El super just bought this place a few months ago. Real bad service and merchandise. Prices are good but i prefer to go to their other store in corona. Same great prices but better service. Their meat selection is great but their clerks need to be more knowledgeable. But it is understandable since most of their employees are new

I stopped going to El Tapatio back in 2012 because the employees don’t have an inkling of what good customer service is and still today they don’t. I went in only because my daughter was craving a ‘paleta’. Well, big mistake… not only did we stand in line for nearly 20 minutes because the incompetent cashier ‘eli’ had a customer with TWO full CARTS in the 15ITEMSORLESS line, but when I confronted him about it he looked at me and said ‘the sign wasn’t there last night, and i didn’t see it’…are you freaking kidding me?! The sign is brighter than bright yellow! So I guess that was his version of an apology… pathetic.

Food is still good but the Service has gone down hill. There is no more table service and the condiments bar has fewer selections. Also the menu board is gone. So I had no idea what was available.

they ran out of ceviche, it never happened when it was el Tapatio market, they took down the menu board so you don’t know what they have. A bunch of small signs hard to see.

Love their shrimp ceviche and carnitas. My husband is a picky eater and he really enjoyed eating their food.

I don’t come here all the time, I make a trip here only if I really have to. The reason for this is the parking is rediculous, especially on weekends… There’s shopping carts all over the place, my cars have a few dents from this place… I went in this afternoon, and the cashier was extremely slow. And it was the 15 items or less line, any way to check 2 people out with a minimum amount of items took a good 15 – 20 minutes. She took her preciouse time And seemed as if she hated her job, no smiles no thank you… nothing…

Cheap produce(average for a Mexican market). Cardenas is much better though. Some of the stuff here looks rotten. I think their prices should be lower since they’re right next to Cardenas, which has better meat, produce, everything, and for the same price, or lower. Also, I waited *literally* 20 min in line. Never again!

We ate before shopping! It was better than i imagined. After we had dinner we shopped for our groceries. Prices are not the lowest but the produce was beautiful compared to other local latino markets. The bakery had a great selection. It is a bit far from me but am willing to make the drive for another dinner and shopping experience.

Great food court in this market. A big plus is the sea food kiosk they have in side. Food not overly greasy of full of lard. Nothing like a tasty ceviche tostada or shrimp cocktail for a hungry stomach. And lets not forget those tasty green apple Mexican sodas!

El Tapatio Market is a wonderful experience. More than a grocery store, they have a bank, a jeweler a(full service) bakery, a taqueria, they even have a tortilla factory all under one roof! Great prices and we’ll ran. Above all there is a sense of community. There is something charitable about the place they seem to be the kind of place to give a hand up to the community.

I shop here mostly for their meats which are reasonably priced and far cheaper and of better quality than Cardenas. I tend to overlook their fresh produce as it usually looks old but I do buy my dried goods. Their fresh bread taste like real bread unlike Cardenas. The only complaint I have is the ridiculously long lines and usually only two cashiers working.

The best part about this place is the cheap prices for most products. The bakery items are very good and they have great marinated meats. However, DONOT per-order cakes from the bakery because it doesn’t matter what was written down on the order form because the girls back there will go ahead and put whatever they feel like on your special order cake. I ordered a cake for my son’s birthday party and specifically said I wanted the balloons decorations all over the cake. They put stars on the cake and only a few of them. Then they messed up on the edging/color so bad my guests thought that I made it. When I called to complain they told me that the manager doesn’t speak English. Wow, what a surprise. I asked them what they were going to do about my cake not being the right color and decorations and she told me to come back in and she’d remake it. I asked her if she would tell a bride to come back in on her wedding day if they messed up the cake? She said, yes. She was unapologetic and completely indifferent that they had messed up my sons cake. They obviously need customer service training. I am surprised that people are claiming that this place is clean because its a health department nightmare. If you ask for chicken at the butcher counter they will hand you a bag of the chicken with the chicken juices leaking out of the bag and all over the counter. And, no– she didn’t even wipe up the contaminated counter. Gross. Then there’s the dairy. Apparently this person doesn’t eat sliced meats inside of a sandwich cause when I asked for some roast beef I could see that he was slicing the beef way too thick. I asked him to make them smaller for sandwiches and all I got was a confused look and he proceeded to slice away. The prices are cheap and you get what you pay for. Once a piece of vegetable lasted in my refrigerator for three weeks. I didnt eat it and was timing how long it would last before it spoiled. It’s scary to think of how many chemicals are being sprayed on the produce at this store, which is why they can offer such low prices.

Wow, this is a really cool Mexican Market! Their produce section is huge, with usually better prices than big chain grocery stores. They have an indoor food court type of set up, with good authentic Mexican food, and comfortable seating. They have really yummy pastries, and a good meat department. If I were to have a complaint, it would be the lack of English signs for those of us who don’t speak or read Spanish.

Review on a grocery store? Technically no. Yes, Tapatio is known primarily as a grocery store, but the real gold lies in their bakery and kitchen area!!! Their cakes are baked to perfection. They take orders in advance, but also have fresh cakes in the beginning of the day! Their tres leches cake is heavenly! SERIOUSLY! They also provide a massive array of sweet bread! Their kitchen dishes out some great eats! Their mole is on point, but the fajitas are my absolute FAVORITE!!! The serving for each dish is extremely filling! So next time you’re grocery shopping stop by Tapatio and stumble upon great eats!

I took my class on a field trip to El Tapatio market and we had a fantastic time. The person that set up the trip was so helpful in organizing it. We arrived, we got a tour of the whole market and then each child received a FREE lunch. My students and I love El Tapatio Market. Thank You for such a fun field trip.

Mexican market staple. Cheap prices on groceries and vegetables, literally sometimes half the price you will pay for at american grocery chains. Huge supermarket and they even have a sit down area for you to eat once you order from their Mexican food. They have plates such as tacos and burritos and even a mexican bakery area with freshly made bread daily. Their cake department takes orders and with their prices you will be satisfied with what you get!

My new favorite place for casual eating and to get to go food. Probably best Mexican food in Riveride! They are a supermarket with a huge fresh produce selection, cheaper and bigger fruit and vegetable selections then most regular non-Hispanic supermarket chains. What makes this location stand out among the rest, is their restaurant/cocina area. They have this eating area set up, bright/friendly/clean, with a condiment bar that beats any and all Mexican restaurants in the area. P. S. Special treat — Don’t miss out on walking down to the Bakery section and getting a big piece of «Tres Leches» cake for $ 1.99.

I think Tapatio edges Maxi Foods by a hair when it comes to their asada marinated meats. If you don’t know about this supermarket, then all you need to know is that this is a Mexican super store. You can cash your checks here too. Not sure about fake ID’s though…
