Gerald S touched upon some very insightful info in his review. True, the ambiance and décor is very inviting, and on this Thursday lunch visit the space was mostly filled with patrons. True, the rent must be pretty high here, with prices reflecting this. True also, the cupcakes need a bit of attentiveness on the purchasers part. I had already sampled these cupcakes at an area farmer’s market before they occupied this shop. And from what I recall they were a bit less expensive. I really just wanted to see what other baked treats they were offering. I did get 2, a rocky road that had marshmallow in the center with a light chocolate icing. It was pretty good, with nuts, chocolate shavings and mini marshmallows topping it off. The other was a black and white, this had a buttercream center with a black and white swirled icing. It was ok. From the other offerings I selected a chocolate heart, it was better than the cupcakes, with dark chocolate shavings on the side, dark chocolate ganache on top, and a butter cream center. The cake part was the same as the cupcake component, and may have been a great dessert had they used a denser batter. With 3 brownies to choose from I picked a Samoa. This was probably my favorite item, toasted coconut and caramel on top of a very dense cake. There were other items of interest that I might be tempted to return for. Namely the mini mousse pies. If you do come here for the cupcakes, try to consume them at room temp. They are under refrigeration and really benefit from a slight thaw, even a few seconds in a microwave. With so many flavor options you should be able to satisfy many tastes if you purchase a 6 pack, keeping in mind that you get a free cake with every 5 that you buy. I’m glad that I visited, but am not sure that another trip will be forthcoming. 3.5 still seeking cupcake Nirvana Unilocal

This place is so beautiful that I would give five stars for aesthetics alone. Perfect for babies and kids because it’s spacious and quiet, with not only yummy cakes but an excellent savory menu. Loved the mint macaron and my egg white frittata. I love these independent stores and would love to see it as crowded as the neighborhood Starbucks. Update: went back a second time and tried their lunch menu. Excellent quality but at 9.95, a couple dollars overpriced.

Sadiecakes Café is a tale of two cities. The golden light village on the hill, and not quite what is appear village below. The interior space is bright, airy, pastel, with high ceilings and glass walls letting the sunlight enter and set the room aglow. There are easychairs in the corners for a relaxing stay, and a communal table in the center where strangers sip java and become acquainted. Decorations complete the turn of the last century country feel of the place. It is all very nice. The menu is fitting for the ambiance. Fresh ingredients, superior bread, interesting coffee and tea, all play their part. And, in one of the refrigeration units, an assortment of their«signature» cupcakes, all with top hats made of swirled icing as high as the base cake itself. My first visit, I ordered something simple — Turkey Pannini and Iced Tea, and took a seat at the center table. When my lunch arrived it was as attractive as the café itself, and expressed the artistry of the kitchen well. The Roast Turkey, Melted Brie, thin Apple Slices, and Arugula in a recently baked Ciabatta, made for an excellent sandwich. I wouldn’t describe it as a Pannini as it was not grilled, not pressed, but merely warmed to melt the cheese. It might be a good idea to let people know with a short sentence in the menu. At $ 9.50 for the plate, plus a couple bucks more for the small iced tea, Sadie pushed the bounds of reasonableness. Of course, I don’t pay the rent. On my way out I decided to check out a cupcake; Key Lime Pie, complete with a wedge of lime sitting on top of the thick looking icing. It was packaged nicely in a small brown box, complete with a cardboard shelf with a hole in the middle through which to set the mini cake. I took it with me intending to have it later in the day. As the day was hot, I brought it into my air conditioned office to protect it, and again into my A/C car to get it home. When I finally opened the box that evening, the sweet bouffant icing had collapsed and spread across the bottom of the box like a white mudslide. It still tasted pretty good, but I learned that this was not solid buttercream, but a much lighter and aerated topping. Something of a disappointment. The moral of this tale is that while the palace may appear gleaming on the hill, there may still remain something less pleasurable lurking just beneath the surface.

Huge fan of Sadie Cakes! Amazing banana nut bread. Got lucky one day when they had blueberry mini muffins– best I’ve had! Great coffee drinks, food, everything! Great people and customer service. They allowed me to stop in last minute before closing to pick up a few cupcakes! Thanks Dan! I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area!

Sadiecakes created a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cake for our son’s 4th birthday party. The design was top notch and the cake was delicious! Words cannot describe how happy my wife and I were this afternoon at the party. THANKYOU!!!

