1031 Photography

Very disappointed! As a bride I want to feel confident in my photographer, but after numerous emails without response (1.5 MONTHS to be exact) we were forced to find another photographer. I understand that the holidays can be a busy time but the least you owe your client who has placed a $ 500 deposit is the courtesy of a response. After 4 voicemails she finally responded via text! She acted as if nothing had happened, blaming her absence on «recent travels». She did not send over a copy of the signed contract, even after asking for it multiple times. After continuous nagging she finally sent a copy 3 weeks AFTER we cancelled. Her actions are unprofessional, unacceptable, and rude! After meeting with Jessica I was full of excitement, but after we paid the $ 500 non-​refundable deposit she went MIA. Even giving her 1 star gives her more credit than she deserves, I wish I was paid $ 500 for not responding to my clients and have a clear mind.

I would like to first say that Jessica is a VERY smooth talker. My fiancé and I were looking for a photographer for our May wedding. We met with Jessica and she came with nice looking pictures, lots of paperwork, and a smooth talker. Long story short, My fiancé and I booked with 1031 photography and put a $ 500 deposit down. Little did we know that Jessica would then go unheard of for over a 1 ½ months. With after numerous calls, emails, txt and no response my fiancée and I had no other choice than to find another photographer, one that responds within a resonable manner. After finally reaching Jessica and telling her that we found another photographer she said she was «very busy the last couple months» and she made sure to let us know that our $ 500 deposit is NONREFUNDABLE! After explaining to her that she was the sole reason we found another photographer due to her unprofessional manner in communication she asked for a writen cancellation policy which I have posted below.
«This email is to inform 1031 Photography of the cancellation of services preciously scheduled for BLANK & BLANK wedding on May 30, 2016. Also when you have the contract please email it to me. I hope you can see that with the delay of response on multiple occasions on your part via email, calls ect. No communication between yourself was the sole reason we discontinued service. I know there was a contract with the „3 day grace period“ but if you look from the customers point of view with no response over 1 ½ months due to trying to communicate wedding specifics and no response what would you have done? If you still feel like you earned the deposit truthfully then it’s yours via „contract“ but on a moral and ethical level I do not believe you earned it.»

There is no customer service here, just looking for $$$. If you want to book a photographer who will go MIA for over 1 ½ months while trying to get the specifics of your event then this is the photographer for you.
