about how much it was going to cost, the amount of work needed, etc. I made an appointment with Marlene again, just to get an estimate of the damage done. She looked at the car, went inside and got a rag with some solvent on it. She asked me if I minded if she tried something, to which I said, no please go ahead and try. She started wiping and the paint started to dissolve and come off the car! She had me take a seat in her waiting room and 15 minutes later, said «We’re done!» We went to take a look and the entire back of my car was sparkling clean! She said she also had her person put a coat of wax on the back where the paint was wiped off.
I thanked her profusely and then asked «What do I owe you?» She replied «Nothing.» I asked again and she again said «Nothing, you owe me nothing». I then told her I’d write her a great review on Unilocal and we settled on that!
I admit, I was impressed with Hayes Brothers/Cook’s Collision the first two times I had to use them, but with such great customer service and care as I had just experienced, I will be their customer for LIFE! And, I recommend them to everyone, Marlene and her crew are the absolute BEST out there!

This place was a breezy to go to, professional as all can be, and an overall super wonderful experience. My assigned person, Pete, was in constant communication with me during the whole time they had my car (took about three weeks altogether as there was some insurance items to work out) and got it back to me almost a week before I expected it. It was clean and shiny when I picked it up — they even detailed the inside! I would highly recommend this place.

From the minute I walked in, the customer service was spectacular. I showed Peter my car and he knew exactly what to do to fix it (it was smashed in pretty badly). He walked me through the process of what was needed to bring my car back into shape and called me every so often to give me updates. Truly a genuine guy who really wants to help you and give you the best possible service and prices available. My experience was stress free all due to their drive to exceed my expectations. My car looks brand new. Thank you Peter!

Don’t fall for the false promises and bad business practices they do at this shop. Get everything in writing! They might seem friendly but when it comes down to it it’s all about them and not you.
I waited 5 months for a repair job where they said they will be able to work with me on the deductible. Now they’re backing out of it blaming the insurance company. Why would I deal with a company that treats people like this?
Don’t waste your time there plenty of other body shops out there!

This place is great! This shop was recently taken over by Cooks Collision from Hayes Bothers. I had been a loyal customer of Hayes Brothers for a couple years and had come to trust them to always do an exceptional job of repairing my BMW’s. After a recent fender bender I brought my car in and was happy to see the whole staff from Hayes still work here. I received the same great service and repair work I had always counted on.
They are very good at getting my car in and out quickly and fixed right the first time. I actually think the work they do surpasses the quality of the paint that comes on my car from the factory!
I would recommend this shop to anyone. And if you have an expensive foreign car you can trust it will be repaired right and with the utmost skill and precision.

Best body shop I have ever delt with. My car looks like it did when it was new can’t even tell my fender was ever damaged.
