Outstanding food paired with excellent service!!! Escargot, oysters, crab cakes, filets, and lamb chops… I’ve had them all. No better restaurant in the area! Ashley, Tim, and Rachel behind the bar are rock stars! Always smiling, attentive, welcoming, warm, & busy, but never too busy to make you wait. Top notch food and the staff makes this place a win, win situation. They’re doing a lot of things right here. I’ll definitely be coming back here!

This place is amazing! Had the Diablo mussels, top notch, had the calamari, best I’ve ever had. House salad dressing, woah, new flavor! Entrée was scallops, perfectly cooked! Evelyn our waitress was very polite, snappy with drinks and clean up. The Excalibur sauce with scallops was great combination. Tried to buy the Excalibur sauce, but it’s homemade!

I give this 3.5 stars. Disclaimer: this is just a happy hour review. Kabin krusers is in the front of Rochester Chop House and has a nautical theme to match their menu. It is pretty small and gets crowded and loud during happy hour. Would not suggest for large groups. We went at the very end of happy hour and did not have to wait for a table(but there was just two of us). The service was a little slow, but overall our waitress was pleasant and helped describe some things on the menu. Off the happy hour menu, we got stuffed mushrooms, fried kalamari, and the fish tacos. The fish on the fish tacos was grilled and was pretty good, but overall there was nothing special about the taco(and it was a little small for $ 4). The fried kalamari is the same that they use in The Chop House. The sauce makes this dish, but still nothing over the top. The stuffed mushrooms were by far the best dish. Four large mushrooms stuffed with crap and shrimp come in a skillet with a cream sauce. Delicious! Probably wouldn’t come here if it wasn’t happy hour, and still debating if I will come back.

Happy Hour drinks plus apps = Awesome! Group of 6 girls came here for holiday drinks and bites and had a great time. I really enjoyed the appetizers — both of the fish tacos were good(two different styles — Classic and California). Stuffed mushrooms were excellent! Calamari was great. Buffalo Shrimp was really good. I’m looking forward to coming back for dinner one night soon!

We really like Kabin Krusers for a nice, relaxed evening out in Rochester. It’s usually pretty busy but we have never had more than a few minutes’ wait for a table. Food is very good, not fancy but I highly recommend the James Beard clam chowder. Good bar selection. Service is always top notch. Only complaint would be some of the seafood tastes as though it is frozen, and the oysters are sometimes good, sometimes not. Overall, recommended!

Absolutely terrible! Went here last week and the food is overly priced for what they are dishing out. I was so excited to finally try this place, but sadly the food I ordered tasted like it had been cooked the day prior. On top of the food not being good our server was horrible, she was rude and seemed more interested in being anywhere but at work. Sadly we never caught her name but if I do ever come back I know I don’t want her waiting on me again.

This place is amazing. As a «chop house» I expected crazy expensive prices, but that is not the case. The Kabin Kruiser is the front bar of the Rochester Chop House. I have never had a bad menu item or drink here. Service is very professional and friendly. You are treated like a valued customer, not a number. There are really great happy hour specials, including a very good $ 5 mah-tooney, I mean Martini. I am not a huge fan of oysters, but if I were this would be one of only two place I would consider ordering them at. They have several kinds, and know the nuances of each daily. Food is amazing, try everything. Always seems like a friendly, social crowd. Typically this is the 30+ people, versus the 21 and up people, but everyone is polite and welcome even when it gets crowded(which seems to happen a lot in happy hours!)

Fantastic food, excellent cocktails, great service. You just can’t beat this place for seafood in the Rochester area. First of all, the seafood is great and the portion sizes are right on. The side dishes are tasty, the apps are always worth ordering, and the salads are excellent too. The service is great here. The hardest part is getting a seat on a Friday or Saturday night. But I expect that from a place like this. People want to eat here. The drinks are great too. While it’s not the cheapest happy hour around, the bartenders free pour a nice drink that certainly isn’t weak. It’s much appreciated after a long week of work.

