If you love vietnamese pork spring rolls, this is the place to get them especially on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 4pm until closing for $ 1 each with a maximum of 5 rolls a person when dining in! They normally cost $ 2/​roll which is a good deal also. This is the best deal in the SGV and the taste is so delicious. 5 rolls will definitely fill you up. I would have to say it is better than BRODARD.
They have special set lunch/​dinner set menu which is more than plenty. There is always leftovers to bring home. Free appetizers that include peanuts, fried wonton strips and sliced asian sausages. Also, during the week, they have drink specials after 4pm for buy one and get the second one half price. Come stop by and check it out! I will definitely be coming back!
Tip: They take reservations. Free parking in lot or street.

This is definitely a great place to try out if you haven’t! Honestly it has one of the best atmosphere and vibe for a date. Great Pad Thai and great phở as well. I am very impressed during my first time here and if you haven’t been here what are you waiting for!

Pad Thai rocks here!!! The service was very good, our server name is Taniel, he was very helpful. Another dish we ordered was Pad Kee Mao, a spicy version of Pad-​See-​Ew, both dishes were good, we left satisfied.

I come here pretty often with my boyfriend and his mom because of their weekday specials (e.g. buy one get one half off for drinks, free appetizers, or special dinner menu sets). My boyfriend and I really like their sweet potato shrimp fritters and pad thai. The pad thai is slightly on the oily side, but I like that it is highly customizable in terms of your meat/​tofu choices. The Che Ba Mau is decent here too.
Not only is the food here good, the service here is great also; I’ve never had a bad experience here.

I’ve passed by this restaurant quite a few times and I haven’t had the chance to try it until recently. This restaurant is really clean, well-​ventilated, AC was going, and modern looking.
The free pre-​meal/​appetizer dish they give you was EH.

I ordered the large Crying Tiger Steak cooked medium w papaya salad. I usually order steak medium rare but only at steakhouses. When the dish came out, the meat was cooked more along the medium rare PLUS side so it was perfect. The odd part was that they cut the meat ¾ of the way — I would prefer that they cut it the whole way and thinner cuts. I ended up cutting a lot of the pieces in half. The sauce it came with was spicy and delish.
The dishes are reasonably priced and they have a few options for multiple course meals. I thought it was just Thai food but they also have Vietnamese dishes. The service is good too — the staff is friendly and attentive, which of course makes the dining experience much better.
I would def come here again.

Service is extraordinary, food is great. I got the thick cut pork chop, and it definitely lived up to its name.
I’m coming back to try the steak. Don’t forget to add on the $ 2 drinks on the specials.

The nem nuong spring rolls were ok. The rice paper was a bit dry and the sauce was ok. The Crying tiger sauce was pretty good. The Nam Khao was not very good. It had a weird taste to it. The sweet and sour fish was good. Love the ambience and how they have quite a diverse menu from South East Asia but the food wasn’t as good as I would like for it to be. I was impressed with them initially as they were quick to service you but they weren’t as nice at the end.

Came here for a weekday lunch to celebrate co-​workers’ birthdays and I had a forgettable experience. I tried the $ 7.99 Pork Belly lunch special. My dish took way too long to come out. I am guessing about 25 minutes and most of my co-​workers were probably half-​way done with eating their dishes. Plus, this was after asking a couple of times on the whereabouts of my dish. Each time our server said that it will be right out. Quite frustrating.
Maybe the dish will help overlook the slow service. Unfortunately, the pork belly was dry and it had a strong fish sauce flavor. I struggled to finish it.
We asked for the check and it took several minutes to get it. I really don’t get the slow service. Plus, the restaurant wasn’t busy during our meal. In the 626, if you lack service (and most places do), the food needs to make up for it. Sadly, for me, both missed the mark. My journey continues to search for an acceptable Thai restaurant in the 626.

