Woods Home Improvements specializes in the following: kitchens and bathrooms, basement and attic family rooms and offices, decks, pergolas, and new exterior stairs and porches. We offer interior painting and deck staining. We also feature flooring: carpet, hardwood (raw to be finished onsite, prefinished, engineered), laminates, vinyl flooring, and tile. In addition, we specialize in custom work of all types including trim (matching woodwork to the style of your home), built-​in shelving and children’s beds, wedding canopies, playhouses, etc. We are limited only by your imagination.

Each job is important to us and our job isn’t complete until you are happy.

History

Established in 2004.

We grew up in the nearwest suburbs of Chicago and have a deep appreciation of the beautiful and diverse architectural styles of the area. We are committed to helping you design your new space and select the materials that are just right for the character of your home. We keep your informed about what’s happening during construction and will see the job through to completion.

Business Owner

I grew up in small towns in western Illinois and moved to Oak Park in my early teens, attending Oak Park-​River Forest High School. I helped manage a company in Oak Park for a number of years, learning how to multi-​task and manage a project from beginning to end. I developed an early love of home design and a strong desire to make that design come alive, My family and I moved to northern Wisconsin where I honed my skills in carpentry and construction. I enjoyed building lakefront homes as well as working on commercial spaces. I also enjoyed the lovely outdoor life this area provided. We moved back to the Chicago area in 2004 and I have continued to work in the home improvement industry.
