Riffey Chiropractic

I started going to Riffey Chiropractic last year after watching my daughter go from severe asthma to no meds or inhaler thanks to Dr. Gary & Dr. Cleo. I suffered with a few medical issues that traditional doctors just tossed prescription drugs at.
I had avoided chiropractic care for years since I am not a fan of traditional back-​cracking methods. Dr. Gary won me over with the Activator and his naturopathic approach to health. My husband, who was hit by a car as a pedestrian, is able to once again enjoy the athletic life he had before the accident.
Thanks to Riffey Chiropractic we are able to live a life free of debilitating pain or side-​effect laden meds. Love the Riffey’s…and the office staff is wonderful as well :)

These guys are awesome. Riffeys were recommended to me a few years ago by a friend with chronic health issues that they were able to help. My wife had been suffering from extreme fatigue, joint pain, muscle pain, chronic sinus infections and headaches for nearly her whole life. After seeing a number of doctors who, we thought, would do some comprehensive testing to get to the bottom of it, she was told to exercise more and be less stressed out, and otherwise all of her tests showed her to be the picture of health. The MD’s recommendation was for her to see a psychiatrist.
Then came Dr. Riffey and Dr. Riffey (husband and wife team). My wife and I were both skeptical for a while as some of the techniques seemed weird (like the finger-​pull test another reviewer mentioned), but we rode it out. The Asyra diagnostics turned up a number of food-​sensitivity concerns, so they started her on an elimination diet, starting with rice and chicken for a while then introducing elements to see what might be fixed with diet. Through this process we found that her issues lined up with a gluten intolerance and have cut it out of her diet. It’s like she’s a new woman! Headaches and sinus infections are gone and she has energy enough to keep up with our toddler (well, almost).
As for more run-​of-​the-​mill back pain stuff, I’ve seen Dr. Gary Riffey a couple of times recently. I’ve started a new weight lifting routine and have had some lower back issues due to bad technique. Though the plunger used to make adjustments could seem too mild compared to more aggressive, traditional adjustment techniques, it has worked extremely well to pull everything back together and eliminate my discomfort by remedying the root cause.
I love that I can look to this practice to get to the bottom of whatever’s going on, to treat the problem and not the symptom. I can’t recommend them enough.

I’m a huge fan of this place. Dr. Gary was able to minimize pain and reduce my symptoms when no one else could figure out what was going on with me. If you believe in what they do, you can’t go wrong!

I’ve been going to Riffey Chiropractic on and off for over ten years and I think that they’re amazing. Their naturopathic approach, and their willingness to tackle any physical or physiological concerns is a breath of fresh air for those who are tired of having prescriptions tossed at them by MD’s unwilling to look further than their own limited set of beliefs.
My allergies are almost completely gone, and Advil is a thing of the past. I cannot reccomend them highly enough.

I was not a big fan. I didn’t think the little «Activator» thing (little stick he pokes you with) did anything at all. It felt like someone lightly flicked their fingers against your spin. I don’t know how that could make any changes. I didn’t feel any different. I went about 3 times to give it a chance and felt my money could go to better use.

They would have gotten 5 stars if they took my insurance plan. Who the @#$% doesn’t take Blue Cross POS (with chiropractic option)?
Anyway, I saw male Dr. Riffey. He’s a lightening fast talker, like 6 cups of coffee fast. First began the whirlwind evaluation which involved him tapping specific areas of my head and torso (appropriately…no funny business implied), while trying to pry apart my small finger and thumb. I still don’t get it, but then again I’m not a chiropractor.
Then came the Activator, which I was there for. For those of you who don’t know what this is, it looks like a mini pogo stick, the head of which is used to target and align vertebrae in a safer, more controlled fashion. A few leg raises and clicks on the vertebrae and my spine was again happy. We discussed allergies and migraines, which he states he treats successfully. He tapped on the back of my head and upper back, stating he had «reset» my pancreas. Huh?
The analysis: Activator method was spot on. Poking/​prying finger thing was weird, but not offensive. The «resetting» of internal organs still baffles me, and evokes much eyerolling from non-​believers. BUT… I felt much better over the next few days. I had some GI stuff going on, and it normalized following this treatment. I’m not sure what happened, but I’m a believer.
Unfortunately I cannot afford to go back.
