I came back twice but ALMOST three times. First time, I thought I was just supposed to show proof of insurance NOW, not at the time of my ticket which was three months prior. Fair enough. I’m not insured with that company though. Why you ask? Because the wait time to speak with someone on the phone is 45 minutes to an hour. Finally got ahold of someone and had them email me my declaration which said that I was insured with their company at the time of the ticket.
Went back to the Justice Center and this bitch with a Ukrainian accent «helped» me by saying she couldn’t accept it because at the top it said «offer to renew» and asked if I had any receipts from the time of buying the policy. Are you fucking kidding me? Of course I said «no» and she said that I can go and see the judge at 1:15 but I actually have to work at 2 instead of directing people to other people so you don’t have to do SHIT. At this point, I’m like fuck it, I can’t come back again later today so let me ask if someone can come for me and pay the fine and show proof of correction though I fucking had it, so I went back in line and saw the same lady that helped me the first time. I said that the other lady couldn’t accept my declaration and she asked to see it so I showed her and THIS LADY COULD ACCEPT IT!!!

I’d advise everyone to do all you can online. Its much easier … not to say going in person is difficult, by any means.
If you need to see a judge, do not stand in line at Room 100. Go to the self-​serve kiosk computer (to the left of the elevators), insert your driver’s license and you are immediately signed up. You’ll be called by the judge in the order in which you signed in (infractions heard first, then misdemeanors). I believe the line for Room 100 is only if you want to pay your fine. You can also simply pay your fine at the self-​serve kiosk or online.
Doors open at 7:30am
Room 100 opens at 8:15am
Court starts at 8:30am
Court closes at 4:00pm, however, I was told that if you are signed up by 4:00, you will be seen that day.
I arrived at 7:30am, checked in at the kiosk, was the first person called by the judge at 8:30, paid my fix-​it ticket and walked out the door at 8:40.

No stars would be the preferred option. Why do we have to pay for parking at a place our tax dollars were used to construct? I understand why some people should pay for parking that is if they do not pay their taxes or live on assistance. I wonder if it part of a new hires training to act completely retarded when they are asked a question that they cannot explain the answer to. I also don’t understand how the idiots that work here from the peons to the judges are allowed to remain in their positions of power. I guess we get the service we should expect from a place that just collects money and doesn’t offer any form of purchase or service. I do hate court but only because most laws and enforcement of laws are corrupt. Is all about being guilty until proven innocent.

Schmoney. These places are all about renevue. All they want is money, money, and more money! The people in the front were really rude to my relatives and trying to get smart with them. However, the kiosk clerks are very nice. I hate all courts! They should make a childcare place in here. As I was sitting down, I saw a woman’s child fall & hit her face against a hard chair! Other kids crying & spilling food on the ground as well. If you are a woman don’t make eye contact & distance yourself from random creepy old men that try to talk to you or even sit by you when there’s tons of other seats around!

I’m sure I’m in the minority, but this place gets a solid 4 stars from me. I’ve gone here to pay traffic tickets (and sign up for traffic school!) and also on behalf of my job. I can honestly say that everyone I’ve come into contact with, from the deputies, to support staff, bailiffs and judges – ALL have been very nice, helpful and respectful. It didn’t even bother me to pay for parking, the kiosks couldn’t be easier to use, just remember your parking slot # so you can input it in the machine, use dollar bills, coin or credit cards and its pretty easy.
You learn a lot about people when you’re standing in line to pay a ticket and the show here is better than at the DMV. You got people who want to pay and get out of there or not pay but still get out there and the stories they tell are hilarious.
Truly, worth the price of admission

Went here for to pay a speeding ticket and get authorized for traffic school because someone (me) procrastinated until spotting the due date on the forgotten ticket long buried in the dark abyss of my purse. Sheesh.
Surprised to learn that this building is really easy to get to, security and staff pretty darn perky, and the lines relatively quick moving. I seriously was in and out in under ten minutes and left wishing that the beasts at the DMV would take a customer service lesson from these friendly folks.
I contemplated giving five stars here just in the overall ease and pleasantness of this experience alone but I simply must deduct for the outrageous idea of charging the already gouged –who am I really hurting by driving a few miles over the speed limit during the morning commute– citizens like myself a parking fee to come here. And self park.
Gimme a break. Or better yet. valet me next time for the fee I’m paying to park here against my will.

