Planet Fitness – Roy

If you’re looking for a gym where you can just go and casually workout and you’re not trying to get massive and be an Olympic athlete… Then I would say this is your place.
I’m not a meat head and I don’t enjoy having grunting contests and carrying around a protein shake bottle and only working out my upper body so I love it here. I work out to feel good and get a full body workout. This place is really clean and really big. It has a little bit of everything and they offer it all at a really cheap price.
The main thing that keeps me going here is the fact that they want their customers to have a great experience here without feeling like they have to worry about what others are going to do or say. It’s a pretty friendly place. The other thing is the price. It’s $ 10 a month for just a normal membership with whole access to all of the gym. You won’t find a cheaper price!
Like I said, if you’re training to be an Olympic heavy weight lifter, go somewhere else. If you’re just l looking to get in shape and put on a little muscle, go here! I love it.

Admittedly, this isn’t the best gym out there or even the best in the area. But considering the price that you pay and the hours they are open this is definitely above average.
I have been to this gym anywhere from early morning til after midnight and I’m always able to get a type of machine that I’m looking to use. The staff have been generally really nice and acknowledge you. This means that they greet you when you enter and most times tell you to have a good day/​night when you leave. Even though this isn’t a requirement I look for in a good gym, it’s still nice.
I typically go and do cardio and then I alternate between their 12 minute abs area and their 30 minute express work out. Even though I have yet to use the other machines I see people in the machine and free weight areas often. There’s just enough people to make it not seem dead and yet not too many to make it seem over whelming. Oh, on another note, even when the gym is fairly busy I haven’t noticed any sorts of odor. That’s always a plus at the gym!

Never had an issue, they can be a bit strict with their regulations regarding their contracts. I get greeted when I enter and leave about 99% of the time which really ain’t a big deal. Water pressure kinda sucks when you have two side by side and when someone else uses the fountain next to you, yours would lose pressure. Their equipment rarely breaks and the folks there are usually good with returning equipment. The highest dumbbell free weight is 75 pounds and I guess the best part is most folks who come here don’t make funny noises… Usually.

Do not sign up at this gym. Brooke, the manager, is seriously lacking in her customer service skills. Additionally, if you get serious about working out you will quickly find that Planet Fitness will not fit your needs and you will have to sign up at another gym. The ONLY thing that P Fitness has over Gold Gym (which is right across the street) is that they are open on Sundays. Golds offers a pool, cardio classes, better workout equipment, and child care. If your goal is just to sit on cardio equipment all day, sign up at P Fitness. If your goal is to actually work out, sign up at Golds or another gym. I made the mistake of signing up here and Brooke refused to cancel my membership after only 8 days without me having to pay a $ 60 cancelation fee. If you sign up here, you will regret it.

I joined yesterday and really enjoyed my first workout. I enjoy the atmosphere they have created there. I joined a gym once when I was 18 and hated it the second I walked in. A bunch of hulking roidheads throwing weights around and staring at themselves in the mirror/​sloppily hitting on every woman that walked by. I felt uncomfortable as a chubby kid just trying to lose weight.
At Planet Fitness, people are there to get in better shape. People keep to themselves and don’t seem to be there to hook up with each other. The equipment is very well maintained and clean. The temperature in the building was just right. The PF Express is a really cool way to get a full body workout in 30 minutes. The locker rooms were clean.
About the only thing I found strange was that they have a monthly pizza night, and they have candy at the reception desk. It’s pretty hilarious, and I give them props for being funny. But I could see how some people would feel like that was counterproductive. It’s pretty easy to just choose to avoid it, though.
I look forward to going 5 days per week. $ 10 per month is easy. No contract, in case I decide to just stay a fatty. Planet Fitness is where it’s at!
