ordered the bun riu. didn’t realize it had pork in it. thought it was shrimp/crab flavoring with noodles. if your a carnivore, the amount of meat to noodle ratio is awesome! this wasn’t for me.

I come here for their Bun Bo Hue(BBH). First time was probably 8⁄10 with it coming out a bit late at about 20mins. The side-veggies were fresh and clean, which I appreciate. Second trip, my BBH came out fast like around 10mins, but wasn’t as flavorful(7⁄10) or something was missing. Regardless, I found the proportion of noodles, soup and meat to be fine. Place felt clean for a Phở/Noodle house and service was fine. It’s next to somewhat of a ghetto convenience store, other than that, I would come back again.

Terrible customer service… I came here for lunch with a couple of friends and they completely forgot my order. My friends got their food within 15 minutes of ordering but my food never came when I asked about my food they said they had forgotten about it. Needless to say I will not be coming back here again.

Pretty simple phở spot. Nothing crazy, but nothing unsatisfying.

I’m always happy with the food and friendly service. It’s my go to sick day or hangover day place. I love lots of phở places in Sac and this is one of them. Always plenty of seats too. Plus, I’ve time the front door fell off. That was funny.

First time here, the place is a good size though parking can be busy. However the food is inexpensive and it comes in a large portion. Good food I must say. I would recommend bun bo hue and the grilled pork chops. It’s a busy place but the service is fast.

The noodle game is way too strong here. If you prefer a mountain of noodles with your bowl of phở, this is the place for you. Unfortunately, this also oversaturates the bowl and makes you wonder if there’s any broth in there. Not that the broth was amazing though. It must’ve been in a canoe because it’s freaking close to water. It was lacking a lot of depth and didn’t impress me one bit. This meal was like a bad tinder date. From the photos it looked appealing, but after a couple bites, you realize it fell short of your expectations. We mistook this place for another phở place nearby with an extremely long viet name, so don’t get them mixed up! The only thing I liked about this place was probably their eggrolls and the super friendly owners.

This spot is delicious! There’s a couple things you need to know about this spot. First and foremost, the small is really a large haha! So sit back and pat yourself on the back for saving money. The noodles are almost overflowing the small bowl. Second thing to note: There doesn’t appear to be any crazy amount of msg in their food. We left feeling good and«normal» haha. The broth was not too fatty or salty and really complimented the meat we ordered. Lastly: the meat is really fresh. Some phở restaurants cut their meat hours or days before they serve it. Here the meat was bright red and flavorful. I always order meat on the side in order to inspect my product before consumption. The restaurant was really clean and the staff was attentive. I even secretly LOVE their old yellow curtains hanging from the window. I will definitely be back!

This is my first time eating at this restaurant, they have huge selection of food, from viet, Thai n Chinese but mainly Chinese food! This is the thing that I learned from this place. Don’t think that all the food around here is cheap, because ¾ is veg. Anyway, we ordered couple dishes for our lunch. We had crispy calamari app, which coming with ss souce as a dipping souce. The calamari was butter like ss ck. Pad ke mow was good Sizzling seafood was ok, too much veg n the price was $ 11. Something. Mongolian beef, too much onion than it supposed to. Overall, the food it’s not bad n I’m fan of Thai food, so I’ll be back.

Been here a few times this past summer, and it’s good. Service is fast and the portions are big, especially their L or XL(I don’t remember their largest size is). Anyway, it’s the first phở bowl I couldn’t finish. I swear, if you wanted to be cheap you could order an XL and share it with 3 normal people and they’d all be full. My wife usually orders the bun bo hue and that’s good too. The only minor downside is that broth isn’t as flavorful as some other places, and meat isn’t as rare as I’d like, but l would trade these minor flaws, for a full belly and a 6 hour good nap!

I wasn’t happy with the food they served me. I’m not the biggest vegetable fan and so I ordered my food without vegetables. Blame it on how I was raised… meat and potatoes are my thing! Anyways. this is the second time here and they screwed my order up. Both times I ordered my dishes without vegetables and both times they made it with vegetables. This time I didn’t send it back. I ordered the house special chow fun. I can’t stand bean sprouts and it took forever to dig through and take them all… or the majority of them out. It really ruined my experience here. I even let the waitress who took my order know and she walked away with no care. So I decided to share my experience. I will not come back here!

Standing alone and a little ways down from the slew of Vietnamese joints in the shopping center on Stockton Blvd, Basil Noodle serves up the best spring rolls and nem nuong I’ve had yet! I noticed the wait for the former was lengthier than usual and for very good reason as the rolls came out warm and filled with tender and particularly well-seasoned grilled pork. The nem nuong here is served on a couple of sizable platters with all the components to build yourself. All mad fresh and that grilled ground pork was absolutely on point. As a point of reference, the quality crushes Quan Nem Ninh Hoa and is comparable to that of Brodard in the OC. My only minor gripe is that I wish these guys made their own dipping sauce as opposed to the tasty yet otherwise standard fish sauce served with bun dishes. Beyond the rolls, phở here is solid with the strengths lying in the meat quality and cook on the noodles. The broth itself was good though not quite as flavorful as other spots in the area. The broccoli chicken and catfish clay pot were both solid as well. Unfortunately, service here is a mixed bag as is the case it seems with the majority of places in Little Saigon. Our server apparently spoke some Cantonese in addition to Vietnamese, but seriously struggled to understand even the most basic phrases. English was obviously a lost cause. The point is to just be very clear on your orders as she misheard«full» as «four» and we ended up receiving much more food than expected. Thankfully it was the nem nuong so everything worked out just fine.