Well, both times I went, the officers who scan you when you first enter were polite and answered any questions I had. This time, I stood in front of the judge, pled my case, and got a fine reduced by over 80%, so was happy about it.
The thing I don’t appreciate is that you have to pay for parking. Is there a reason we must pay for the «priviledge» of going to traffic court? Is receiving a warrant for a traffic ticket now considered comparable to concert parking?
Could have been four or five, but considering the first visit only took ten minutes (again, good customer service skills by all parties invovled), it still cost me $ 3.

I dunno why this place is rated so low. Most of us broke the law in one way or another. We have to pay our dues and learn from our mistakes… The employees know we aren’t in the mood for conversation and mostly keep to themselves. Bring a book or charge up your phone when you come here. I have at all the reviewers who try to plead there case here… nobody cares :)

I really didn’t like paying $ 3 for using my credit card for parking when I was just paying the whole of a citation and was there for less than 3 minutes.
I walked in, used one of the traffic kiosks, paid, then walked out.
Eh, whatever.

Well, this place isn’t that bad. The people who run it are courteous and friendly. The two dollar parking is a scam. I was there today on two visits, and I handed my unused parking to a couple in the lot. They looked confused. They changed from confused to grateful in a second.
Turns out that karma paid back, because someone did it for me on the way back in!
Some talking to the people inside, and I left with a payment plan and a 500 dollar fine removed. Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Only dropped 20 bucks and I skated.
So yeah I get it. It sucks to pay for making a stupid mistake. Still, these people were helpful and friendly.
Much respect to the workers there. I know it’s not easy when everyone hates your guts and is NOT happy to see you. You’re doing a great service. Keep keeping on!

This place isn’t half bad. The ladies in the front are hilarious and homely and hilariously homely. Sitting on those big butts scowling at you while you give them a shit grin back is just priceless. Come in here with a smile. They seem to hate it.
Had to go in for a fix-​it ticket. Exhaust too loud (says RCPD, not the CHP. No decibel test no nothing.) A few weeks prior a cop pulled me over for a loud exhaust. He gave me a verbal warning and sent me on my way. I went to a muffler shop to get that rectified. A few weeks after that I got a fix-​it ticket. So, it really depends on the cop and his mood for that day. BS
Also, they will tell you that all you have to do is show proof that you corrected the violation. What they don’t tell you is that you still need to pay $ 25 after you prove you corrected the violation. Again, BS.
With Eduardo on one side selling his broken hondas on craigslist and Tamara on the other telling her baby daddy to go pick up menthols with their EBT card… let’s just say it was a SMH moment.
The lady at the counter was very nice. Even after getting berated by an older gentleman on the $ 25 fee explained above.
This place not too shabby. I had a good laugh.

The Red Light camera citation is nothing but a legalized SCAM,
The camera company makes money on it, so it inflates the cost of your fine. The charge you an extra $ 61 just to apply for Traffic School. Then you have to pay the traffic school. My inflated fine was $ 480 + $ 61 + $ 50 (estimated) = $ 591 ! !
If you analyze mi video, you can see that I was trying to beat the yellow light, no street on the right of the road and the left incoming traffic started way after the red light. A fairly safe traffic situation. The judges here don’t care. Appeals are a waste of time. All they want is REVENUE.
Please contact your LEGISLATORS to look into this.

One star, has nothing to do with having to go to court, just this shity court!
The security by the metal detectors are dude bitchy women with no respect for anyone!
So you have to go to court, can’t tell where you are supposed to go because it’s not well labeled and there are to many people to read all the door signs. Lines are so long and it really sucks to have to wait in one for over 40mins when you are pregnant and have to pee every 30mins!
Go to one window, they tell you to go into a court room. Where you sit and wait for a judge that can’t even make it to the court room on TIME! Wait for a while as they call up about 10 people to stand in line and give you NO time to stat your case. Just call you up tell you your guilty and to go out and to the next dang window, where you wait even more. Get to this new window where you set up payments for your ticket.
Leave and go out to your car where it has been sitting for the last 3 hours (because that’s how long it takes). Oh and by the way you have to pay for parking, but you don’t have to put the parking ticket in the window, or show it to anyone inside!!! They just want more of your damn MONEY!
This court is the biggest bunch of crap, miss the normal Placerville court house and their system.