I called to place an order for a bridal shower over the phone. The woman said she would have the owner call me back. Three days later, still no call. So I called back and spoke with the owner who said to email her what I wanted and she would send me a price back in 24 hours. I waited over a week, no call or email, I called back and spoke to the order manager. He said he sees my email and he’d have the owner call me after 4. No call. Two days later, my husband called. The owner wasn’t in and no call back I guess they don’t want my business, or they don’t enjoy doing parties. Not sure, either way. I’m disappointed. Terrible customer service.

don’t know whether to be happy or sad that I found this little gem. I love their«Secret Agent» cupcake which is bad news for my diet. super yummy, the perfect mix of salty and sweet. as another reviewer mentioned, it is true the treats are stored in a cooler, so the icing and cake are not room temp. they are not rock hard like a grocery store either though. anyway, I came here yesterday to kill some time and I am back today to work a bit(free wifi!). it’s a snowy day, but it is relatively busy considering. both days I ordered the cupcake and a cappuccino(it’s effing hot as shit! drink slowly!!). today i also ordered the soup of the day, shrimp chowder. i’m a happy lady. check them out!

I WANT to love this place, I really, really do, but I think my patience has finally run out. Their coffee was always stellar, but the last two times the house blend tasted watered down. The baked goods seem to be getting to taste like pure sugar. I tried a brownie and could only manage one bite, it was almost disgustingly sweet. I like my sweets but this was too much. Even the cupcakes are just so sickenly sweet it masks any other flavor. They’ve also become very grainy and dry. Sad to say after amost 18 months of stopping here a couple times a month, I think I’ve finally given up on it. Service was eh. Just eh. Too bad, but I hope that someone reads this review and spruces it up a bit because the place is adorable and I really want them to succeed.

Friendly staff and awesome looking cupcakes. Unfortunately the cupcakes are stored in a cooler and eating them on the spot means chilled cake and icing. The cupcakes have great flavor but the texture and icing are far from ideal or gourmet due to being cold. This also makes me wonder how long they keep the cupcakes. House of cupcakes in Princeton keeps the cupcakes in the open air which Keeps them light and fluffy and the icing smooth. They also donate everything unsold every night which is why they don’t bother with a chiller. Good try but not the best.

Great ambiance, Food is amazing. Try the fresh salads and sandwiches. Fresh made bread, try the multigrain you can not go wrong. This place is so much more than just cupcakes. Don’t let the name fool you. Get on over to Sadie Cakes. just not on Mondays, they are closed as they create new exciting items to share with you in the future.

Lots of gluten free options, the GF banana bread tasted delicious, cupcakes were beautiful. They had almond milk for latte’s which I appreciate and my best friend loved the regular coffee. If you find yourself in the area this is a great stop or if you just want a great tasting beautiful dessert. Gluten free done right!

Adorable café in Robbinsville. The décor and atmosphere is great. They not only serve tasty cupcakes, they also have breakfast and lunch items on the menu. The food is fresh and made to order. The staff is friendly and quick. It’s a great place to enjoy a latte and a treat on Sunday morning. They even make homemade dog treats for your four-legged friend!

As an update to my last review: I have now eaten the cupcakes at home, after they’ve warmed a little from being in the cooler and they were much better! Also, I keep going back for their Harvest Salad! Kale, quinoa, butternut squash, etc… I can’t get enough!

I live in the nearby condos and have stopped by now a few times. My opinion is similar to most of those I have read here. There is so much potential and it could be a great place, just a few things need to be addressed and tweaked. First, like so many have said the place is adorable. There needs to be nothing done to the décor, great job! I agree that customer service can be hit or miss, some consistent effort to provide great customer service would go a long way. Today, I was craving a good chicken salad sandwich and ordered it for pick up. When I got home, I was a little disappointed. The bread was a nice hearty slice of delicious multigrain bread, but one whole half had hardly any chicken salad. It was really about a ½ sandwich worth. For a $ 10 sandwich with nothing on the side, that is really weak. I just seem to find often times that for the prices they are charging I should feel like I’m getting my money’s worth a bit more. Please, owners… read everyone’s reviews! We are all saying pretty close to the same thing and we like it here and want to see this place succeed and thrive.

Great salads, bad desserts. I had a fantastic salad with quinoa and kale, which I would order again in a heartbeat. I also tried a cheese biscuit(average), a ginger-peach scone(average), a macaroon(average), and a meringue(awful). I will not order another baked good here, but I will return for the salad.
