These guys are great! My son needed repairs on his car after an accident. The front end was damaged, needed tie rods, axle work, and tire. The window had also been smashed in and the car interior vandalized before it had been towed to Ace’s. My son was extremely stressed knowing his financial limitations but still needing the car drivable. Tommy went above and beyond to help. The mechanical issues were fixed, he replaced the window and the broken turn signal, he hammered out the smashed side panel, and he cleaned all the broken glass from the interior of the car. His price was extremely reasonable! Thank you Ace and especially thank you Tommy for your kindness and honest work!

These guys are great. Frank, who works the front desk, is like Bones from Star Trek, cantankerous but deep down he’s a good guy. Tommy is an excellent mechanic. They are honest, fairly priced, and do great work. My only critique is I wish they were open on Saturdays. But you can’t have everything. I go to Vander Hamm Tire in Davis, CA if I need work done on the weekends.

I’ve been coming to Ace Auto Works for years now and have turned a few friends on to them as well. Very quick and reliable work, too. I also know with absolute certainty that I’m getting the best possible deal for whatever car repair I need. Without sacrificing quality. The team at Ace Auto Works are super friendly and they are often open early which makes it easy for me to drop my car off before work. Thanks, guys!

I love coming here, my sister recommended me to get my tires fix here, got it fix it and it doesn’t make any sounds anymore. Plus their customer service is super awesome!!! The people here seems really genuine! Labor is a little pricey but worth it! Frank is awesome as well!!!

So I ask around about an honest mechanic with reasonable prices in my area for my 2002 Nissan Maxima. Ace auto was one of the recommendations I was given. So I called and spoke with Tommy over the phone, I explained he was recommended as an honest mechanic. He asked me what was going on with my car and I told him the problems I was having. Loss of power, sputtering when accelerating on the gas, really strong gas fumes, and check engine light. He said he would take care of me and to come on in, the diagnostic would be $ 85. So far so good, the issue I have is when I showed up at his shop. It was a totally different story, Frank and Tommy both came out to my Nissan and Tommy hooked up the ODB II (code reader) said there was 4 codes that were coming up and that it would take 2 hours to diag so now the price went from $ 85 to $ 170. First of all, little did Tommy know, I was paying attention to the codes and how many popped up along with which ones. There was only 3 and one of them I knew exactly what it was for and I’m 100% sure Tommy did as well. P0306 a misfire on cylinder number 6, a simple replacement of a coil pack. I’m positive Tommy is an educated and knowledgeable mechanic that knew this as well right when he seen it which makes me wonder why would he add another hour to the diagnostic and want to charge double from his original everyday diagnostic price. On top of that, when a shop say’s,“my diagnostic price is $ 85″ it shouldn’t matter if 1 code or 100 codes popped up, you are advertising «CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIAGNOSTICS $ 85» not, check engine light diagnostics only if lol. I don’t know, maybe he was having a bad day or didn’t like the way I was dressed or something because he has such good reviews but then again those are from years ago, so maybe the economy is turning him to a shady mechanic like the rest of these shops out here. Anyways, point is he went back on his original price (basically his word) and he tried to get over on me not knowing I know a bit of mechanics myself, at least enough to not let somebody like this try and squeeze whatever money they could out of me. Nice try Ace Auto, people please do a little homework before letting these guys put there hands in your pockets.

Wonderful staff, took the time to not only take care of my main issue but did extera out of kindness, super fast and, took the time to use the best part without asking extra! will be going back for all my repair needs. :D

As a newby to Sacramento and having to have my car towed, I read reviews and someone mentioned that the shop was trust worthy! Well, she was 110% correct! Tommy found that it was a $ 1.00 fuse that went out and did not make up some horrible story about what was wrong. He also worked on my moms car and got it all fixed up! Tommy is very kind and understanding and you can feel the trust when you met him! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! And now I feel safe knowing I have a place to take my car if any more problems! A friend took me to Ace for a smog and I ended up having my car repaired there. I am a senior citizen (woman) and was so impressed with the way they treated me, I am very leery of auto mechanics, but not anymore! These guys told me everything they were doing, did not do any unnecessary repairs, showed me the old parts and asked if I wanted them. They are very honest and I felt like a customer, not a stupid woman! Thanks guys! I will be recommending you to everyone I know!