There’s only two reasons you’re here, either you work here, or you’re going to learn to hate it here. Cops from around are never in a good mood here. This is a place where civilians get treated like criminals, kind of like a pre-​prison initiation. This is where my hate brews for who is a bad driver, cops that screw people on tickets, cases that are in favor for the police because the evidence from the victim wasn’t strong enough to defend themselves. If you’re a fan of just coming here for the food in the cafeteria which consists of just vending machines. then the best to you.

GET RECIEPTS FOR ANYTHING YOU FILE, THEY WILL SCREW YOU!

Most of the time I do not get attitude from anyone here. I love their number system… its fair.

A couple of incidents here though…
1. My daughter had someone served then came here to file the proof of service. When my daughter asked the clerk if she needed a reciept for filing the Proof Of Service and the clerk told «her no, thats it.» (NOT TRUE) you do need a proof of service receipt. You need to show it to the judge on your court date.
It was the cute little brown haired clerk, the last minute before closing time so I am sure she wanted to go home, but it was wrong of her!
When the court date came, judge said the POS had not been filed so the clerk who didnt give her the reciept for the pos also did not file it and just threw it in the trash somewhere so she could go home.
My daughter had to go through the process all over again.
Make sure you get your receipt for your pos, especially if you go in at the last hour of the day because this chick just wanted to go home that day and did not do her job. insist on a reciept! you need to bring it to court anyway, this clerk knew that! Shame on you!
2. Security guard/​Sheriff would not let my boss in for some small claims cases our company filed, even though he showed him the paper work with the court appointed date & time. The guard asked if he had night court (since it was at 5pm) my boss told him he wasnt sure if it was called «night court» but that he had court at 5pm then proceeded to show him the proof. The guard shook his head and told him «no he dosent»!!! WTF!!! We lost all the cases, when we complained later asking them to review the cameras to show the guard turning him away and not letting him in to his appointed court times they dicked us around to where we just gave up.
You bastards know what you did was wrong and you should have owned up to it! The cameras do not lie and i know you got cameras… SHADY! No wonder why the employees get away with what the #1 got away with!
3. My brother paid for his ticket in the drop box and thought everything was all good until he got pulled over one day, over a year later… they took his car and impounded it. They said his ticket was never paid for which was BS but unlike me he dosent keep his reciepts so he ended up paying the ticket all over again and an impound fee PLUS he had to walk home half way from work in the middle of the night. Cost him alot of money. KEEP YOU RECIEPT FOR LIFE!
I would have given 3 or 4 stars if it were not for these very wrong and very shady incidents.

Great sheriff workers in the front moving you through the metal detectors. The line was long to get to the first check in counter and the lady was neither friendly nor the brightest crayon in the box. Once inside the courtroom for my 9:30 a.m., we didn’t start until nearly 10. I did appreciate the two docents of sorts who manned the courtroom. They gave a short, informative speech, fielded questions and generally kept things moving. Not sure why each court room needed 2 – 3, but maybe it was a training opportunity for a couple. Otherwise, it seemed excessive. The commissioner (instead of judge) was friendly and easy to work with.
Then, the line to pay my fee. REDONK! This took about 20 minutes to move through. The ladies behind the counter were just chit chatting with customers. Chit chatting! I was not pleased with that.
Also, be sure to bring money or card for parking. They charge.

My only real complaint about this specific court is the fact that you have to pay to park. Its bad enough you get a ticket and then you show up here and have to pay more. Chances are you’re going to end paying the court some type of fee so why should we have to pay more for parking? But I’ve seen some officers give tickets to cars that didn’t pay so I suggest you don’t skip out on it. Who wants to go fight a traffic ticket and come out to their car to see another one waiting?
This court also no longer sends out courtesy notices, meaning you have to hold on to your ticket. If you’re like me, this is a hassle. I misplace things on a regular basis. Oh, and lets not forget when the officer gives you the ticket and you can’t even read the handwriting, you end up having to take the time to call the court and ask them to basically read it to you.
How about avoiding this place as much as possible? I suggest you fight your ticket via trail by written declaration. I have done this twice now and it works out great. It gives you time to research your violation, write out the facts and put them together in a clear, concise manner. If the officer doesn’t respond by written trail, you automatically win. If they officer does write in and they rule in the courts favor, then you can appeal. You basically get two chances to fight the ticket as opposed to one chance. When you appeal, you do have to go court, but that’s a last resort kind of deal.
Overall, the Carol Miller Justice Center sucks. But that’s because its court and who really wants to go to court? For the most part, they are as efficient as they possibly could be and I don’t think the judges or any one who works there is really in it to antagonize you. It’s just a pain to deal with, annoying to have to take time out of your day and not a great experience overall.

