Tatiano’s Italian Restaurant

We’ve tried this place a couple of times. Service is slow, even though it’s not crowded. I give two stars for atmosphere. It is a nice atmosphere and the food is ok. Maybe average.

Good Sicilian pizza. Sicilian crust is nice. The pizza sauce is a standard pizza sauce, very saucy.

7pm on Thursday, not crowded at all. We ordered coffee and they said their coffee pot was broke and wouldn’t have it repaired until the next day. Ordered tea next and it tasted like it was left over from lunch or possibly the previous day. Caesar salad was OK, it did however have one piece of wilted lettuce. All waitresses used a rolling cart to bring food and drinks to your table including 1 or two drinks at a time. Pizza was average at best. Restaurant is clean overall and décor is very inviting.

Wish I could love this place, but there’s nothing special about the food. I ordered linguini Alfredo and the sauce had no flavor, I felt like I was eating noodles with butter water. The crab claws, however, are delicious. Go here if you’d like, but don’t expect too much from the food.

I knew when the waitress pulled our plates to the table in a cart we were in trouble. Ordered Chicken Alfredo and it was drowning in Alfredo Sauce. Pizza crust was soggy. Saturday night and it was only 4 to 5 tables occupied and the service was extremely slow! Would never return.

Was a little disappointed here tonight. I had pretty good luck here twice before but tonight may have just been an off night for Tatiano’s. The service was slow and intermittent. The waitress did not know if they served draft beer or bottled beer and «yes we have Cabernet — we’ve got red, white, and a chianti». Seriously! The veal dish was favorably good but the portion was extremely small, six ounces at best. Like I say, may have been just an off night.

My husband and I used to eat there several times a week. We have been eating there for years… even before they moved to their current location. The pizza is delicious but that’s about it. The service is horrifically slow! We have had several items on the menu (pizza, crab claws, cheese bread, spaghetti angelina, pepper steak) and have been more and more disappointed with each visit. When we both came home with food poisoning it was the last straw. My salmon was awful. We are saddened to see this place go downhill but we will not be eating there again and can’t believe the doors are still open for business.

I would go back. The servers are all high school age, so be prepared for that. I think they all did a great job though. We happened to be driving by and it looked like a nice place from the outside. The inside is very pretty and clean. I actually liked the blue lighting, it kept my son entertained. The place filled up as we waited for our food. The prices are a little high. For three adults and one child our bill was $ 70. The glasses are small so if you drink a lot be prepared to wait for a refill. The cold pasta salad was great. The pizza was thin crusted and crunchy. My nephew and I both enjoyed our pasta dishes and my son liked his kids chicken. We saw our neighboring table eating an Italian cream cake so we had to get one to share. It was great. We will probably go again one day. :]

Ella and Alan are the warmest people. I have a beverage brand preference, and they stocked up just for me.
Alan crafts authentic italian fare that reminds me of my mom’s (another Italian!). If you want «same ol’ I-​talian» go to Olive Garden. If you want the real deal, head to Tats and give Ella a hug on the way out.

We live very close to Tatiano’s and have been wanting to try it. There always seems to be plenty of cars outside so we thought it must be good. We were wrong. Its not that the food tastes bad but the service is terrible. We both ordered pasta dishes (me shrimp primavera, my husband lasagna) which come with a salad. Our salads were served right away and were drenched with dressing, literally. We asked three times for bread and kept being told it wasn’t ready. It finally arrived after we were through with our salads. Then, we waited another hour for our food to arrive. We seriously thought they forgot about us until we heard the family at the table behind us begin to complain. We overheard them tell the waitress that they couldn’t believe how long they were having to wait before getting their food. The waitress said, «im sorry, were swamped» The husband said, «Where exactly are you swamped? Theres only six tables occupied here!» She said, «were busy in the bar and we serve food in there too.» Well, by the time we got our meals, I have to admit that I wasn’t hungry anymore. It’s a good thing because I counted only 5 shrimp in my whole meal. Quite stingy for a $ 12 entrée. My husband said his was okay but was also a small portion for the price. All in all, we will stick with Cosa Nostra in the Albertson’s shopping center. Its just a couple of blocks away and is consistently great.

