I got my gel manicure done here. — I did not get enough color layers so I could see through the gel a little bit — It’s chipping off sooner than gel manicures I’ve gotten from other salons But: — The staff are very nice people and you feel comfortable. — The gel manicure is doable for only 25 dollars I would go again if I want to save 10 bucks and am okay with it lasting only two weeks.

The best. I continue to receive compliments on my nails all the time!!! A customer for almost 20 years, I would never consider going else where. Tom, Ann and Ken are the best. My nails look great even after a few weeks. Well worth my long drive. Clean and professional.

I have been coming here for years and I’ve never been disappointed. Ken has been making sure that my mani/pedi is ONPOINT! Very clean and friendly staff. Every time I get ready to leave on a trip, he takes me even on very short notice. My feet LOVE Ken. I develop extra dry skin due to my eczema and he knows exactly how to make my feet feel like a newborn baby’s skin. Couldn’t ask for a better nail tech!

The highest quality work by FAR to be found anywhere in the vicinity and SO much personality in this shop, every visit is full of laughs and great convo. All of the techs here are great, I was introduced to the shop by one of my sorority sisters and her mom who have both been going to T&J for years — one to see Ann and the other to see Tom(my tech is Ken). The acrylic is always natural-looking. My full set never has that thick stumpiness at the tip, instead the nails are thin but sturdy and the acrylic never lifts around the edges — even WEEKS after it’s done. Pedicures are top notch and very thorough, and unlike most other shops the techs here are great at teaching you how to make your pedi last and keep your skin soft between visits. Appointments are not necessary, but highly recommended because customers here are very loyal and most have standing appointments. The prices seem high at first, but once they start working you realize very quickly that the quality makes it worth every penny. Give them a try, you won’t regret it!

Definitely the best acrylic work in Boston. The salon is not fancy but they are very clean. Joe gives the best pedicure ever. I’ve been to the fancy places and T&J can not be topped as far as the work they put in on your nails. My hands are constantly in water and I have gotten nail fungus from water getting under the acrylic. Never had lifting ever with T&J. My nails are always beautiful and I have acrylics that look natural. That’s how good Joe is. It’s all family that work there 3 brothers and 1 sister. They are all very nice and good at what they do. I’m telling you that pedicure. Mmmmmm. He turns my crusty soles to baby soft skin. He puts in work and is very meticulous. They take pride in their work and do it right. 50 Full set, 20 fill, 30 pedi, 30 shellac. Reasonable prices for the value.

I have been gettig my nails done with Tom for over 10 years. He is the cats meow when it come to this sort of thing. Tom is excellent at what he does and he wont take anyones ish. I actually respect him for it. I have come to the realization that if you speak to him about a problem, then he will try to fix it. I have had 1 problem in over 10 years and I know I didnt want to go elsewhere so I told him what I had a problem with and its hasnt happened again. He is very busy so I highly recommend an appointment. He is pricey but I wouldnt go cheap when it comes to nails. They have relocated to a newer location and the furniture(including the spa pedicures) are soooo comfortable. The bathroom is always clean and you always end up laughing with something funny he says or does. Also, they take their time to do a manicure or a pedicure or acrylics and I appreciate it. Ann, Ken, and Joe are also great at manicures & pedicures.

Terrible! I went in for a mani, they messed up my cuticles and gave me a half done nail polish coating, and it was pricey. I will never go back!

Terrible! My cuticles look like they were cut up! It was pricier than the nicer salon I usually go to and the manicure was awful. The man that did my nails tore apart the skin on one of my thumbs. When there are such nicer places that are cheaper in the area, I don’t know why anyone would come here!

Just like Winnie E., I’ve been a customer at T&J Nails for several years and just like her, I had a falling out with one of the employees(he no longer works there). Not the owner fortunately, but that wouldn’t stop me from going back. I think they do the best work and I’ve been to a lot of nail salons. They don’t skip any steps and you always come away satisfied. Yes, I admit, this isn’t the place to go if you’re looking for a Canyon Spa type manicure and pedicure experience, but for us urban dwellers, it’s cool. John, one of the original owner’s of T&J had left years ago(17 to be exact), but he’s coming back to the South End salon to do nails again(not that he ever stopped, he was working at his salon in Rhode Island). I think Winnie E. should give T&J another chance, but have John take care of you — he’s the master nail technician — and since he’s just starting back in Boston, he’ll need to build up his customer base again. And in the 20+ years that he’s been doing my nails, I’ve never seen him argue with a customer.

I’m a guy, so I just get a pedicure and buff. Anne is the best that I have come across. After one of her pedicures, my toenails are shining for weeks! It is a nice treat during the long winter months to relax and be pampered. The lower leg and foot massage are why I really go, I just wish it was longer, like an hour — I’m sure that she is glad it isn’t. The reason for 3 stars is the overall décor and the fact that the family that works there end up talking to each other in Vietnamese while I’m having my services and there is usually a loud TV on a Vietnamese music video station. Kind of takes away from the experience a little. So, if you want a GREAT pedicure, for a very reasonable price, this is a good find. If you want to be pampered and coddled, better pass on this one.

very unprofessional, On the pricey side, but I hate to admit it, does beautiful work on acrylic nails! Was going there for 12 years + from Randolph, every 3rd Sunday morning, but I had a falling out with the owner, doesn’t know how to treat his loyal clients! Oh well, I needed to save money anyway.
