Description

Specialties

Florence M. Lombard Christian Elementary School is a place to learn and grow not just academically, but socially and creatively. It places a strong emphasis on music and art, giving your student as many opportunities as possible for him to find, develop, and grow his own talents and gifts. Your student will learn to play the ukulele and handbells, write a novel, sculpt and paint, act in a movie, photograph and blog their experiences, and much more. The size of our school enables us to provide your student with individualized attention every day, and to tailor their educational experience to suit their individual needs in order to promote the most possible growth. Innovative methods such as the Workbox System will teach your student independence, self-management, self-control, and behavioral choice assessment. Your student will be given an active part in her own education, as well as the education of her peers. But above everything else, FMLCES will guide your child on his or her own special walk with God.

History

The school opened in 1983 but was closed in 1998, until it was reopened in 2010 and housed in a new section of the building designed with the needs of the students in mind.

Meet the Manager

Mia P.

Manager

Hi! My name is Mia, and I am the Principal and Teacher of Florence M. Lombard Christian School.

I am originally from Dayton, Ohio, and lived there for 20 years before moving to Maine in the summer of 2012 after falling in love with the state and its sky during a family vacation.

For the first ten years of my education, I was homeschooled by my grandmother and took extracurricular classes through Spring Valley Academy. During the 2008 – 2009 school year, I enrolled as a full-time student and graduated at age sixteen. In 2013, I graduated from Western Governors University in 2013 at age twenty with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education after completing my student teaching at Pine Tree Academy in Freeport, ME. That same year, I became the principal and teacher at FMLCS. I have developed a deep passion for instilling a sense of creativity and a love for learning in young children, in the hope these traits will last them throughout their educational career.