Complimentary trio of snacks (peanuts, wonton chips, sausage) before service was very nice.
Pad Kee Mao… Very tasty, I wished there was more chicken in it though. At $ 9, you are definitely paying for the décor since portion wise… It’s less than what you would get at similar nearby restaurants (say Noodle World…). Nicer ambiance, seating, & silverware. It’s a good date spot… less of the hustle & bustle of the typical Asian eatery.
The free ice cream works! Go get it!

Free ice cream! Great food! Wide variety! Very inexpensive! Starts at $ 1! And they have stamp cards. So after 10 meals you get something free! I’m always satisfied when I come here and there’s something for everyone. authentic Chinese/​Vietnamese fusion

Forced back here by friend request, saddens me to have to drop it another star. It looks like the menu had expanded, but non the less its was still mediocre.
Some new dishes that was tried this over priced spicy dish drenched in sauce. I lost my appetite after seeing how rude the service had become. Looks like they are trying out dinner specials and it was busier than before. The service was decent before, but now it is just terrible.
The complimentary snacks weren’t given to us, so we had to try and get a servers attention to order it. After a couple of minutes of trying to wave someone down the Hostess saw us when she was off playing with her phone and came over to check on us. When she got us the snacks after that I guess she told the server and the server was straight up being a douche!
SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND FOOD JUST MEDIOCRE, definitely will not be return ever again. I would suggest no one else waste their time here either

This is a new fusion Thai/​Vietnamese/​Indonesian restaurant in SGV. The décor inside and outside is modern. It feels very comfortable and very brightly lit. The menu has a wide selection but depending on what you order, the prices can be on the pricy side. It’s also helpful that the menu does have some pictures so it does help narrow my selections. The food portion is a decent size So I highly recommend ordering a few dishes and sharing as family style. We all each other a dish to share and were super stuff from eating so much carbs afterwards.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. They came to us right away and the food came out pretty quick. We had a little accident with a cup that spilled hot coffee. The staff came by right away to make sure it was cleaned up and made sure the baby was not burned.
As far as what to order, i highly recommend the Pad See Ew, tofu fries that comes with different sauce, spring rolls, and the combo appetizers. I loved how each of these dishes come with a variety of dipping sauce. I’m a saucy person. So i like knowing i have a few varieties.
Monday and Wed (after 4 pm): $ 0.99 per spring rolls. Such a great deal and the springs rolls are decent size and made fresh.
Tip: Check in and you will get a fosselman’s ice cream but only per table.

Mon & Wed Nights (after 4 pm): 99 cent Nem Nuong Spring Rolls! **
I came here for dinner after class on a Wednesday night because you can’t turn out 99 cent pork spring rolls! We were immediately seated and I definitely recommend taking advantage of their weeknight dinner deals. There’s a $ 18 dinner for 2, where you get your choice of appetizer, a selected soup, entrée of pork chops with broken rice and a dessert! My favorite is the spring rolls! SO GOOD!
You can’t beat that! The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are huge! Expect leftovers to take home! Also, there’s a Unilocal Check-​In offer for a free ice cream, but you’re going to be super full after all the food just so you know!
Service is friendly. Food is delicious. Plenty of parking, and credit cards accepted.

