Jerry’s Gun Shop

Took my gun into Jerry’s to see if I could get help installing new sights. Since I did not purchase the sights at the store the gunsmith did not seem interested in installing them for me. I was more than willing to buy a front sight from him, and pay for installation, but all I got from them was to take it back to whom I purchased it from.
Morale of the story is if you didn’t buy it from Jerry’s don’t plan on taking it there for work.

I recently decided to purchase a gun and wanted to patronize a private business establishment in my area. After some searching, I entered Jerry’s Gun Shop chose the Beretta civilian version of the M9. The salesperson showed me what I thought was the gun. He said it was a great pistol and it came with two high capacity magazines. He also stated it was the only one he had one in stock, so I put a $ 100 deposit on it, paying a total of $ 675. After a week, I returned to the store to pick up the gun and noticed that what I put a deposit on was not the M9, but the 92FS. Both pistols are nearly identical however, I wanted the M9 for sentimental reasons, as I am a veteran and the M9 is the current US Army service pistol. The M9 was $ 25.00 more in price, so I paid the difference.
The salesperson was happy to switch to the M9 and took the additional $ 25 from me. When I got the pistol home, I immediately realized the M9 came with two 10 round mags, not the two 15 round mags. I called back to explain what had happened and the salesman said that it most likely was because of what the Obama administration is doing with gun control. I reminded him that the gun did in fact come two 15 round mags. He stated that I would have to take it up with the owner.
Since it was Friday, I had to wait until Monday when the owner returned. While waiting, I decided to buy some ammo for the pistol. When I entered a local competitor, I noticed that the same gun was selling for $ 599.99 with two 15 round magazines. I brought this up with the owner on the following Monday and he said that he couldn’t do anything for me. After some discussion, he agreed to order two 15 round magazines to help satisfy me. Since I couldn’t do much about it, I accepted his offer.
Finally, after waiting a week for the magazines to arrive, the owner called to invite me back. He told me that I would have to return the two 10 round magazines in order to receive the two 15 round magazines. I was in disbelief. I reminded him that the same gun is retailing for $ 100 less everywhere else, including two 15 round magazines and that the reason the two extra mags were ordered was to help make the transaction more equitable for me. He insisted that I bring the mags back, but after some debate he agreed to only take one of my mags back in exchange for the two 15 round mags.
To sum things up. The store was not very knowledgeable about this product (especially, as he blamed Obama for the magazine issue), Additionally, the pricing is way out of line compared to many other businesses in the area. I ended up paying $ 100 more for a gun that came with lower capacity magazines. When I brought this issue up with the store, the sales staff and owner seemed to be annoyed. They will no longer get my business. Too bad, as I wanted to establish a relationship with a local business, not some chain store. I was even willing to pay a little extra. He lost me as a patron, not necessarily because of his pricing, but because he insisted that I return one of my 10 round magazines in exchange for the higher capacity mags the gun should have come with in the first place. I can’t understand how some people would be willing to lose customers for such a trivial amount of money, as a 10 round mags generally sells for around $ 30. I would have been happy had he given me both magazines while letting me keep mine. I plan to purchase two additional guns, but not from him.
