They started off strong but it went down hill fast. We hired ACES to spray foam our add on to our house, first they drove there big trailer in the yard leaving two deep ruts which they said they would fix and never came back to do so. Then we discussed several spaces they were not allowed to spray in due to audio video cables in the wall. When I got home those spaces had been filled with foam they then had to scrape the foam out and in the process the wires were damaged. The before the sale is great after they have the deal, not so much. We are having to fix there mistakes and we will be taking the difference out of there bill. They have now hired an attorney in the matter to collect so beware of this company.

Do yourself a favor and look down a little farther on the SMUD list for a contractor.
I have let some time pass before writing this review so that it is not an emotional diatribe but a rational warning to other consumers based on events and circumstances that can be shown in documented photos and emails.
My husband and I went through the Home Energy program (through SMUD) and chose ACES as our contractor. The audit and sales pitch was great. From the moment our contract was signed, the experience went downhill. While I took full days off of work to be at the house, their workers left after only a few hours. They caused damages to our home that we had to ‘discover’ on our own since they did not see need to let us know about it, and they used shortcuts to try and save themselves money and time. They did not listen to us at all when we tried to voice our concerns on the 2^nd day of the project. In hindsight, I wish I had told them to get out then and there and worked on dissolving our contract rather than letting them finish it.
We called SMUD with our concerns and found out they had not turned in any of the paperwork that was supposed to be turned in. SMUD helped get that resolved, and later we found out that they sent incorrect paperwork to PG&E as well. Fortunately, those specific issues were eventually resolved.
We finally got the project «finished» meaning they met whatever magic numbers they are supposed to meet. The project took much longer to finish than originally estimated, which I find to be totally their fault when their crews did not work full days, and they did not bring issues that were specific to our home to our attention when they found them, but later blamed the delays and project problems on those issues.
We wanted them to fix the damages they caused and compensate us for the extra time we had to take off of work. After weeks of going back and forth, they finally told us that they would compensate us for 3 days of extra time (which was not the full amount), but if they did that then they would not fix any of the damages. They admitted that they were «completely disrespectful of our time», and that they «owned the damage», but said because they were not able to make any money on the project they would not be able to address both issues.
Save yourselves the stress of working with a contractor that does not care about your home or your time, only your money.

Saw the add on Sacramento & Co. so I gave them a call. Did some homework first. They came out and did an energy audit of my home. They recommended windows, doors, insulating the attic, and a new roof. Close to $ 50,000 for all the work.
The problem is that you had no choice of which contractors you could choose to do the work. You have to go with their contractors. For example, the window contractor offers you Anlin windows and there is only one window contractor. You have no choice if you don’t like those.
I shopped around and found the same windows as well as the roofing and got quotes for thousands less. Turns out they give kickbacks to Advanced Energy for feeding them work. Yes you may get a low rate loan (0−3%) but you pay for it in mark up. You have no choice but to go with the company they have chosen.
When there is no competition, the customer ends up by paying more. Plus these guys have had over 20 complaints on BBB website…
Energy audit was okay. Lots of good information but they really did not give me many options. I asked for a solar quote but never got it.
I told them about quote being high. They basically said take it or leave it.
Do yourself a favor and shop around.
Check SMUD’s website for a list of approved contractors first, then do your homework and check them out on the BBB website.
