We were going to be in the area, and wanted to find a place worth grabbing breakfast. The story of Baba A Louis(Rutland location) being sold to Roots Restaurant had me intrigued. We tried their egg, cheese and bacon on a house made English muffin. They had two kinds of English muffins at the time — white or wheat. We went with the wheat. These English muffins are huge! Not the standard size you get at the supermarket. Then put 2 fried eggs on it, cheese, and some thick sliced bacon. The only down side is… there was a ton of oil from the bacon(5 stars otherwise). It soaked through the parchment paper wrapper, and the brown paper bag. I think they cook the eggs and bacon on the electric griddle — and the bacon fat doesn’t seem to drip off. Not to say that I would order it again, just with more napkins. :-) I also bought some bagels(not sure if they make these), English muffins and a loaf of Sour Wheat Barley bread. Will try some of this tomorrow and update the review.

What a cute little bakery/café/sandwich place. The ambience is inviting and the music was comfortable. The tomato basil soup was delicious. Very flavorful and the bowl was more than I could eat. The fresh baked roll was a nice compliment. My only complaint was that it wasn’t quite hot enough, but that didn’t detract from the flavors. The selection I’d fresh baked goods looked wonderful but I was too full to go down that path. Nice options for tea and coffee. I opted for a green tea latte which came out as expected. A short walk from the train station/Walmart plaza and well worth it.
