The asian lady at the counter is mean. Ordered pork with string beans and I got shitty double roasted pork. What kind of place makes pork with string beans with double roasted pork?! The sauce was fairly good but the service and the double roasted pork sucked.

After much anticipation from reading the reviews, I went for the first time yesterday. I was surprised to find out that this place was really more so a Chinese restaurant rather than a sub shop. There were few sub options(about 5 – 7) so I ordered the honey wings combo since many reviews speak of wings and it’s a great price. The pieces were big but I wasn’t a fan of the honey they used because it wasn’t as sweet as I would like. Also they use crinkle fries in case you aren’t a fan of them like me. I wouldn’t order the wings again but would probably order one of the steak and cheese options. They have a huge menu and many lunch specials for like $ 5.99. The place is very clean and you can watch them while they cook your food. There is also a good amount of seating if you want to eat there. I would also recommend you call ahead because they make everything fresh to order, so like the wings took 15 minutes.

if you want someone to hold your hand while you place your order, do not come here. I’ve been coming here for years, and the food is ALWAYS bangin’. The service is terrible, but you’re only there a few minutes. My co-workers LOVE this place, especially their iced tea. Try the steamed, spiced shrimp!

It’s a sub shop. The menu is overwhelming — there’s too many options and you just can’t be sure what’s good. The range of food choices are far and wide. At its heart, it’s a proverbial greasy spoon sub shop. The cheese steak sub and buffalo wings are serviceable, but nothing to make a special trip. Parking can be a hassle at the wrong time. On a hot summer day, definitely pick up their frozen tea or lemonade packaged in a plastic quart size soup container.

Kenny’s has it all: lots of menu items and it’s always fresh, hot and delicious! Phenomenal value, too! The restaurant is clean, has several tables, and there’s outdoor seating available. We choose Kenny’s every time we want a sub(or in my case, the fried oyster platter… delicious!) and have never been disappointed. It deserves every bit of 5 stars!

Service: This is one of the most uncomfortable take out experiences I’ve had. I show up at 3:45 after having missed lunch while running errands in Rockville and en route to pick up my boyfriend from Earth Treks down the street. Sweet mercy, you would think I had shown up 5 minutes before closing with a party of 64. I ask a question about a menu item, get no answer and then immediately order the first thing I see so as to end the interaction: Chicken Lo Mein. She takes my order back to the chef, and proceeds to eat things in the kitchen. I wait around for a bit, and receive my order. I take it back to my car and inspect the food: looks good, smells good, is definitely dripping everywhere. Food: the food is fine. As long as you’re expecting only a side step away from Panda Express, this is a perfectly decent option. The Lo Mein was freshly prepared, the chicken was flavorful and married well with the bits of vegetables. Am I going back there? No, probably not. I don’t need to taste any of their other options, nor enjoy that lovely interaction again. I came here on a recommendation from a co-worker, but the special that she had suggested is only available during the week. Perhaps the mistake is mine for showing up at such an awkward time on a Saturday,

While going to the shopping center i always overlooked this tiny place until today, I stopped by to order my lunch. They accept only case for order below $ 8, and lunch specials are only $ 6. I decided to go ahead and give it a try thinking the portion should good enough to go back to work after eating there. When i got my order, it was very quick probably after 5 mins wait, i opened up my box found the portion was huge, i guess they only serve in those boxes, because they know an average person can’t finish it if they serve on a plate. Well i decided not to eat there and headed back home as it would take me an hour to finish it. :-) I ordered only one item and its good, no complain about it. Probably next time I’ll try their steamed shrimp. I saw their dinner menu is also reasonably priced and hopefully good for 2.

Today was my 1st and last visit to Kenny’s Sub Shop. Although the food is cheap, it’s also tasteless(I guess you get what you pay for in that regard). I ordered the Orange Chicken and it was just as bland as can be. Although they give you a lot of food, doesn’t really matter to me if it has no taste. In addition to that, the lady at the front counter wasn’t friendly at all. Kind of had the same attitude as the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld. Overall, Kenny’s is a thumbs down for me.

You must try the iced tea. It’s great! The service is not that great! Nobody smiles there. I haven’t tried the food but I’m sure you will love the homemade ice tea!

Got a flier in the mail advertising delivery. Called to place delivery order and lady said«we don’t deliver to you, too far» so I said«Why did you put a flier in the mail saying you deliver?» she repeated«we don’t deliver» and hung up, Rude. Lost my business.

