We had our roof done by these guys after being referred by our neighbor to them. I must say I was highly impressed by the service provided by their staff. The gentleman that came and gave the estimate was very honest with his assessment and what sold us, was you don’t put anything down until the job is done and you’re happy with it. They were in and out of there in 2 days. The yard was cleaner when they left than it was before they started. We will be needing vinyl siding soon, and I will be sure to go through them.

We contacted Marshall to re-​do the roof on our new house. When we first called they said they only needed an address to do the quote. Later they followed up with an appointment to take a closer look at the roof. It probably took a few weeks from quote to completion, but they were in contact with us the entire time, selecting roof tiles and looking at time frames.
They did the job a couple of weeks ago. We were shocked when they said it would only take a day or two! They rolled up first thing in the morning with a dumpster and a full crew of workers who set to work right away. They worked up until evening, even though it started snowing a bit. They next day they came back, swept up the snow and debris and went right to work again. In all, it only took a day and a half, and it looks gorgeous! We also had a load of rain the following week and not a leak in sight.
Pricing was mid-​range, but I think for work like this, you don’t want to go with the cheapest contractor available or your roof might fall on your head. We will definitely contact them for more work in the future.

Marshall Building is hands down the best in RI and MA! We have used this company two years in a row to update our 1930s Dutch colonial located in Providence. The first project was 18 Harvey replacement windows done in 2014. The second job was a new roof, vinyl siding, and gutters that was just completed.
After getting several quotes in 2014 I found Marshall to be fairly priced and the most knowledgeable. Additionally, the customer pays nothing until the job is completed! This increased my confidence that the job was going to get done right and alleviated all the stress of having work done to the house. And as I expected the windows are still amazing a year later.
Having such a wonderful experience last year, Marshall was the only company I contacted when I needed a roof, siding, and gutters. And yet again they did a perfect job. I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome. Andy Marshall was very laid back during the consultation patiently walking us through color selections and helping us decide all the details of the project. Jeff the project manager came to the house at the beginning of the job to answer all of our questions and review final selections. The entire work crew led by Anatoly were extremely professional and left the job site neat and organized at the end of every work day. Marshall literally changed my house to the exact vision I had in my head! (And I’m a very particular person)
I can not thank this company enough for all they have done to transform my sad old house to the home of my dreams. If your house needs a little sprucing up or a major renovation Marshall Building should be at the top of the list!

I recently had all new Harvey windows installed by Marshall building company. The job was done perfectly. This company, the owner, the installer and the painter for the finish work were flawless, friendly and efficient. After hearing the company’s advertisement on the radio, I gave them a call on behalf of our condo board. We were looking to vinyl side 24,000 sq foot worth of buildings.
After two no-​shows, a gentleman (one of the marshall’s) came out to meet me. We walked the complex, took measurements, and went over scope.
Never heard back!
I tried calling 5 different times, before finally blacklisting them as a contractor from all of our properties.
Don’t waste your time with these clowns. there’s plenty of contractors who can actually show up, return calls, & communicate.

I needed roof, siding, and some windows. Marshall was one of 3 bids but after the first quick meeting with each bidder, it was obvious Marshall was the only one worth considering. They were so impressive, I never followed up on negotiations with the others. Andy Marshall was very knowledgeable and knew what to recommend. He spent enough time reviewing the job to know and describe the work to be done so there were no surprises later on but he did not try to upsell anything or drive the price up. Every worker that came onsite was trust worthy and very good at their job with most being long-​time workers for Marshall. I never worried about any worker being at my house with me gone. Every person I dealt with was professional but friendly enough so I felt like I was dealing with friends. The crews worked in some very cold weather and had to clear snow several days in order to work around my house. The job came out great. I recommend completely and I actually have a neighbor that just contracted with them to start a project at her house. She didn’t bother calling anyone else after she saw my finished job and knew how satisfied I was. They are very high on my list to recommend to other people I know. I had one small issue that required a follow up and they responded immediately and fixed it. That left me with a great impression because of the way they were still interested in complete customer satisfaction even after my check cleared. Perfect company to deal with.

