The inside is pretty nice! It’s a huge improvement from before. The waiters were really nice too! The food is really good and cheap as well! The portion sizes are pretty good. I feel like two people could probably share one main dish. My dad got the seafood fried rice, which was a little too salty for me, but still very delicious! I got the baked spinach and fish with pasta, which was ok. It wasn’t very flavorful, but there was a lot of fish in it, which made me happy ^_^. I think it’ll probably be better to go for the heavier flavored like marinara or something for the baked items. My mom got the medium rare steak and it was actually very tender and tasty. I might get that next time! All our dishes came with soup. I got the cream of corn soup, which was super delicious! I’ll definitely be back to try out more dishes :)

This right here is a family favorite. It’s very near the 60 freeway, which makes it very easy to get to. We had lunch here yesterday before heading home after a weekend stay in OC. One of my favorite dishes is the Rib Eye with Pork Chops in Mushroom Sauce. The sauce is a beef sauce with fresh mushrooms. It is incredible. You get a nice size piece of Rib Eye steak and Pork chop and it comes with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes. The service is so so, but the quality of the food makes up for it. You may have to wait to get some water but it is a great value for such great food.

I didn’t even eat the food. This is about the service. I went there with my mom and brother for breakfast. We sat down and looked at the menu and were immediately ready to order. We tell the waiter and he nods and goes back to stacking the takeout boxes. We wait and my mom calls him again and he ignores us. Then a waitress walks over and we are like finally but she turns and helps the only other table in this restaurant. This is unacceptable, ignoring a customer and not being any help at all. We got impatient and we just left.

Spongey overcooked omelette. Tastes like it was microwaved. DONOTORDERIT!!! You are better off ordering a Caesar salad here. Their porridge was flavorless, I took half a sip and didn’t want anymore. If you’ve eaten at legit-good Chinese restaurants, there’s always ALWAYS some sort of flavor in the porridge(no need to add salt or flavoring yourself). Their pork knuckle was very big, kind of salty, and dry. The only decent thing is their tomato/vegetable soup. Tastes a bit watered down, but still acceptable. Their Thai ice tea is also decent, but maybe add a little water cause the ice tea is a tad too concentrated compared to the ice teas I’ve had at Thai restaurants. OVERALL If you like cheap, oversized portions, and don’t care much for how your food tastes, then this is your type of restaurant. If you think taste is more important than quantity, don’t bother coming here. You’d be wasting your $ 10. Go to chipotle instead. Tastes 20x better. And you’d be getting higher quality food too.

This café has been around forever. I first came here with a date at 16(i’m 34 now so do the math). It’s probably been around even longer. I just know its been around for as long as the plaza itself has been around. Came here for lunch and got the club sandwich with fries to-go. Yes, i know i could have gotten better but i was in a hurry and wanted something that could be cooked fast. I was feeling western. What could you do. Sandwich was your typical club sandwich along with your typical reheated frozen fries. Nothing special there. A lot of people though(reason why it’s still around) so be prepared. *They don’t make soufflé anymore or at least they didn’t at the time when i asked*

I’ve been coming here with my family ever since I was young. This is one of the best Hong Kong style cafes in Rowland heights area. Everything on the menu is great. You can get free refills on some coffees and teas. Every meal also comes with soup and if you ask, you can get a dinner roll. The price is also very affordable for the big portion sizes. They have a special afternoon tea menu that is very cheap with the certain drinks included. They also have breakfast sets in the morning. Try their buttered pineapple bun with a hot cup of coffee! It’s heaven. Service is nice and quick. Sometimes there’s a long wait, mostly on the weekends during lunch time. One con would be that they have so many different choices in the menu, it is too hard for me to choose just one!

I had fish cake and shrimp w/vermicelli in tomato fish broth and Macau Style Pork Chop Bun. A hot tea for a drink. The soup was good but the vermicelli felt like it was just soaked in water and not boiled to cook at all. Most of the bowl was vermicelli. The drink was good. The Hong Kong Lemon Tea is better.

My wife and I had the Sizzling Filet Mignon. It was delicious! Where else can you get a huge steak of this size and quality for $ 16.00? It came with soup, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, and rice. More food than most people can eat! We had the fried chicken wings with spicy salt for an appetizer. They were over the top delicious as well. The service was every bit as good as the food!

I’ve been coming to this place ever since I can remember. the food here is delicious. however, I came here on a Monday night with barely anyone here and after waiting here for 20 minutes, the waiter tells my party that she forgets to put in the order. However, after coming here for so long, I have to say the food is delicious and well worth the price. Definitely try the pork neck with their spaghetti!