So far so good. So much variety maybe I did not select a food that I’d love. Have to come back again.

Update… Don’t know what happened to this place. I’ve ordered 3 times now and the food has been completely different from a few months ago. The fried rice is now tasteless(cant taste sesame oil) and the rice isn’t colored dark from soy sauce. Instead the rice is orange and I don’t know why. Taste is extremely bland. Ordered orange chicken, rarely order this since its a guilty pleasure. Disappointed, orange chicken generally isn’t quality chicken, but the quality this time was below average. When you bite into the chicken you get this bizarre taste that I can’t explain. The taste resembled the«dog’s breath» smell. Did not finish… The hunan chicken is a little sweeter than normal… Also very gloppy sauce and even odd gelatin sheet like particles in the sauce that did not dissolve. Flavor bland. This place has changed its cooking style for the worse. No longer recommended. An odd side effect I noticed each time is that after I ate the food, my taste buds were numb/dull. THe cranberry orange Ice tea I make at home tasted far more bland. Same with a can of sprite. The food somehow dulled my taste buds just after eating it. If you are looking for chinese food that tastes fresh, doesn’t make you feel nasty after eating it, and lots more variety then look elsewhere.

Kenny’s combo platters are massive. Seriously. Plus, if you ask nicely, they’ll make most of their menu items(I’m talking Chinese food) into a combo. With that said, these folks definitely go for quantity over quality. We’ve been several times now, and we most likely will return, but this is not the best Chinese we’ve ever had. Folks at Kenny’s are super business minded – no charges under $ 8, no chit-chat, pick up and pay, and don’t forget to bring your free crab Rangoon coupon with you! They will tear it off your menu. It’s a one time deal, no double-coupon-dipping :)

Two stars because the burgers are decent. However the lady who answers the phone when you place your order is not friendly!

Wish I can give this place NO stars. Customer service sucks. I witnessed my mother place an order thru the phone and I could hear the lady from Kennys yelling at my mom. My mom remained kind and courteous. The food took like an hour for delivery and we live 5 min from the restaurant. Then, we noticed part of the order was missing and my mom called back to ask them what happened to the rest of the food. The same loud lady yelled at my mom and told her she didn’t order the other meal(that was missing) and had the audacity to tell my mom never to call Kennys again because they will refuse service to her. I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing. I will NEVER give another penny to this joint!!! Stay away.

It has a little bit of everything. From the Chinese food to American, the only thing I really don’t like from there this is the cheese wontons. Other than that I love coming here when I want something that’s filling. Oh and I had to take one star because one time I did get food poisoning but I don’t know if it was from Kenny’s directly, I just know I got sick from here one time when they first opened. Lunch Specials are Amazing.

I feel like when i eat at places like this I kind of get a rush. Its that feeling of not knowing whether or not you are going to die of Salmonella or live to tell a tale of discovering fantastically new food made by Asians who apparently know how to cook everything. It was a bleak day my friend, I had been sitting on the couch for almost 6 hours straight and my vision started to get blurry. I suddenly realized that I was famished and that I was in dire need of consumable processed food. After a long journey of perusing the internet for local establishments that delivered, and like walking into a meadow from a dense forest, I discovered Kenny’s. It was then I realized the meadow was just really a small clearing with untrimmed grass and dead flowers… The end! There are not many places that you can find Chinese Food, Italian, Subs, Fried Chicken, Gyros, Buffalo Wings, Seafood, and Sushi all rolled up into one place. I mean with a place that offers so much, its kind of hard to be good at any one thing. I opted for one of their fried chicken subs and though I am of the mind that you cannot screw anything up once you fry it… man was i sorely mistaken. The chicken they used for the sub was way to big, not properly friend, and not seasoned. The fries were also not properly cooked, and under seasoned. The only saving grace for this place and why I gave them the extra star is for their Cheese steak Eggrolls. Whoever came up with this idea is a freakin genius. Just to bad everything else is mediocre. They might have other good things on the menu, but there are better places out there with better food.

There is nothing better than some crack iced tea. If perhaps you’re not aware of Kenny’s «crack iced tea», you’re missing out on the beauty of a homemade Arnold palmer inside a wonton soup container, half frozen with a lemon. By far, the most delicious purchase for just a $ 1.75. The food on the other hand is about what’s to be expected from something around a college campus. Its cheap, you get a lot for your order and its just above of what you’d get on campus. The chicken is quite an exception, very delicious. The Chinese food I’ve yet to get into, but among everything, I always go for the tea.
