Chicago Fire Oven

I loved the salmon sandwich! Juicy and delicious. Initially I was afraid to get salmon as many restaurants overcook and it ends up dry. But this was nice and juicy – sauces had great flavors. I came at 10:15pm; seating hottest was on her phone sorta ignored me standing there initially until I spoke to her. Server was nice and made some good recommendations.

There is an angry older lady hostess i walked up at 1:50pm to place a takeout order she ignored me because they close at at 2pm. The full menu is available at the bar from 2pm on but the bartender also ignored me because he doesnt open until 2pm.
So i guess i am supposed to just stand around for ten minutes because it would take too much work to take my order.
Also the lady at fire oven didnt tell me anything she just completely ignored me and the 4 other people standing around hoping someone will let them order.
Here is an idea, overlap the times, have the bar open at 1:30 pm. Or just have a hostess who isnt horrible at her job.

I stayed in the hotel for seven days and ate here often.
The breakfasts are typical mediocre IHG fare.
The dinners are actually pretty good.
Any of the pizzas are yummy. The Cobb salad is tasty.
I strongly recommend, though, the half roasted chicken. It’s terrific. The sauce is perfect. And the roasted veggies that come with it are perfect al dente deliciousness. I’d order a second one if I were staying another night.

Not sure about the rest of their menu but if you are looking for breakfast buffet you should try something else. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and chewy. The sausage links while pretty big but tasted bland. Bacon? Limp. The sliced fruit and oatmeal were ok. Bread selection is very good. I like the servers though, They were very polite and checks on you frequently.
BTW, It’s inside the Crowne Plaza hotel.

I would give this 2.5 stars for the food and 1 star for parking and guest services. This restaurant is located inside the Crowne Plaza and there is absolutely NO parking anywhere near the front door. You follow the VERY POORLY MARKED OR ABSENT signs to a parking lot around the corner, down the block to a small sign indicating this lot to be the parking for the Crowne Plaza. Don’t get your hopes up yet though — this lot is likely to be full (even for hotel guests as we heard over the radio). There is a huge parking structure down another street that doesn’t belong to the Crowne Plaza but you can pay $ 15 to park there. Your challenge is not over yet though, because you have to find your way through this GINORMOUS parking garage that has signs for lots of other hotels but not for the Crowne Plaza. It seriously took us 30 minutes to find parking and manage the parking lot challenge to finally sit down in the restaurant to eat some very average pizza. Save your stress level and buy a frozen pizza – it’ll taste just as good.

Service was great, portions were big, I had the Spaghetti Marinara with meatballs and it tasted great and I like the fact that they stay open a little late as I got there at 10:30pm.

Meh. Make it a generous 2.5. Stuck in at ORD by a snow storm and too lazy to leave the hotel. I decided to graze, maybe not the best idea. Started out with chicken wings. Good spicing and nice and meaty. Downhill from there. The house salad was about as boringly generic as you could get. Double-​meh on that. The onion soup was sublimely adequate. It didn’t have that punch of umami that a good onion soup has. Oh well. Hotel restaurant. So it goes.

Chicago Fire Oven may not bring anything particularly new, at least in terms of pizza, to the table, especially in a Chicagoland environment flooded with excellent pizza options, but they offer variety and consistent quality across the menu, and that makes this place well worth the visit!
I have been twice, once with family visiting from out-​of-​town (three of us ate together that night), and once with a large group of friends (10+) all from out-​of-​town and requesting separate checks. I didn’t choose Chicago Fire Oven as my first suggestion on either visit, but I am thankful that I ended up there on both occasions! Thankfully, both times, my party was lucky enough to have the same server, who was INCREDIBLE each time with diverse groups and diverse needs. Her name was Griselle and she was one of the best servers I have ever had — and I was a server myself for almost 10 years! Request her if you are looking for a friendly server who will deliver high-​quality, personal service. The management team also stopped by our table and made both groups feel welcome each time, in different ways, and we had a great experience both times.
The food is quite good! Brick-​oven pizzas may not bring anything particularly new to the table in a Chicagoland environment flooded with good pizza, but they are more than adequate. Sandwiches are great too. The highlight, at least as far as presentation, however, is the entrée salads (cobb salad, steak salad). They are served surrounded by a baked croûton/​garlic loaf, salad presentation (and taste quality) is top notch.
My expectations were a little low considering the restaurant is in an airport hotel and sort of off the beaten path (parking is tricky, but they validate), but I will definitely be back!
If you can get past your own initial prejudices, the food quality, presentation, personal service, and hip décor make this pizza joint near O’Hare well worth the visit! Thanks for a great time Chicago Fire Oven!