My family and I have been coming to this place for 20 years now. It’s been a staple in RH because of its late night hours and extensive and affordable canto-euro menu. I remember growing up as a kid and always getting the chicken steak meal or baked bolognese. Fast-forward to Tuesday night, when my sister and I went for a late dinner. Usually a packed establishment on weekends, Garden was pretty empty around 9pm. Not having been here for a good couple years, I was amazed at the amount of food offered in their chef’s special menu. We both got the chicken steak + pork chop + filet mignon cubes meal for $ 15!!! Literally 3 meals in one, since it comes with soup du jour, veggies(frozen pack), and rice/pasta(their cheap pasta is a staple for guilty pleasure food). The food is touted as consistent, and that can be both good and bad. This time around, the food was as good as can be for these types of establishments, save for ONETHING: a hair found in my sister’s dish. That ruined what would have been a great meal. Alas, they took her dish off the check, but don’t expect much more than that. 2 stars for the affordable but hair-infused trifecta of meat.

Oh man, my family and I used to come here bi-weekly, if not weekly, because the food is consistently pretty good, there’s big portions, and it’s also affordable. There is usually a wait during the rush hours, but it goes by quickly because it’s a pretty big restaurant. It’s a standard Cantonese restaurant where everyone has a lemon iced tea with their meals, but Garden Café also offers their take on American food(sandwiches) and other Asian flavors(Thai, Singapore, etc.) Service is quick, they try to get you in and out of there as quickly as possible. You have to know that they have different tiers of servers, you can only order with specific servers! My family and I usually get the grilled proteins that come with either rice or noodles(which is very basic spaghetti), some veggies(the frozen peas, carrots, green beans, and corn that come in a bulk bag), and mashed potatoes. We’ve gotten the short ribs, the pork chop, the chicken steak, the sole fillet, pork knuckle, you name it. It’s all good, and if you come during lunch, it’s like $ 8 or $ 9, which is a pretty good price. We’ve also gotten the Thai Green Curry w/Fish before and it was a favorite for awhile and the Tom Yum soup with vermicelli. We’ve also gotten the regular Chinese Curry w/Beef and caution, their curry is spicy!!! All were good, but we always seem to go back to the grilled proteins. This time, I decided to get the Pasta w/Lamb Shank because I was craving lamb. The spaghetti isn’t the same as the basic one you get with the grilled protein plate, but instead it had some sort of meat sauce on it and it was good. The lamb shank was pretty good and there was a good amount of meat on it. They also had sautéed peppers and onions on top, which could’ve been sautéed for a little longer, but once mixed in the sauce, it was good. I think this might be my new favorite dish. It’s a little pricer than the other dishes($ 11.95 for lunch), but I still think it’s a good price. During lunch, you can add a drink(only certain drinks) for $ 1.95 and you get a free refill! We got the iced coffee w/boba, thai tea w/boba, and milk tea w/boba. The drinks were too sweet for my tasting, but I also prefer zero sugar in my drinks when I go to boba stores, and the boba was way too hard. I think we’ll pass on the drinks next time, or just get the iced tea w/lemon that everyone gets. All entrees, come with a soup, and you can choose between«white soup» and«red soup,» which is what my family calls it. The white soup is similar to a corn chowder, but with way less flavor, and the red soup is similar to a tomato broth. I prefer the red soup, but everyone else in my family prefers the white. Both are good! I’ll probably be back because this place is forever etched in my life, but glad I found something new to get/there’s definitely more stuff on the menu that’s worth the try.

I’ve been here many times. I order a few of the same dishes every time I come here. It’s so close to home and during the weekends it gets packed if you go around 11am or 12pm. I’ve seen people wait outside for their number to be called. Food: Every time I go, I would order the *Cheese Rice with Fillet Fish or the *Curry with Beef(spicy). For me, those are my comfort food. The price isn’t even expensive. A big dish is around $ 10 and you get full. **They charge for tea** Décor: very nice, clean, and open inside, there are mirrors on the other side of room which makes the room bigger. Sometimes when I go the place is dim and sometimes it’s bright. Maybe it varies the time you go… Service: is pretty poor. You have to call them to get any service, like water refill or anything. Hours: Weekdays, they close at 1am, and weekends, they close at 4am!!! A lot of people come because after clubbing they want to sober up haha!!! Parking: there’s a lot of parking spaces so you don’t have to worry. Note: *probably not the right name of the dish

Meh. Only thing this Garden has, is that it’s open late when everything else is closed nearby. Most of our food came under-seasoned and we had to ask for the condiments(chili oil, soy, etc) and sriracha. I had gotten a wonton noodle soup and wondered how that can be messed up. The noodles were over cooked. Wonton was bland. Overall meh. Overall, if nothing else is open — this is a go to. It’s just the taste of food here is so underwhelming. Makes the ones in SGV(namely, the one in Alhambra) such a better spot to go to versus the one in Rowland Heights. Located in the same plaza as Hong Kong Market and Chengdu taste. Plenty of parking at night.

