Never again!!!
This service was horrible.
I needed assistance with my car and called a locksmith company on El Camino that advertised free estimates, with the BBB seal. They asked a few questions and told me that a technician would call to speak with me. About five minutes later, I received a call from a man saying he would be out at around 5:00 PM to look at the car. The locksmith showed up with his girlfriend in a beat up Dodge Caravan. He sat in my car and told me he needed to call his boss. After about five minutes had passed, he got out my car and went to his van to take out a demonstration ignition (which he did not have a key for; so he and could not show me the way it worked). He went back to my car and sat for two minutes then got out with a receipt for $ 29.99 for him coming out, $ 180.00 for him to remove the ignition, plus any fees for replacement parts.
I immediately told him I was not interested in the service because he was charging an additional fee that other locksmiths had not included. This was the first I heard of $ 29.99 for a «call response» and I was not interested in doing business with him. The website advertised free estimates, and now he is adding a fee for the estimate. He became angry and told me his car did not run on air. He did not come here for free and I better give him his $ 29.99.
I locked my car and told him that the website I went to said free estimates. I called them and they dispatched him. If he wanted that $ 29.99 he needed to contact the people who dispatched him and tell them that he has a fee of $ 29.99 for response and make sure that is clear. At this time, I would not be paying that fee because the advertisement was for free estimates. It made no sense for me to accept a $ 29.99 response fee if I was uncertain that the issue was with the ignition.
The locksmith became very angry and said he was not leaving without the $ 29.99. I told him to call the police, or whatever the policy was for nonpayment, and I would be inside my home waiting. I was not paying that fee when the advertisement was for free estimates. He was very upset and started yelling. I told him just call the police and walked off. As I began walking to my door, he called me a BLACK BITCH and told me THAT’S WHY YOUR CAR DON’T WORK NOW YOU STUPID BITCH. YOU PROBABLY DON’T HAVE ANY MONEY. I told him to call the police again. By the time I went inside and reached my bedroom to look out the window, he was gone.
I do not recommend this place. Not only did he try to charge me an additional fee after the free estimate advertisement, he was also rude. He was also very unprofessional bringing his girlfriend along to the job.
