Astro Security Monitoring provides sales, service and security alarm monitoring of both residential and commercial alarm systems. We have our own in house monitoring center staffed 24 hours a day 365 days a year. We service commercial, residential and custom clients and offer the following low voltage services: Surveillance Systems, Lighting Control, Structured Wiring and of course Security Systems. We offer monitoring as low as $ 24.95 per month plus equipment and can service/​install non monitored security systems.

History

Established in 1962.

Back when we started there wasn’t a lot of suppliers for security alarm systems so Don Moore started the business by making his own security alarm panels in his garage. We grew out of his garage location and In 1982 we started our own alarm monitoring center and installation/​service business just South of Sacramento City College. Today we do Commercial, Custom and Residential Security installs and alarm monitoring.

When I called to get an alarm system for my new home, I called Astro first. When I called I spoke with a gentleman named Troy and he explained the system to me so that even a technologically challenged person such as myself could understand. Within a couple of days Kevin showed up at my home installed the system within a couple of hours. He then gave me a cheat sheet and a quick rundown of the system and was on his way. I respect people who can get the job done quick and efficiently, and that just so happened to be Astro Security.

«I just had Astro Security install my alarm system in my home, I was very pleased with the salesman (Troy) who came out and sat down with me to go over their options and what I needed to protect me and my cats. I didn’t even think about getting a smoke detector but he said they can monitoring for smoke and fire at no extra monthly charge. This was a good idea since I have animals in my house when Im at work. The install crew (Kevin and Kevin) were very clean and professional and took their time showing me how to use the system. So overall I was happy I chose Astro Security, they are local and been in business for a long time and are not pushy.

Have had Astro Security for 25 years. Had to call 4 times to get them to cancel service and now they want to charge me because they cant return a call. Talked to Roy in the office today who was a complete ASSHOLE. He treated me disrespectably and was rude. Terrible customer service. Find another company.

My Wife Mildred, our 9 children, Mother in law Unice and Granny Smith sure feel secure while Im away on deployment. My wife says the technician is out there servicing her at least once a month checking her system.

I had questions about how their systems worked. Spoke with Troy. He was very professional and answered all my questions. It turned out a system wasn’t right for me but he was very open and honest about everything and never made me feel pressured to buy unlike ADT. When I do eventually need a system I will make sure to call Astro back!

We had Astro back to upgrade our alarm system with more automation. They have a great color LED panel now with tons of features and Zwave so you can control lights and locks and thermostats. I can do it all on my Android (or your iPhone) app as well. The new panels are very stylish and impress your friends along. They even had a garage door opener that integrates with the phone app and now I know if someone left the garage door opened because of geofencing alerts us after we’ve gone 1 mile away from the house and the door is opened (or you can check the app any time and notice if it’s opened and simply close it). Wow so many features for such little costs! The app can notify you via alerts on your phone, and/​or email, and/​or texts, and you can set up alerts for others and create new codes for temporary or permanet people via the web app so you don’t need to reprogram a complicated button sequence or call for support!

I called on Feb 26, 2012 at 8.35am (Tuesday) to inquire about the pricing and the receptionist lady who answered said call back on Feb 27th (Wednesday) after 10am. I inquired as to why tomorrow and not today. She responded, all the technicians are out for the day. What happens if you have emergency i.e. burglary in the house. Are they going to tell me they were unavailable, short of staffs or make up other excuses. And on the Angie’s list, they put a smart remark that customers should check the insurance bonds and liability. It will be not their fault if the liability is expired or not renewed. So they expect customers to check their insurance policies each year to make sure they maintain it. I expect them to be honest and upfront. I might as well go with ADT with closed eyes.