This restaurant is like an Asian Denny’s. All kinds of food on the menu, all kinds of calorie loaded boba drinks, open till the wee hours of the morning. We ordered the dinner specials and it was well worth the price in quantity. The quality though was what you didn’t pay for. Overall it was edible and I could imagine really loving this stuff at 2am after a night out drinking. I would not crave the food here just because. Service was quick and friendly and the place appeared clean and orderly. Parking was easy and each booth had a TV playing football! Maybe a goodplace to hang out on game days.

Solid 3 stars at best. We came here for lunch around 1pm I think on a Thursday. It was busy and maybe a five-minute wait. Parking was not an issue here as it was shared with other places around so plenty of parking. The menu had a lot of variety from steak to curry to ramen. We ordered the Kurobata Pork Ramen in Soup($ 8.50), the Chicken Curry($ 8.50) and the Wok Fried Shrimp & Pine Nut w/Szchuan Spicy Sauce($ 12.95). The Kurobata Pork Ramen in Soup’s broth was more of a Chinese-styled broth and didn’t taste like Japanese ramen even though it looked like it. The pork was good and same with the noodles. The Chicken Curry was okay and the Wok Fried Shrimp & Pine Nut w/Szchuan Spicy Sauce was not bad. I also had their Boba Iced Tea($ 3.25) which was more on the sweet side to me. The service was almost non-existant because it took awhile for a waiter to take our order; in addition, they seemed to ignore us when we needed something. The food here was okay but service could be better a lot better.

My first time at Rowland Garden Café and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with how clean the tables and the organization of this place. It was during a weekend late at night that we decided to pop into this place and I can’t believe they open till 4am during the weekends. If you are looking for a chill spot to come and eat with friends I think this place is a pretty good idea. It wasn’t really busy and yes there are people here but it wasn’t packed to the point where you can’t hear the other person while they are talking. So I enjoy that part. Food wise they have a lot on the menu from different meat options and to noodles and rice plates. Also they have specials that you can choose from and decide what you would like. So there was a special that had steak a side of either pasta or rice that comes with soup, mashed potatoes and veggies also shrimp and scallops with some creamy sauce. Decided to get the pasta which was made with tomato sauce and put on the side of the main dish. The steak tasted pretty good for how cheap the order was. I believe it was like $ 14.99 for everything. Shared the dish and was super full from it. Being that it was a pretty late dinner. Wouldn’t mind coming back and trying other things on the menu at all! Service was really quick and the food did not take long at all! So if you in the Rowland area looking for a meal to grab and eat I would suggest try this place out for sure especially since the portions are big and to me it does remind me a little bit of Asia. :)

I rate this place 4 stars for the consistently delicious GRILLEDCHICKENSTEAK and INDONESIANFRIEDRICE. The dine-in service is actually pretty good — we got multiple water/tea refills without request, food came out in good time, and dishes were promptly cleared as needed. My only gripe is the quality of beefs stinks. Don’t order it ever, even if you are really really intrigued by the«wagyu beef,» «kobe beef,» «NY steak,» or «filet mignon» specials. I’ve made this mistake one too many times — the«steaks» are fatty, gritty, chewy, and have a funny flavor. Also, if you order the chicken wings(which are pretty tasty), they don’t come out until after you’re almost done with your entrees. The side veggies, mashed potatoes, and spaghetti remind me of frozen dinners, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing to me. Overall, Garden Café is comforting and delicious, so long as you stick to my recommendations. Enjoy!

So I loved this place back in the days. Yeah the service might’ve not been great before, but it’s never been THIS bad. I’m 99% positive that every employee at this places HATES their job because the customer service is the worlds worst. From their lack of smiles, words, and horrible attitude, I can only deduct that they either get paid WAY below the industry minimum or the manager/boss abuses them in the back. Either way, everyone here is rude beyond reasoning, mean mugs you throughout your order, and goes out of their way to ignore you when you’re flailing your arms in the air like a mad man. It was okay that they charge for hot tea. But $ 1.75 for«Chinese tea» that’s literally a Lipton pouch? Come on, do you think we’re stupid? Then they give you the tiniest water jars for the tea. My dad kindly asked for hot water refills twice but was ignored both times. He finally just started forcing the jar onto the servers as they passed by and demanded water that way. The food quality has definitely gone down as well, though I still enjoy it despite the shitty service. That’s why I’m giving them 2 stars instead of 1. But tonight, we ordered the escargot as our appetizer. That was actually our main reason for coming back this time because last time we had it, the snails actually came in their shells. This time, they came as little turd looking things covered entirely in oil and grease. One bite in, I couldn’t even figure out if I was eating real escargot or some fake meat. I literally had to wait 5 mins per bite because I wanted to let ALL the oil drip off before putting it in my mouth. I’m pretty positive were never going back to this place again… or until the employees come back from their depression or stop being abused. TL;DR service is absolute shit. And don’t get the escargot.
