Paul R. Ehrmann, DO

I was a new patient to this office. When I showed up they did not have my appointment down, which I had made 6 weeks in advance. The receptionist spoke to the manager, whom spoke to the doctor. My appointment was mistakenly can led by them instead of another patient. They accommodated me. The whole time I was there everyone was friendly and professional. Dr. Ermann was very personable with me. He did not make me feel rushed. I’m happy to find an office to develop a report with.

Dr Ehrmann treated my Father for more than 30 years, and my mother for same time They both trusted him with their lives… and he let them down! My father died ⁵⁄₂ with an incarcerated hernia, this was an advanced condition that had progressed and went undetected for… how long? Ehrmann did not care ENOUGH… to try to find out what truly was ailing my father, he was just a Science project AND revenue stream. Ehrmann let our family down by ignoring signs that were clearly visible because my father was Elderly. Give him a pill, do tests that bring you big $$ and just keep ‘em coming back. TOTALLY disappointed in how Ehrmann manages the Elderly, and willing to be vocal about it. I understand the Elderly sometimes just give up… my beef is that he know how the Elderly trust in their Drs. and he NEVER tried to help improve the quality of his life… Ehrmann medicated him and did NOT see important warning signs.

I was very impressed with this practice. The supporting healthcare staff was fantastic. All professional and friendly. You know they make all the difference.
Dr. Helen Ostro-​Brown was a very good provider, spent time getting to know me and I feel will be a great provider for years to come. Very easy to speak with.
I’m so glad to finally find an all around awesome primary care provider!

Updating my review as Dr Panozzo is no longer at this location. I’ve been seeing Dr Paul and he’s great too. They just went back to being a private practice and it’s better. I had so many issues with billing before but not now. Yay!
Dr Paul is very friendly, listens, and actually remembers the prior conversations you’ve had with him. His nursing staff is great too. I’ve never felt like a number — always a patient with individual needs.
I never have a problem getting an appointment — sometimes even same day.

As my primary care doctors, this practice has let me down too many times for me to recommend. Prescription refill problems were strike one. The cursory bedside manner was strike two. Excessive waits getting worse over the last two years broke the camel’s back. Though I hate searching for a physician all over again, I am taking my business elsewhere.
I have been going to Dr. Paul for routine health care issues, like check-​ups, annual healthy women exams, and prescription renewals. He has been increasingly unavailable for morning appointments, so I’ve used Dr. Helen Ostro-​Brown and Dr. Kristin Panozzo rather than wait. Dr. Paul is a friendly doctor with an approachable air. Dr. Helen, a fellow ex-​pat Canadian, has a great approach to explain things, and she is thorough and capable. When we had a power outage during an appointment, she carried on without missing a beat. I found her to be reassuring.
I always aim for an early morning slot (8AM-​ish) and show up early, but Dr. Paul’s office operates on its own schedule. Today’s visit took the cake: I was 20 minutes early, and 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment, Dr. Panozzo still hadn’t seen me despite telling the nurses I had to be at work by a certain time. While the doctor has the luxury of setting her schedule, I don’t get to come into work whenever I feel like it. No real sense of urgency here.
Actual face time with the doctor is very short and often uninformative. I’d like a bit more than 5 minutes to discuss concerns or treatment for the issue which brought me in. Dr. Paul confirmed my first pregnancy and sent me on my way with a phone number for a specialist, and no suggestions for diet or personal care. A little more information would be welcome when I don’t know the questions to ask. Talk about feeling blown off.
The front staff are a kind group who take calls and process information smoothly. In the case of equipment malfunctions or slow systems, they are quick to make alternate arrangements (fax details, photocopy, make calls later). Their waiting area is well-​stocked with magazines, seats, and fortunately a separate children’s room that’s almost completely walled off.
Communication needs improvement between doctors, patients, and pharmacies. CVS in Ferndale told me they needed an inhaler renewal authorized by Dr. Paul. I called right afterwards and spoke with one of the reception staff. By the next morning, CVS still waited for confirmation. Three days playing phone tag finally got what I needed. The doctor’s office did not confirm the Rx refill was approved nor did CVS. This is fairly problematic, especially for medication that cannot be interrupted or is critical for a patient (like inhalers for asthma sufferers).
