Jonathan Lo, DDS

Took my 5 year old son to see Dr. Jonathan Lo today. My son and I are both nervous about the dentist but Dr. Lo was amazing! My son is shy but Dr. Lo got him talking and laughing so that he would feel at ease during the dental exam and my son actually had a nice time at the dentist! Dr. Lo was great and I will recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist. Thank you, Dr. Lo!

Having gone to dental school with Dr. Lo and his wife Dr. Shang, I knew I wanted them as my daughter’s pediatric dentist when her first dental visit came around. Not only are they very skilled at what they do, but they are close, personal friends as well. You can’t find people more caring, conscientious, or kind-​hearted than Dr. Lo and Dr. Shang. And as a dentist, I know that they always look at each patient’s overall treatment comprehensively, and are not aggressive. As expected, they made my daughter’s first dental visit very smooth. Their staff was so warm and welcoming from the very beginning, and his kind assistant Brenda did everything possible to make my daughter feel comfortable. My daughter loved the fish and toys in the waiting room! They were such a super star team!
During my daughter’s visit, Dr. Lo took great time and care in explaining possible future treatment options for my daughters thumb sucking habit, explaining to her what we were about to do, and not forcing anything on her. These first visits are so important in setting up your child to feel comfortable at future visits at the dental office. I personally understand this since I have treated many adults who have grown to have a lot of dental anxiety. That’s why despite their office being an hour away from our home in Irvine, I don’t mind making the commute because I wouldn’t trust our daughter’s care with anyone else. Not only are both Dr. Lo and Dr. Shang extremely kind-​hearted, patient, and possess great hand skills, but they take their time to make sure that the child and parent feel comfortable and that all Qs have been answered. If you’re looking for someone that you could trust with your precious child’s care, look no further! Dr. Lo, Dr. Shang and their team make you feel like family.

We have nothing but praises for Dr. Lo and his friendly and professional staff. My two children (ages 5 and 2) love Dr. Jonathan Lo because he goes to great lengths to make them feel at ease. Dr. Lo’s patient and child friendly explanations help my children feel comfortable in the dentist chair. He is also thorough with his explanations for the parents and gives us options and his recommendations for treatment. Although we live north of Pasadena, we believe its WELL worth the drive for their check-​ups!

I brought my three year old to Dr. Lo for her regular check up last Friday. We saw a different pediatric dentist in Long Beach but there was something left to be desired. Their scheduling was too restrictive and the doctor didn’t capture us enough to go back. So, I found out about Dr. Lo and decided to make the visit.
I prepared my daughter, giving her as much information on what would happen as I could. Dr. Lo was really fantastic with both of us. He was thorough educating me on the process — what he would look for and where her teeth should be, developmentally. Now, I realize he has two patients to make feel comfortable — the parent and the child. He was successful at both! When it was my daughter’s turn he made her feel comfortable with what he was doing and asking if she was okay along the way.
It turns out my daughter has an oddly located cavity. Dr. Lo explained how we would move forward and encouraged us to keep an eye on it rather than getting it fixed right away. He suggested waiting as it wasn’t urgent and he believed it would be best to fill the cavity after she’s gotten comfortable with his office. Phew! Thank you Dr. Lo, I think Mom needs to get comfortable with that process, too!
The office is spacious, as a place that serves children should be! The office staff from front office to back office were warm and friendly.
I really felt that they put their patients first which is so important when serving children.
I encourage everyone to visit Dr. Lo. You get the time and attention that you deserve and you couldn’t ask for a warmer and thoughtful dentist!

I was very nervous about bringing my son to his first dentist appt based on his reactions at the drs office. I was assured over the phone that Dr Lo is an expert and would kindly and in a child friendly manner ease us both through out first visit.
First of all, fish tank in the waiting room… Boom! Toys in the waiting room… Boom! We were called in right on time and everything I was told over the phone was true and then some. Dr Lo was awesome and I’m thrilled about my little dude’s first experience. He even let me floss his teeth last night. Like, whoa.

Dr. Lo is awesome. Nice, friendly, skilled and patient. His office is super clean. Kids get a small trinket after their appointment. He does not push treatments. He is also always on time. All the assistants are very nice as well.

This place is phenomenal. Dr Lo goes to great lengths to make our 2 and 3 year old children feel comfortable. His calming, upbeat bedside manner puts them at ease and allows him to do his work. My kids love the fish tank, the variety of post-​visit prizes, and have always done well during visits.
My son knocked one of his teeth hard when learning to walk, and after examination Dr. Lo took the time to address all our questions and lay out the pros/​cons of each scenario (extraction vs. a wait and see approach). After we were fully informed he left the decision up to us. I appreciated that.
If you want the best care for your kids, I think this is it!

Dr. Lo is truly the best pediatric dentist I’ve met. I took my now 7 year old to another pediatric dentist for a consult before when my then 4 year old needed major dental work and opted not to go with the other lady and went with Dr. Lo. Dr. Lo was so thorough with his explanations and soo comforting when handling my daughter. He is extremely patient with kids! I’m so glad I found him and refer him to everyone I know who is looking for a pediatric dentist.

Fantastic office… caring staff… Dr. Lo is the best I have ever met… we went to several dentists to get opinions on my sons oral predicament… Dr. Lo was kind, honest, explained everything clearly, and his associate Dr. Stafford took care of my son with the same kindness and honesty… I am so happy we found Dr. Lo and his great team. your kids will love this office and the staff…5 stars !

I loooove Dr Lo for my 7 year old son. We’ve brought him here since he was 4. Dr Lo has a soft gentle caring manner with the kids. Dr Lo is young, his office is all modern and new, the staff is great. I wish Dr Lo could work on my teeth…
An additional bonus, his new office is in the Palos Verdes Mall so at the end of each visit my son and I walk down to the toy store for a little present.
