It’s been a couple months since I had Brian and PACPFC come out and install a 3−½’ Fence all away around our large Pool. Not only did Brian return my calls in a timely manner, but he arrived when he said he would to provide a quote. Every question I had was answered exceptionally well, in detail and I could tell Brian and his team have been doing this for a long time, and well I might add. We immediately went forward with an install, Brian and his team banged it out quickly, it looks great, we can now hang out in our backyard again (have a 15 month old boy) and enjoy ourselves without fear of our little dare devil making a beeline for the water. Like I said, it’s been a few months out in the weather, the fence looks brand new, the install looks same as it did day 1 and I thought the price was fair. Thanks Brian for taking care of us.

Had to bite the bullet and finally install a pool fence as my 11 month old started getting mobile. Did some homework and got 2 quotes. Brian came out and gave me a very informative demonstration and actually talked us out of getting a gate (additional $ 375) due to false sense of safety and drilled extra holes where we could remove posts to create our own opening and not have to worry about locking locks. He also removed my old rusted diving board for free!

I just do not know where to start. We live in Atherton. Our experience with this fence company has been stellar. Our grandson is almost one… growing fast… and as we are lucky enough to have him and family living nearby, we were so confused as to what to do with fencing our pool. The pool was built as a main water feature and visible and accessible from many doors. I had a few different companies come out to give us an estimate. Brian from Protect a Child fence came out with full size fence samples and COMPLETE explanation on safety and materials. As I was jockeying the grandson on one hip, his explanation was clear and concise… and the best news… it is easily removable due to the innovative locking system and Fiberglas mesh… and easily stored away in rolling green bins (bought at Home Depot)! If anyone has a pool and kids… this fence is a home selling /​buying feature! Protects your pets and keeps the raccoons out of your pool as well. It’s easily opened by adult hands for easy accessibility for pool use.
One week later Brian was here to install. Completely done in less than three hours. Price was excellent, service excellent and it’s all fully guaranteed. I live in the San fernando Valley. I have a in ground spa and a pool. I have 1 year old twins and they are starting to walk so it was past due to have a pool safety fence put in. I’m a pretty handy person and was going to do it myself with pool fencing from Leslie’s Pool, however after some research on pricing and what it takes to install it correctly with the right tools, I decided against it. It just wasn’t time and cost effective.
I researched all over the Internet and protect-​a-​child fencing seems to be the strongest and most durable fencing on the market. We contacted Gene the local sales rep. to schedule a consultation. One suggestion, think very carefully on where you want the fencing to be, before the initial consultation. It would make the process more efficient. That way all your questions and concerns would be answered then and there. My wife and I didn’t think about where we wanted to put the fencing and went back and forth with Gene for about a week but finally agreed on a location. I’m glad we thought it through and waited before we installed it permanently. We decided to just block the whole section were the pool and spa was also a section of the grass to keep our dog out. This way we have a area as well for the kids to play without worrying about stepping on dog poop. This probably saved us money as well because we used less fencing. Ive had family members that installed fencing around the whole pool and it can get costly because there is more linear footage to go around the whole pool as supposed to running it from our garage to the neighbors fence which has a shorter distance and less linear footage. The day of the install Osmin and his worker came over and went over the plans carefully again before the drilling to make sure we were all on the same page. It took only about a couple of hours but the end result looked great and best of all I can feel a little safer that my twins are blocked from that part of the yard. After the install Gene followed up with us which was nice. Most contractors disappear once you pay them but Gene was available always by phone or email.
We just had a party recently and the fencing was fairly easy to remove and put away. Over all the experience with Gene and his fence installer was great and I would recommend this company.

If you have a pool and young kids, it’s important to have some kind of safeguard to prevent your kid from falling in the pool and drowning. Our pool initially only had a safety cover that dogs and people can walk on and requires an electric drill to open (
), but I still wanted a fence in case we ever wanted to leave the cover open. Plus, our kid is a little Houdini, and I wanted to have a second barrier.
According to an article I was reading about pool safety and fences (
), drowning is the leading cause of death for kids under age 5 in CA, FL, and AZ. That’s enough to make any parent break into a cold sweat.

What I like about them:

+ It would be impossible for a little kid to open the fence (it requires height, coordination, and considerable hand strength).
+ The fence looks nice (neat installation).
Areas for improvement:
— They don’t seem to be experts on where is the optimal place to put the fence. I wish I consulted a professional baby-​proofer about the layout and height of the fence before I had them come out to install our fence, because I ended up having them come back later to redrill and move part of the fence (at our expense for the redrill labor, not the materials, since they were able to reuse the fence). In our case, where to put the fence wasn’t exactly a slam-​dunk.
— They recommend a 4 foot fence, when that height is not up to code in where we live or what our child-​proofing consultant considers high enough (he suggests a 5 foot fence and I discovered later that our city wouldn’t give a permit for a 4 foot pool fence).
— As a small business serving a large area, they sometimes don’t return calls immediately (but they do get back to you after a few days).
If I had to do it over again: I would go with Protect-​A-​Child Pool Fence again, I’d just consult with an independent professional child-​proofer for advice before having them install the fence.
I heard on the news recently about a kid falling in a family pool and nearly dying, and I decided it was time to write this review to promote pool safety. In addition to fences, you can get pool alarms, safety nets, and safety covers — I like to have double protection because I’m a safety freak and couldn’t handle it if anyone drowned in our pool.
