Roxbury General is a modern general store with an array of carefully curated gifts and necessities for all occasions, many handmade by local artisans and conveying a Catskills theme. Jewelry, pottery, pantry items, accessories, woolen goods, cards, stationery, clothing, toys, even hardware are available.
History
Established in 2014.
Opened in January of 2014, we – Doug and Robin – started thinking about the store soon after we bought a vacation home in Roxbury a few years ago. Doug’s retirement offered the opportunity to open the store and bring a general merchandise emporium back to Roxbury residents and visitors.

After working in publishing in New York and environs for 30 years, Doug retired to his and his wife’s home in Roxbury. Together with his wife, they opened Roxbury General, a labor of love and lots of fun.