This place is basically a more refined Noodle World with a much more interesting menu. The interior of this place is nice and well-​designed, compared to most places in the SGV where food takes precedence over service/​ambience. Prices are slightly more expensive than a few restaurants around SGV, but you can still feast at an affordable price.
We came in on a Wednesday which is one of the Nem Nuong nights; $ 1 each! This was a bargain and it tasted great; I loved how the crispy spring roll wrapper in the Nem Nuong actually had shrimp in it. There are lots of flavor and textures working together; the salty/​sour sausage, crispy egg roll, and fresh veggies and herbs. We ordered 4 but next time would probably double it!
The Phở Nam Cuc is phở that comes with tendon, flank, and «minced meat sauce.» The tendon and flank were cooked well, but the meat sauce didn’t really taste that special to me. I couldn’t discern any pieces of meat in it, and it tasted more like the Thai Nam Phrik chili paste. The broth is a lot darker than your average phở bowl. The dish was satisfying but not amazing enough for me to come back and order it.
The Naem Khao Tod (Crispy Laotian rice salad) was another OK dish. It tastes like a sour crispy fried rice with sausage. It’s better to eat this with a fried egg because the flavors of this dish can get tiring after a while; you need the richness of egg yolk to change things up a bit.
On that night, there was another special; Buy one drink get the other half off. I ordered some Taro drink with coconut milk that tasted fine. My friend ordered the Burmese milk tea, which tasted like watery English breakfast tea; probably wouldn’t order again.
Service was attentive. Overall, they don’t have the best renditions of the dishes they make, but it’s a nice place to go if you want a variety of choices. If you go on a night where they’re offering specials, you can order a lot at a good price.

The concept of this restaurant stands out amongst all of the other Chinese or Vietnamese restaurants in the SGV area. The restaurant has a southeast Asian blend of viet and Thai based foods. The menu was extensive and had plenty to choose from. We ended up going with the sweet potato fritters, the chicken salad and chicken skewers (all of these were appetizers) but it turned out to be enough food for me and the hungry bf.
–The chicken salad was big and had probably equal amounts of meat to veggie ratio! The salad was very flavorful and delicious!
–The sweet potato fritters was a super cool concept with thin sweet potato fries & fried shrimp and then you wrap this into a lettuce leaf & dip into fish sauce. The only thing was the sweet potatoes weren’t super crispy but otherwise the dish was yummy!
–Lastly the chicken skewers were delicious & juicy, not dry like other chicken satay where the chicken tends to be dried out and the peanut sauce was also superb. It was warm and complemented the chicken perfectly. I wish I could take the peanut sauce home with me!
–We also got a to-​go order of the Vietnamese cold noodle entrée (bun something) which was delicious (per mom).
Overall the total came out to be 30 bucks which is totally reasonable for 2 people & a to go entrée!
Service was okay. A little slow despite there only being about 5 – 6 tables filled but I wasn’t in any rush!
Overall a really good experience and I would love to come back to try more of the dishes!

When it was time to plan for my husband’s surprised 40^th bday party I considered many places and personally checked out a few restaurant/​cafes. I finally decided on Tai-​Kadai and it was the best decision I made for this special event! I chose them because of the modern décor, convenient location, seating arrangement, great costumer service, nice food selection and fits my budget.
I first called a couple of times to make sure they could accommodate a party of 40 people and inquired about menu and price. Although each time I called different person answered the phone, they were all very polite, patient and spoke good English that I felt was easy to communicate with. Then I made a visit to the restaurant to try the food and to go over the detail. I was even planning to put a deposit. The manager Khim was there to help me. He was very nice and patient and accommodating. He was willing to work with me on whatever seating arrangement I had in mind. Since we had 40 ppl, he gave us half of the restaurant. I liked that because it was toward the back and it felt more private and cozy. He never mentioned a word about deposit, and when I asked he just smiled and said it was ok we didn’t need to. I’ve never seen a manager so humble and not crazy for money! lol
On that day my friend helped me set up the place beautifully. The staffs moved the booth seats around to our preference, and they even mopped the floor. They paid attention to all the details. Their staffs Sandy and Vincent were there to make sure everything went smoothly. Just minutes before my husband walked in the restaurant they even dimmed the light so he won’t see through the windows. They were so thoughtful! Of course everything was smooth and the service was great at the party. It was a successful surprise party and I am very thankful for their help.
Best service in Asian restaurants in San Gabriel Valley! I highly recommend them for small parties or special occasions you might have. I didn’t get to eat much that night but I’ll definitely come back!