I put it off I, put it off I put it off… crap its a week away I need to go in and figure it out, yuck.
Here is how my day went. Found this building, parked, paid for parking. Metal detector. Waited in line for court. Opps wrong line. Waited in another line. Finally got up to the man and showed him all my paperwork. I have proof it can be corrected! Here is my 75 bucks too! Opps.“ma’am you need to go to the DMV or find an officer to sign off on this too, then come back. Plus you need to get us a copy of your registration and insurance.” DMV??? NO! «Well dear, you might be able to catch an officer in the parking lot.» Condescending much? UGH you suck mister traffic window man.
Head to the DMV for another hour. The nicest person all day was the DMV worker who checked my car. She apologized for the ridiculous wait and told me to have a great day. I actually got a smile. Wow.
Kinko’s bound! 40 cents for those copies for Mr. traffic court window man.
Back to the Justice Center! More money for parking. This time the line is about half what it was earlier! Yes! Finally my turn at the window. Different guy. Here is my paperwork and nifty official DMV signature!!! «okay let me go make a copy of these.» WAIT YOUR WINDOW NEIGHBOR TOLD ME I HAD TO MAKE COPIES FOR YOU!!! Fine… oh whatever. Paid & done. Of course I had another hour worth of parking paid for.
Avoid this place altogether if possible. In total it took four hours for all the waiting plus running around I had to do to get my ticket fixed. Court would have been much worse. Make sure you have your ipod and your phone is charged up so you can text your friend about all the glamor you see while people watching in line. Be prepared for the stench of rico suave cologne, pot, stale cigarettes and just plain old BO. Get dropped off if possible to save a few bucks. If you can mail in your payment or pay online instead do it! Lesson learned.

As much as your traffic court judge may try to act impartial and friendly you can rest assured that he is neither. The judge is a steward of the state and the state needs bodies because bodies equal money.
Our country seems to be getting dumber and dumber and nobody has perfected exploiting this for financial gain better than the American legal system.
If you are going to fight your traffic ticket, you need to come to court with something better than an «I didn’t know!» Forget that, I would have just been impressed to see someone come in dressed up.
Come on people! The system is screwed up but you are making it easy for them to screw you over despite all of your complaining.
Did you look up the laws pertaining to your supposed infraction?
Did you come to court ready to submit evidence in your favor?
Did you do any research on your judge or the D. A?
Did you try a declaration trial first?
Did you do anything other than show up and hope the officer didn’t?
Let me tell you something. Police officers get paid a special bonus wage to show up in court and make sure your ticket sticks. They don’t get paid to fill out declaration trials. So hoping that your officer doesn’t show is not a good strategy. They get paid more to do this than when they are out on the streets dodging bullets.
Here are some things to do.
Be on time and dress nice. Your respect for the institution will weigh favorably in the final decision on your case.
Be prepared, look up the laws regarding your infraction. See if the officer made any mistakes.
If you were caught on radar or photo ask to see the calibration records. 9 times out of 10 the officer won’t have them. If this is the case ask the judge to dismiss the case since the evidence against you is not available.
Make sure that the officer that has shown up to testify against you is the same one that signed your ticket. You have the right to confront your accuser and not a third party. Occasionally police officers will cover for each other in court. Point this out and ask that the case be dismissed.
I have had 9 traffic tickets in my life and have beaten 8 of them. It is not that hard to do if you put in a little effort.
As far as the facility is concerned, you will be paying for parking. I suggest coming prepared with a credit card as the cash lines will be longer and move slower.
You will then pass through security that makes the TSA look like Fort Knox. I’m talking real deadbeat, highschool dropout types with major insecurities that can cause you some grief if you set off their radar.
After that most people need to stand in line at room 100. The sooner you get here the shorter the line will be. Also, check your summons. Occasionally your court room will have been assigned in advance. If that’s the case you won’t need to stand in the initial lines.
Try to do any serious bathroom business at home as the bathrooms here get gross and they don’t put much effort into cleaning them.
I was the only one out of 25 people who won my traffic court case so that is my credentials! Good luck!

I got a speeding ticket in December and had to go here to arrange to pay my fine in installments (It was a hefty fine.) I was in and out in less than 30 minutes and was even able to flirt with the cute Sheriff’s Security Officer at the metal detectors.