We were in dire need of new siding on the top two stories of our multi-​family. We focused in on a few top-​rate contractors and got a few quotes. We decide on Marshall for two reasons: 1) the price was fair and 2) Andy Marshall was upfront, down to business, and didn’t engage in any high-​pressure sales tactics, nor did he try to over-​sell us on services. He was able to balance our need to seal up our siding and increase curb appeal with being more frugal. We had a different contractor come in, inflate the scope of work needed and project cost, and try to scare us into thinking our house was going to fall over. Andy, by contrast, was so much nicer to deal with and didn’t leave us feeling like we were getting ripped off.
We were very fortunate and Marshall had an immediate opening for our project after another client had to postpone. We signed the contract on a Friday, the crew showed up the following Tuesday, and they were done by Monday at noon. The crew itself was also great and professional. They worked from about 8 – 4, which was perfect for me since that’s when I’m at work. Our house looks so good and it was a great, non-​stressful major renovation. (Yes, I said «non-​stressful.»)
We would absolutely use Marshall again if the need arises. Our realtor also came by and was floored. He asked what brand of composite they used and was blown away when I told him it was vinyl Overall, a really positive experience and I would recommend Marshall highly.

I thought I’d post a review of the roofing job done for me by Marshall Building and Remodeling. My house has had a number of additions that were built over the years, so the roof is a large one with many dormers and angles, a circular tower, 2 chimneys, and a skylight. When the time came to replace the roof, I called 3 companies. Two of them sent salespeople whose job was to measure and quote as quickly as possible. Marshall was different. They spent a lot of time asking questions about any problems I’d faced, talking about how to do a roof correctly, helping to select the right shingles, and making sure they understood what kind of peace of mind I wanted when the job was done. So, I hired them. Their crew showed up at dawn, every day, and worked hard until the sun went down. They knew what they were doing, especially how to protect valleys and joins from water intrusion. Their service manager showed up every day to inspect their progress and asked if I liked how things were going. They fixed little things along the way, like some fascia boards that weren’t part of the quote but could cause future problems, and didn’t charge me. They didn’t ask for payment until the job was done and I was happy. They were very neat, and cleaned up every day. The house really looks beautiful with its new roof. I’d recommend Marshall’s to anyone who wants a roof done right, by people who really care. You can trust them. The job was done in 2011 and I haven’t had a problem with the roof since. Not one.

Would not recommend this company. The owner/​salesman Tom will tell you what ever you want to hear to get the job then fails to follow through with promises. Job was never started on time like stated, and workers would never work a full day either due to threat of heat or rain. When house was being worked on we did not like how some of the siding was looking and wanted it replaced to the layout we wanted, yet the owner/​salesman Tom argued that the way his workers did is the way it was going to stay even know we were paying the bill. Owner/​Salesman Tom would never show up to see how things were going and when requested to show up he still would not. Very poor customer service! The yard was left with tons of little sharp vinyl and aluminum debris all over it and instead of calling them back decided to clean it up mylself just to get rid of Marshalls!

We hired Marshall to side our house earlier this year. At first we felt very comfortable with the salesman, the quoted price, and the estimated timeline to complete the job (1 week). Once the workers started the job, things began to go downhill. They left our yard a complete mess until their boss yelled at them, did not put in full days on the job, sometimes not coming in due to the threat of rain. The job took three plus weeks to finish, and when the job was complete multiple tools were missing from our garage, and various things were done half ass, for example, they did not give one of our water spigots enough room to connect a hose to so I had to fix this myself. They left a gaping hole in our dining room wall where they removed a cat door, and did not hook up some of the gutter drainage properly, amongst other things. While the salesman apologized for this and told us the workers would be back to fix their mistakes, well we are still waiting. And of course no one copped to the missing tools… the salesman offered us various forms of compensation after acting defensively but again we are still waiting despite us paying in full…
Bottom line… do not hire this company, they have poor customer service and minimal follow through. I thought the customer was always right?
