History

Established in 1911.

Bode & Bode was founded in the year 1911 by two sisters working as blacksmiths with the last name «Bode.» As the Gold Rush was coming to a close, and the industrial revolution was in full force, it was time to change with the times. In addition, as people were moving from depending on horse-​drawn carriages to driving automobiles, the blacksmith business was slowing down. With more people wanting to hold onto their valuables, the locksmiths and safe-​cracking businesses were picking up. Today, we do a lot more than «crack» safes.

These guys are the best!
This is the 3rd time they’ve helped me. This time they came out & fixed everything another locksmith company had screwed up (never contact a company that identifies themselves as Locksmith Services).
This is the first time I worked with Paul from Bode & Bode. Ask for him. He’s awesome!

I can’t say enough good things about Bode and Bode! They called ahead to re-​confirm the time. Arrived exactly on tiime… were efficient, friendly and made great recommendations… and all came in at the price they quoted. AND they have a coupon on line. so I got their minimum fee of $ 105 for $ 80.

My husband had Bode & Bode Lock & Safe company come out to the house as he lock himself out of a interior door. $ 125.00 !!! His son could’ve opened it with a bobby pin or paper clip had he been around. Way too much… just to open the door. No keys were made, just an inflated amount… live and learn.

When we called these guys to unstick our dummyface door lock (which had been jamming for months) we got a smoothly locking door in less than 15 minutes! Not only did their repairman (i think his name was Paul) fix the deadbolt, he was also able to copy a key for our car, AND he even gave me advice to save a withering succulent I had placed by the front door.
Definitely give these guys a call, you’ll be glad you did :)

I have been casually looking for a place that could make me a spare key for my 1955 dodge for the past four years. No luck. On my way into bonehead tattoo, I decided to see if they had the blank. 5 minutes later I walked out of there with two new keys for less than $ 10. The blanks sell on eBay for $ 20. They are the best at what they do, and incredibly cool to boot. I highly recommend their services.

Great Company! They dispatched a technician, Floyd, within a couple of hours of my call to them. I had my multiple listing lockbox and the door knob it was affixed to removed by vandals. Floyd replaced the door handle, and rekeyed all the locks in the home. The new keys work with ease and Floyd even thought to make a Do Not Duplicate key to put in the lockbox should I decide to put another one up on the home. Thanks for everything! Rita D.

Floyd came to fix a frenchdoor handle that had broken off. It could not be fixed, so he drove around to several places until he found just the exact same lock; came back and put it in, and he he never charged me a dime for all the time he spent looking for the lock. He is a peach, and a very calm, lovely man. I love Bode & Bode. You will love them too.

I have the unfortunate story that my bro. called this other company who has ONLY an address listed in Tennessee for Sacramento! Seems shady to me!

Awesome company that was right on time with service. Silly me locked my purse in the car on the front seat! My car was out by the bank and in front of Safeway on 19th. Definitely not a good place to leave your purse on the front seat at all. So I called the great girl at Bode and she sent a guy within 30 minutes. He was able to get the car open and disable the alarm! Extra work with the extra mile. He was also very professional and helped me looked for my lost keys. I eventually found them in Safeway but hey, Bode and Bode saved my purse!

I called Bode and Bode and got a same day arrival. Wayne, the locksmith, arrived about an hour later and was my hero for the day! He fixed what was wrong, told me about some other reasons why it could have gone wrong, and was friendly and speedy. I will ALWAYS call Bode and Bode for my locksmith work. They are trustworthy, speedy, and friendly!

Needed keys copied. I had stickers on them indicating which was which and the guy making my keys had the foresight to ask if he should engrave it into the keys he was making to help differentiate them as well. I didn’t know they did that so I appreciate it.
The keys work.
Service was great.
You can park on the street but they also have customer parking on the side of the building.

Several years ago, Bode and Bode fixed my front door locks. Not only was my deadbolt fixed, the technician correctly re-​installed the door lock that my late husband had installed upside down.
Today, I called to see if they come out and fix a stuck lock for the water heater closet. I was not looking forward to paying for a locksmith as well as a water heater repair. However, they told me to try lubricant first. And, it worked! As a widow and single mother, I appreciated how quickly they gave advice rather than charging me for a service call. Highly recommended!

Saturday morning the deadbolt on my 5 plex’s laundry/​storage room would not open. I needed in there and so do my tenants. I called Bode & Bode around 9:45am and by 10:30am problem solved. Quick, knowledgeable and friendly service.