My friends and I arrived at 9:30, a full hour and a half before the posted closing time, and the hostess refused to seat us because «it was slow» and they were closing early. We had a diabetic in our party that needed to eat something. Hostess was at least quick to validate our parking so we weren’t out $ 40 for our lovely meal of nothing.

Staying in town for buisness with my husband. Had a great experience here! So great! Try their breakfast calzone! It’s a must!

If you would like to feel ripped off, then go here. Calzone and coffee $ 17.34 and wasn’t all that good at all.

What are your expectations for a hotel restaurant? Okay, what are your expectations for an airport hotel restaurant? If you’re like me (and if you are, that means you are incredibly smart and sexy) those expectations are not particularly high.
If that’s the case, you will be neither disappointed or delighted with Chicago Fire Oven. You’ll just think «Yep, that’s about what I expected»
Was here for a conference and ate lunch here. The service was not rude but in no way friendly or memorable. The waiter maybe said five words to me (To drink? Ready? and Anything Else?). The food had a good flavor but it was served barely warm. Roasted veggies and cous cous isn’t revenge… and by that I mean it’s not a dish best served cold.
Getting the bill took forever.
Two stars isn’t an indictment… I didn’t hate the place but it was really just «meh».

This was my first time ever visiting this restaurant and I was very pleased dining there. They had a nice selection of food and our waiter was very accommodating and in good spirits. I got the chicken marsala, which was delicious (the fresh vegetables on the side were amazing) and my boyfriend got the spinach chicken fettuccine alfredo. The portions you get were huge, neither of us came close to finishing our meals. But, since we are on vacation we decided to splurge on some dessert and got the fried dough. Yum! It was a sort of gourmet funnel cake with three different sauces to choose from… so worth it!

Breakfast buffet is not bad. Dinner is OK, but stay away from the nasty pizza.
Last night at the hotel went here for dinner. Found half a toothpick in my french onion soup and a piece of plastic in my salad.
The service is pretty good and some of their dishes are decent, but overall my experience was not great. (To their credit the manager comped my meal)
If at the hotel I will definitely come back, at least for breakfast. As hotel restaurants go this place is better than most I have eaten at.

Not terribly good. Service is poor, food quality is mediocre, but presentation is nice. Ate breakfast here after an aircraft mechanical failure forced us to stay the night in Chicago. I was not at all impressed. At least it was on the airlines dime. It fit right in with the level of service we got from Delta, so at least the whole experience was consistent.

Came here alone the other night. I was the only one in here eating. It was very clean and modern atmosphere. The wait staff was semi attentive. The cook was super fast.
I ordered a signature burger which is topped with cheese, jalapeños, onions, and and egg. It was good and messy. I got egg yolk all ober the place when I cut my burger. It was tasty though. The house chips were excellent as well. They were perfectly crispy and thick without being greasy. Yum. I would go back here.

We tried this place while we were working in the area and really liked it. Our server was timely. One order come out incorrectly but they apologized and brought a new, correctly prepared and gave that person something to snack on while waiting. I had probably the prettiest Chopped Salad of all time. My whole salad was bound my a very light toasty bread. Delightful. A little pricey, but it is a hotel restaurant in a tourist/​convention center close to an airport.
The hostess validated our parking on our way out. No issue with parking.