I have been going to Ace for as long as I remember. Even though I’ve moved to San Jose, every time I come to Sacramento to visit my family, I take my car in for all mechanical needs– smog checks, oil changes, tune-​ups, you name it! The reason why I choose Ace is simple; I value honesty and excellent work ethics. With so many scammers out there, it’s hard to know if a mechanic is ripping you off.
I took my car in for an oil change in San Jose and the mechanic told me I needed all new brake pads and charged me an enormous amount of money, basically nearly $ 700. When I brought it in to Tommy, he told me I ONLY needed my front brake pads changed and the rear brakes still had a good year’s worth of padding left. What?! I was about to spend over twice as much for extra rear brakes that did NOT need changing yet and there’s no way I would’ve known that if I didn’t double check and go to Tommy.
Generally speaking, you would need to get your car evaluated by three mechanics from different service providers to really know whether you’re paying the right price for service your car actually needs! To me, this is absurd and I am glad I don’t have to deal with all that when I come straight to Ace.
If you want a trustworthy mechanic that’s quick, save yourself time and money and visit Tommy at Ace.

Had just come from being treated rudely and ignored at Horizon Smog on El Camino. Went to Ace Auto Works. Tommy got me right in, was friendly and efficient. My truck passed with flying colors and I was on my way. Didn’t have a coupon for this station but it was well worth the extra $ 10.

Ace Auto is a great place! The owner, Tommy, is very conscientious and a really good mechanic. Frank, the upfront guy/​scheduler/​mechanic is incredibly helpful and totally honest. I would trust these guys with my wallet!
Have to commute to take my car in to these guys as I no longer live in Sacramento. But it is totally worth it because they are honest, don’t overstate the problems with the car, charge reasonable prices and get it done!

I commute to Power Inn & Fruitridge each morning so when my car started acting up on the freeway I saw Ace Auto Works on the corner as I was driving by and decided to Unilocal them. Read great reviews and decided to call and see if he could take a look at my car. I was able to drop it off right away and within 2 hour he called me back with the problem and a few different options to get it fixed. He was very knowledgeable and I didn’t feel any pressure to make a fast decision. I ended up getting part of the work done but will go back to fix the rest when I can.

Great, honest mechanic who knows his stuff. I called him when I was in Tahoe, and he walked me through finding out the problem (small radiator leak). This saved me from having to tow the car back from Tahoe. When I got back to town, he had everything ready for me to get the car repaired. It was fixed and I was back on the road in no time.

Tommy and Frank are the best. They took the time to explain what the problem was with my car and the steps to fix it. It made me feel very comfortable and there prices were very reasonable. I would recommend them. A++ in my book. Thanks Guys

Tommy is the best! He is the real deal and is SO helpful! It is especially convenient since his shop is near the court buildings on Power Inn Rd. So drop off in the morning, walk a block to work pick up after work on the way home! I highly recommend this place. Fair prices, super friendly, and excellent work!

Ace Auto Works is a great automotive repair facility. They do honest work at honest prices. They work on all kinds of vehicles. I have had my car and my husbands fixed here and it has been done right, quickly and there has never been a problem with the vehicle after the repair is completed. I will go back again.

My family has been going to Ace Auto Works for years. Tommy, the owner of the shop, is a really nice guy and, as the previous the reviewer stated, is not out to gouge you. The shop is a no-​frills sort of place but they make up for it in the savings to your pocket. My only complaint is that they are not open on the weekends, oh well — can’t blame a guy for wanting his weekends off — I know I do too!