Wow! I’m pleasantly surprised. I was expecting 3 – 3.5 star type food but it’s a solid 4 stars.
Typically I stay away from those pan-​Asian type restaurants for obvious reasons, though Tai Kadai seemed to have a menu that was hard to resist. Vietnamese and Thai food on the same menu? Which one do they do better? These were the questions in my mind as my husband and I were having difficulty deciding between the two cuisines while also trying to find a restaurant open on Sunday. So we gave up and decided to give this place a go after seeing the high ratings.
Ordered the Vietnamese Chicken Salad, Singapore noodles, Pad See Ew, and Samosas.
Vietnamese Chicken Salad — It is rare for me to find this at a Vietnamese restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley for some weird reason. This is one of my all time fave dishes growing up w/​a dad who made it perfectly. Tai Kadai’s version was fantastic and probably my favorite since Lee Kum Kee closed down several years ago. The cabbage is finely shredded just the way I like it, and the ingredients are fresh with a remarkable amount of herbs and fried shallots. The fish sauce dressing has a great balance of salt and acid, which truly made this dish shine. Small size is plenty while the large will give you a little extra for leftovers.
Singapore noodles —- this is where I must give it only 3 stars. Flavors were lackluster, didn’t get much help from the meat either. The broth it comes with is nice though. I just don’t know if this is suppose to be a palate cleansing type dish, or if they didn’t do it properly. The noodles were fine, but again nothing outstanding in terms of flavor. Note: I like flavor in my food.
Pad See Ew — Great flavor throughout with enough meat and veggies to make me happy. I think the wide noodles were cooked well and each strip was covered in delicious sauce where everything was consistent (compared to some places where the sauce doesn’t get thoroughly mixed in the noodles). Portion size was good for one person. I find this leaned more toward a Hong Kong style than Thai, so just know it doesn’t include strong basil aromas.
Samosas — lovely curried potatoes and peas packaged neatly in a thin spring roll wrapper. Not your traditional Indian samosas. I still found it very pleasing to eat and dip in their soy-​vinegar sauce.
If you like Southeast Asian food, go here!

I guess Mondays aren’t so terrible anymore. Great service our entire stay from all staff members we encountered. Tai Kadai servces all types of South Asian fusion dishes! Complimentary snacks (peanuts, crispy wonton strips, chinese sausage) are provided as you look through the menu.
Our party of 4 ordered 8 spring rolls ($ 7.92) and the Thai family dinner combo for 2 ($ 24). The dinner combo included chicken satay skewers, ½ order of crying tiger steak, choice of pad thai, pad kee mao or pineapple fried rice, and a choice of taro egg rolls or banana egg rolls.
The spring rolls are good for the price but the sauce wasn’t comparable to Brodards or Summer Rolls, however, it does the job — just add sriracha! We all enjoyed the crying tiger steak, pad thai, and our dessert of banana egg rolls served with a side caramel and vanilla ice cream (if you check in on Unilocal… one per table only). I could do without the chicken skewers.
Street parking (if you’re lazy to walk) or you can park in the same plaza as the Rosemead supermarket.

I haven’t been a huge fan of their food dishes in the past visits, but my friend wanted to try their happy hour deal here. We came on a Wednesday night at 6:30pm. I do like that they give you a plate of Chinese sausages, fried wonton strips, and salted peanuts as a complimentary appetizer. I opted out of their entrees, but ordered two nem nuong Vietnamese spring rolls. They were so good that I later ordered another two rolls. On Monday and Wednesday nights after 4pm, it’s only $ 1 each! That’s such an amazing deal and they were also very delicious. I loved that they were packed with meat and tasted savory, refreshing and filling. They also have BOGO beer which comes out to $ 2 – 3 each. The glasses they provided were chilled and made the beer a refreshing drink with the food. Although it took awhile to catch some of the waiter’s attention, they were accommodating to our requests.
Don’t forget to check-​in for a free ice cream from Fosselman’s! I got a scoop of vanilla with caramel and nuts. It was so delicious to end the meal.