Bad food and bad service. I wouldn’t recognize my waiter in a line up if he (she??) were the only one there. I had to go into the kitchen to ask for butter. Which I used on a roll that was so stale that I could have used it to pound nails into a two by four. The spinach salad was so drenched in dressing that it could have been listed as spinach soup.
Update: Last night I gave this place one star & swore I’d never go back. But I’m trapped in this hotel for a conference and was too lazy to walk around & find another restaurant, so I ate here again — & it was much better. Really good service this go round, so perhaps last night was an anomaly. Rolls tonight were still stale & hard; order salad dressing on the side and the salad becomes edible. I’d give it a 4 tonight… So averaging with the 1 last night, it’s a 3.

Edible with a wide variety of price range. A plus that they have weekly specials and a cocktail of the week is only $ 8. Note, cheapo wines are more expensive than cocktail.
Chicken Marsala — serves 2. Delicious roasted vegetables. A good ratio of grilled veggies, pasta and a well cooked chicken. I couldn’t taste any Marsala wine and I haven’t seen such a dark brown sauce in my life. Is there a pre-​made, canned or jar Marsala sauce?
Service — not to shabby. Since you pack your own brown bag, you can tip minimally.

Came here for a late dinner since a friend was staying at the hotel next door. The atmosphere is pretty chill, lights are set low and it’s easy to carry on a conversation, at least until a big group of guests come down from the hotel. The décor is set up with metallics and wood.
The food is pretty good, I had the four cheese ravioli in a tomato sauce and some grilled veggies and my girl had the grilled salmon sandwich. But more importantly, the apple pear marscapone dessert pizza was a very pleasant surprise. I was a little disappointed with my drink, the old fashioned was watered down. Service was was nice and friendly. Overall a nice place to check out for food and desert but I’d wash those down elsewhere.

Después de un tortuoso vuelo Madrid — Chicago y de perder una conexión hacia San Francisco, por arte de birlibirloque terminé en el hotel que tiene este lugar como restaurante. Así que tras quemar unas cuantas calorías en la cinta de correr, a las nueve me bajé –más solo que la una– a cenar algo consistente antes de meterme en la cama. Tenía tanto hambre que me hubiese comido una vaca.
Cuando llegué a la puerta del restaurante, aquello estaba bastante hasta arriba. Así que la anfitriona me dijo que tendría que esperar unos diez o quince minutos. Yo vi que había una barra bastante vacía, así que como tenía tanto hambre y tampoco me importaba lo más mínimo comer en la barra, se lo hice saber. Total, en estos días, todo lo que te hace falta para entretenerte durante una solitaria cena es un teléfono móvil.
Me sentaron en la barra, y rápidamente me trajeron la carta. Eché un vistazo a las reseñas en Unilocal,y me decidí por el club sandwich. De beber, la bebida de la semana, una Electric Lemonade. «Baby, si estoy en Chicago por una noche y fuera hace un frío de mil demonios tal que no puedo ni salir del hotel, mejor le doy a esto un empujoncito».
Ya estaba decidido, pero no pude pedir mi comida hasta quince o veinte minutos después. Los empleados del restaurante parecían absolutamente desbordados con todas las comandas, y al final nadie venía a tomarte nota. Tuve que hacer un par de aspavientos un poco exagerados, y poco después de pedir, vino mi bebida.
La limonada era azul. Yo la verdad es que no me lo esperaba, aunque luego he visto que el cóctel tiene ese color. Pero es que encima sabía a rayos, estaba más mala que un dolor. Meh. No la volvería a pedir por nada del mundo, la verdad: pide un refresco y déjate de líos.
Luego llegó el sandwich, que era bastante grande, con patatas tipo chip pero fritas a mano. Muy ricas, la verdad. El sandwich, para mi gusto, estaba un poco seco, y terminaba costando mucho comérselo. De hecho no me lo terminé, y no soy yo conocido por dejarme cosas en el plato, precisamente. Definitivamente, pide otra cosa, porque no está malo, pero tampoco está impresionante.
A la hora de pagar, más de lo mismo: no me habían quedado ganas de postre, y tardaron tanto en reparar que quería pedir la cuenta que estuve a punto de levantarme y pedirla directamente a la anfitriona. No sé, deberían plantearse que quizá no tienen suficiente personal para manejar el restaurante (que tampoco es especialmente grande) o simplemente recordar, de cuándo en cuándo, que tienen gente sentada en la barra (¡y no era el único, precisamente!).
