History

Established in 1953.

The Deegan family bought the funeral home in 1953. Jack Deegan took over for his father in 1975 buying the funeral home and in 1988 purchased the Ripon location. In 2002 Jack retired but is still involved with services from time to time.

Meet the Manager

Ashley V.

Manager

Ashley was born and raised in Modesto, CA; she attended Modesto High, MJC and finished her education at CSU Stanislaus earning her Bachelors degree in Forensic Anthropology. Ashley comes from a farming background in West County Modesto in the Wood Colony area where her family has farmed almonds for 3 generations.

Ashley was brand new to the funeral industry when she started at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home in May of 2012. Previously she interned at the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office working as an autopsy tech. She also coached competitive gymnastics for 10 years prior to joining Franklin & Downs. In March of 2015 Ashley took the position of Managing Partner for Deegan Funeral Chapels in Escalon and Ripon.

Ashley and her husband Cody have one daughter, Logan. Together they live in Salida and enjoy camping, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