Had a great lunch here with husband and mom… The bloody Mary’s were great!!! I’d go back just for them, and I probably will… Great service a bit afraid to get oysters this far from the water but did and they were yummy… Price was a bit high but well worth it, plus we drink a lot lol really great place give it a try

Amazing afternoon lunch. We had a Caesar salad, one of each of the fish tacos, a bowl and cup of the salmon corn chowder and the chocolate bread pudding. Plus a drink(whisky, pineapple, sour and sprite). What a little lunch from heaven! The chowder was velvety, rich, fresh and delectable. Our waitress was super sweet and helpful. We loved our experience here and will come back for sure!

The food is good for $ 9.95 price tag, certainly, not for $ 21.95.

I took my sister here for dinner, and it was a nice experience. The two top we sat at was on the small side, but it is a small space, so it’s to be expected. We both had nice glasses of wine, and the rolls and flavored butter were delicious. She had a crab stuffed flounder with rice and a kale side, which she said was really good, and I had the gulf shrimp steamer. My side salad was a little overdressed, and the texas toast that came with my entrée was forgettable. The shrimp were delicious. I’d like to come back for their happy hour and try some of the appetizers.

Love this place. It’s a great date night spot with awesome food it can be a little hard to get in because it’s small and fills up quickly. Great vibe on a weekend night!

First time at an oyster bar and I was not disappointed! Tried all the oysters that day in addition to fish tacos and I loved the flavors. The oysters were fresh, the atmosphere was great and service was on point!

What can I say, this place is awesome! From entry to service to check out, nothing was missed, employee attitudes were positive and everything was really good. We were greeted hospitably and seated in a great corner table next to the bar overlooking the street. Reminded me of a small, old world Boston Harbor bar as it was pretty cozy. Our server, Ariel, was very cool and was on top of it all. We ordered apps only, getting the stuffed mushrooms, 24 count Diablo mussels, and calamari. The calamari didn’t seem all that fresh or real as it came out in symmetrical pieces but nevertheless they served their purpose. The mussels were really good but you can honestly eat like 50 of em in one sitting and still have room for more. Watch out for the carb loading on the bread they offer. It’s so good it’s dangerous. The back room is the actual Rochester Chop House, where the well to do get their chops and shanks while wearing a sport coat. I’ve never been in the building but I think I’d stick to the front house Cabin Krusers as its more my style and price range. Highly recommended and I’ll probably go back just to sit at the bar and scoff a few beers and shots down for good measure! Oh yeah I also drew all over the brown paper table cloth with the provided black crayons. I can’t help it!

Gave 4 stars because the crab stuffed Maryland chicken was overcooked. It was tough, but otherwise tasty. Hubby had fish and chips; very generous, hot and tender. He also had their famous clam chowder which was delish ! Our server was the bomb. She was rite on. ASHLEY was great. We frequently dine at K&M in Rochester, we love the hipster atmosphere and the cozy ambiance.

This place is great! The food is delicious, and the bread is amazing!!! May I recommend the burger found on the lighter option of the menu. It’s a nice place not too fancy, and connected to the Rochester Chop House. The prices are very reasonable as well! They have a bar area as well and the inside feels like your on a boat!

The type of joint where you end up spending $ 60 on nothing but seafood appetizers and IPA’s and that’s not a bad thing. I really enjoyed the small-town bar vibe that this place portrayed, even though it was connected to the Rochester Chop house. It’s part of a larger chain of local steak houses but doesn’t have that uppity vibe. Come in with your chinos and boat shoes and get drunk at the bar or just eat too many crab cakes. This is not the type of place that will care. It was a bit crowded during our visit, but we went on a Saturday night so it is our own damn fault. Try the fish tacos.

This is my go to spot on Sunday’s. They offer a dynamite Happy Hour from 2 – 5 with items nearly half priced. Fish tacos for $ 4, half dozen oysters for $ 10, calamari, mussels and a few more for only $ 5! It’s a great deal. We take the whole family and fill the table up with apps and the bill is pleasantly low.

Yes I usually love eating here. However, stopped in for a late dinner and I was really disappointed. Ordered the crab cake and what a mistake. Not only was it burned on one side, it was barely luke warm. A as you see by the picture it looked like it was thrown together in hast, and it was full of pieces of crab shells. My stuffed mushrooms were good.