This place is just about the worst you will ever find. It is amazing how they keep the doors open. Do not slow down at this place. Speed up and go somewhere else unless you want extremely bad food and draggy service from I don’t care teenagers. A real looser.

This is not the worst place I have eaten but a mediocre at best. We don’t eat Italian often but we know what we like and this place has no «taste» to the food. And quite expensive for the area and quality. We have been here once and do not plan to go back. We will travel a bit further out to try another place or go to our favorite places. Too bad, really, the atmosphere was pretty cool.

We used to like Tatianos when they were in their old location. However, a recent visit will be our last. We took my mom there for her birthday and it was a mistake.
As others have noted, the lighting is awful. The curved ceilings are neat, but the blue light illuminating them is not a good idea. It makes the marniara sauce look like Mole, and gives a blue cast to everything.
Had the food been good, we could have overlooked the odd coloring of our food, however, it wasn’t. On the night we went, there were two waiters, who (they said) were also cleaning tables, RESTROOMS!!!, and helping in the kitchen. There were 6 dirty tables in our vicinity which remained so throughout our meal. The food took forever, and my pasta was so hot I couldn’t eat it for 5 minutes. I cook pasta very often (ask my kids) and I have never encountered pasta that hot, even straight from the boiling water. The food was obviously microwaved.
The food was also bland and flavorless.
As I said, we loved their previous location near the hospital and the faux outdoor café setting. We didn’t like the walk through the smoky bar to get to the dining area, but the food was very good. Unfortunately that is no longer the case.
Given the ambiance, the quality of the food, the fact that our waiter was cleaning the bathroom while serving us and the cost, we will not be returning. I would have given 0 stars if I could.
It appears that the new facility has caused the owners to take on more than they could handle and the quality of the service and food seems to reflect that.

GAG! If you think Chef Boyardee from the can is Italian, you might like this place. I won’t even go into the weird, eerie lighting.

This is a great restaurant — The food is excellent!
However, it takes FOREVER!
They are also (or can be) one of the most expensive places in town.
Meal for 3 — $ 60 plus tip, 2 hours on a night where they weren’t busy (Wednesday).
Take out for one — $ 15 (Alfredo (no chicken, veggies, or shrimp) and a side salad), said it would be 20 minutes, it took 50 — and I had to «remind» them once.
A few personal notes:
*Pizza is hand made /​thin, like cracker crust
*Unless you order bread, you’ll get the cheap stuff
*Appetizers are good, but pricey
*The «side menu» is great and really affordable. Probably the best deal on the menu
*CALL IN and take out is best
*The restaurant has cool blue lighting, which is nice, but can be bothersome after a while
*Sound is bad /​loud /​hard to hear the person next to you.
*No matter what they say, at least DOUBLE your wait time
Like I said, some of the best food in town, but don’t expect to dine reasonably or be on a schedule. I’d say go if you have good company, but since you can’t hear them, take a book.
Or, call an hour or so ahead of time for take out.

Since their move across the street to a newer, bigger location, the overall appeal of Tatiano’s has waned for me. What used to be mom & pop, where the owner made everything himself, has given way to a big blue restaurant with what I assume are new cooks. (The indoor track lighting is blue and doesn’t appeal to me at all). I’m giving Tatiano’s 3 stars now for nostalgia, though the food on my last two visits was really a 2. Their salad dressing recipe has changed… it seems watered down now or maybe its just cheaper ingredients.
I went right after the new location opened and tried to order a meatball sandwich. They were on a shortened menu as they grew into the new location though and were not serving them. This would not have bothered me except they clearly had all of the ingredients in house to make the sandwich (house bread, meatballs, sauce, cheese). Something about the new location just feels like a shell of the original… I wish they hadn’t moved!

This is probably the worst place I have every eaten.
I have eaten at this place at least 4 time it has never been a good experiance I know some like it and will say I am crazy but take it from a fat guy who looves his Italian Food this place is the worst.
I am sory to have to write this and i am sure some will be upset but i call them as I see them. or in this case taste them.
also the new place with its Blue lighting gave a a head ache so bad I had to go home and sit a dark room for like an hour.
