History

Established in 2013.

We started Planet Swirl in Ridgewood in 2013. Our goal was to serve best frozen yogurt and deserts to Bergen county.

Ever since we have been awards as Best Frozen yogurt 2014 (source: Bergen Health & Fitness) and Best frozen yogurt 2015 (source: 201 Magazine)

After looking at these achievements, we want to thank you all for helping us achieve these awards. Thank you for your reviews and thank you to Planet Swirl Ridgewood team to make it all happen.

Currently working as Director Applications Development with a Media related company for the last 14 years.

We specialize in Media related software that relies on Research data to determine where to place your adds both on-​Air and Off air.

Along with this challenging job, I am working with my lovely wife Saima Ammar to efficiently run Planet Swirl in Ridgewood NJ.

The cake batter flavor is delicious. They had a wide variety of toppings and flavors which I was very impressed by. The lady behind the counter is super sweet and made me feel really welcomed. I feel like this place is very underrated and deserves a lot more attention for its quality and hospitality.

Made the mistake bringing my kids here for dinner, followed by dessert. While the dessert was simply OK, the dinner was horrifically bad. My kids both Ordered a bacon cheeseburger, which came out as a plain burger with burnt bacon on it on a Kaiser roll. While I am pretty understanding and typically do not make a fuss, I had to point out that it was not cooked to order and the fries and coleslaw were missing. For $ 7.99, I would much much rather have preferred to take my kids to a fast food joint and get a tastier and better version of a burger. While we may return for yogurt, because of the location, I will never ever come here again for food

They have just started serving HALAL food. We went their last eve and tried burgers and sandwiches. Everything was good and reasonably priced. Servers’attitude was also friendly. Will definitely go once in a month or so.

I got a really weird vibe when entering this store. Dark, battlestar-​galactica-​ish ambience, and quiet. Had the mango sorbet with few fruit toppings. Frozen yogurt is kinda getting overrated in this neighborhood.

There are no shortage of ice cream/​frozen yogurt places here in Ridgewood (6 at last count), so it takes a lot to stand out. Fortunately, I can safely say that Planet Swirl does indeed stand out. For starters, this is one of the few froyo places with a «foundation station»: crushed waffle cones or cookies that you can put at the bottom of your bowl, located right where the bowls are. There are no shortage of flavors and toppings, and flavors are often paired next to each other to offer some decent pre-​set mixes — my friend was beyond happy to finally see a frozen yogurt place that offered his two favorite flavors in the same mixer: peanut butter and caramel. And the toppings run the gamut: everything from sprinkles to mochi to caramel turtles to chocolate chip cookies to fruits & nuts to chocolate-​covered gummi bears (!!).
I’m baffled by the accusations of unfriendly staffers. Every time I’ve gone here — and I’ve gone here on weekday afternoons, evenings, and I’ve been that employee-​dreaded fear of the half-​hour-​til-​closing walk-​in. And I’ve been greeted with nothing less than a smile and a «thank you.»
There are several items on the menu besides frozen yogurt worth getting: cakes, pies, shakes, and coffee to name a few. It’s easy to see what makes Planet Swirl stand apart: variety.

This place was nothing special as far as frozen yogurt places go. The cashier was unfriendly and a bit rude. Asking like the sign said in the store for a «sample cup» the cashier was a bit abrasive and said «I have to help you with that» and left the counter annoyed at my request, as well as seemed a little perplexed and annoyed when I only wanted to try one flavor.
I had the «peanut butter cookie» frozen yogurt and it really didn’t taste like peanut butter or cookies. The service was slow to get my yogurt weighed, which lead it to melt more under the hot fudge.
Over all, I don’t think I’d go back.

Came in, silent. The store is dark, cashier was not friendly.
They offer a decent variety in desserts (froyo, toppings, cuocakes, cookies) but i wish the customer service was more welcoming, it was as if he was rushing us out.

Had a great experience here. Staff was friendly and they had plenty of great flavors to choose from, as well as plenty of toppings. Frozen yogurt tastes great and there is plenty of seating inside if you want to stay. Definitely would recommend and will go back throughout the summer!

I threw a birthday party for my daughter yesterday and it was horrible. The owners were very rude and kept talking to me throughout the party as I was trying to enjoy my daughters day. I rented out the back room and some of my guests sat in the front of the store. Instead of nicely telling my guests that the space was no reserved the owner ran back to me and said that people are sitting in the front of the store so we are charging you another room fee for the front. They also handed me rules and regulations of the party 45 minutes into the party. It was never given before. Yogurt was pushed on us to buy and they were overall rude. They owners were not accommodating at all and made my daughters party stressful and chaotic. I would say STAY AWAY!!!

Decided to visit here after purchasing a Groupon.
Average yogurt spot with a nice interior and good music.
Wish they had offered samples, so we could decide on which fro-​yo to get.
They have a lot of toppings and iPads you can use while eating.
