Our number one specialty is being 100% vegetarian and vegan friendly with meat alternatives for meat lovers. Despite of being vegetarian only, with fresh, tasty and wholesome options like Breakfast Burrito, and Lunch Specials, we continue to bring back meat lovers for over a year. One of the items in our lunch menu is the Daily Special.

History

Established in 2013.

Originally named Amrtam Café opened in June 2013, focused on catering meal plans to students in and around RIT and University of Rochester. It was then temporarily closed in November the same year to reevaluate the philosophy and the current practice by the business at that time. Amrtam Café was changed to Amudam Café and opened again November 2014 with the revised menu being Vegetarian only.

Great brunch and burger was to die for! Great char and in top 5 my husband and I have ever had! Great atmosphere and a lot of drinks to choose from. Forget boring chain restaurants and come to the city and try something new!

Excellent lunch food — loaded burrito and daily specials are fantastic. I’m a meat eater but could eat here for lunch daily. The Indian flavors and spices are incredibly tasty. And the owners and cook are very pleasant people as well. I’d highly recommend if your in the area and looking for something a little out of the ordinary.

My favorite place for lunch in downtown Rochester! I’m not vegetarian, but I appreciate a lighter option now and then. I think the primary focus of the restaurant is veg food, but there is also a heavy Sri Lankan influence on the menu. (I have a minimally-​informed opinion, but I find a lot of the dishes similar to southern Indian cooking.)
Their daily specials are fantastic — I haven’t ordered off the fixed menu yet because the lunch special is always so appetizing. Very ample portions as well for less than $ 5.
They are on the ground floor of Catholic Family Services, just a hair north of the transit center, kitty-​corner from St. Joseph’s Park (the old church façade). It looks like most people grab and go, but there is a ton of seating, as well.