Delicious Phở! I had #21, Phở beef ball. Beef broth was not too salty and the beef balls were yummy! Great service and atmosphere too. I tried this place with a few other people and they all enjoyed their meals which included spring roll, orange chicken, spicy beef and shrimp noodle bowl. The shopping center may not look like much but don’t let it fool you. Great place for lunch!

After L’Orchid closed down, there was just no place to get really good backed catfish. Enter Basil Noodle House. Warning: it takes about 45 to get your order. Definitely order ahead of time. My parents ordered about 30 – 45 minutes before we arrived. Just another 10 or so minutes by the time we got there to get our food. The catfish was backed to crispy perfection. Comes with rice paper and appropriate veggies. Service was okay, they give you extra helpings of everything if you need it. No checking in on you or anything. But the lady was nice to my parents when they asked for things. Haven’t tried anything else here yet, but will return for more.

You know I am so pleasantly surprised by the phở here. I was anticipating that crappy feeling I get when I have MSG… but apparently they use minimal MSG because I felt great! & it’s soooo yummy. Just what I needed.

My parents were raving about this place and their baked catfish. TIP: if you know this is what you want, call and order in advance so that you don’t wait 45 minutes. The wait is long, but let me tell you, WELLWORTHIT. Baked catfish with rice paper and all the veggies you want. Catfish is baked crispy and it is absolutely delicious. Service is okay, and you can get all the helpings and rice paper as you need. I have yet to try any other things on the menu, but I will definitely return for the baked catfish. GO! NOW!

Yum! We stumbled upon Basil Noodle House while looking for the Phở restaurant with the very long name. We couldn’t find it, which actually worked out because Basil Noodle House was exactly what we were looking for! The egg rolls here are very tasty. A nice serving size for the price, and they were delicious! Crispy and flavorful, I highly recommend them, and there was plenty for two people to split an order. We both ordered the #13, the basic beef broth with rare beef soup. I like more broth and less noodles because I have a thing for bean sprouts. It seems like most places skimp on broth and then overload bowls with noodles. Not here! The toppings were all very fresh. The service, as others have mentioned, was terrific. We were seated quickly, brought waters with lemon right away and then were able to place our orders within minutes of being seated. The restaurant was also very clean, and brightly lit! It’s in a large strip mall, on the corner. Plenty of parking available. Someone must have forgotten to turn on the music but remembered half way through our visit. I was glad for that because listening to everyone sniffle and slurp soup is my least favorite part of dining on phở! I will definitely be back here again. I look forward to checking out the spring rolls next time!

Boy was i fooled coming here smh. This place looked so tempting on Unilocal that i got drawn in. It was a rainy day so i got the phở, all if their phở were pretty much beef, i got a lot of broth and a lil noodles on mine, my girl got a lil broth and way to many noodles on hers. When i got there the the table was dirty i had to clean our table the waitress kept bugging us! I swear she asked us 4 times if we were ready to order within the first 4 minutes, i wanted to be like, bitch chill the fuck out i havent even looked at the menu! But i didnt :) The phở was ok just sucked that the broth was luke warm it got cold real fast! The atmosphere wasnt to pleasant really dull and boring. I rather go to my favorite phở xu lau on stockton and fruitridge. I hate to do it but im only blessing these mofos with 2 stars. Merry christmas motha fukas! Ps i wont be back. I would say that the oysters are good tho. Thats the reason i gave em 2 stars.

Food: Nem Nuong Cuon(Grill Pork Spring rolls): half size, comes with 2 grilled pork kebabs, 4 fried wonton sticks, Vermicelli noodles, 4 rice papers, and 2 pieces of sour and spicy pork with a plate full of vegetables. The grilled pork kebabs were tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. I love the crunch in my spring rolls from the fried wonton sticks! I didn’t care for the sour and spicy pork. The sauce that came with the dish was the worse I ever had. I asked for nuoc mam ot(spicy fish sauce) instead. When the waitress brought the fish sauce to me she asked if I was going to use the spring roll sauce. I told her no, so she took it back to the kitchen. I hope she didn’t reuse. 3⁄5 Service: I came here with my husband and friend. My friend’s Bun Bo Hue came out within 10 minutes, mine’s came out in 15 minutes, and my husband’s Phở didn’t come out for about 25 minutes. Because it took so long, he was late returning to work. I was not at all impressed with the service here. 2⁄5 Final thoughts: The food wasn’t bad, so I would probably come back here but I would make sure time isn’t a constraint.
