Rachael is a licensed professional counselor with experience working with all ages and a variety of concerns and needs. No problem is too big or small, whether it is adjustment to life stressors or coping with traumatic circumstances. Typical problem areas addressed in sessions with Rachael include stress from work or any areas of life, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, anger issues, and relationship issues including improving communication. As a counselor, Rachael strives to make the process collaborative with each client, ensuring you have a therapy experience that really meets your needs. She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques which have been proven to be effective for treatment of anxiety and depression.
In addition to serving as a counselor for adults, Rachael also enjoys helping children and families. Difficult parent/child relationships are an area of expertise, as well as difficult teen behavior. Rachael has special training in play therapy techniques and TF-CBT, a specific form of therapy for traumatized children and teens. Typical problem areas Rachael addresses as a counselor to children include reaction to stressors such as divorce, major life changes, or loss, parent and child relationship problems, childhood anxiety and depression, disruptive behavior, defiance, aggression, and ADHD assessments and treatment. Children enjoy Rachael’s counseling style and consistently ask to come back!
History
Established in 2007.
Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Rachael moved to NWA in 2001 to study at the University of Arkansas. She graduated with a master’s degree in counseling from the U of A in 2008, and has been providing quality, compassionate and informed therapy services since that time.
