History

Established in 2010.

Having a knack for dancing, I’ve been tapping my feet since I was 4 years old. Having danced and sung at an early age, I never lost that love for self-​expression. So, when I became Zumba certified, it was like reliving my early years of performing. Now, I happily share my renewed love for dancing with my students and the goal now is to help educate on the importance of fitness, a healthy lifestyle and mindset. Not only does Zumba help the body stay fit but also the mind and soul get refreshed with exuberance and positiveness. I am here to support and to share a love for life. I am very grateful for the opportunity to spread this message. To that I say: Weeeepppaaaa.

Aqua Zumba is fun, fun, fun! Oscar is very entertaining, energetic, funny and knows his stuff. I do pay attention to my body to keep the moves right for me, but feel it is a good class for people with various aches and pains and ages. The women and the few brave men are great, and funny too. The Plunge is a gem of a pool, newly remodeled, clean, and low chlorine water. I look forward to trying Zumba toning with Oscar too.

I attended Oscar’s Toning class yesterday @ Studio925. It was super fun and invigorating. Oscar is a very flexible, creative, and adaptable teacher and you feel that you are safe with his choreos. Oscar has a very happy and encouraging disposition throughout the class. He makes everyone feel that we can all do it!!!
Hoping that Oscar would have more classes in Central CoCo very soon! We need him. He has a variety of Zumba expertise that the Pacheco-​Concord-​Walnut Creek-​Lafayette area does not have a lot of availability yet; e.g. Toning, Sentao, etc.

Aqua Zumba is FANTASTIC! I love the water and I love to dance — IN the water! It’s a great workout! The Richmond Plunge is a great facility! Oscar is energetic and knows his Zumba moves! It’s a great way to spend an hour! I HIGHLY recommend it!

Aqua Zumba with Oscar is incredibly FUN FUN FUN! And when something is fun, it goes by really fast! What I love about Oscar’s Aqua Zumba classes is that he choreographs all the dancing moves so that they make sense in the water. That way, you are really using the water as resistance thus getting a killer workout without hurting yourself. Keep in mind that Aqua Zumba is a low-​impact cardio fitness class, which is a huge plus for me! Also, Oscar’s high energy is extremely contagious just like the music he plays! He leaves me wanting more Zumba! Not kidding! :) Last but not least, the facility where he teaches this class (The Richmond Plunge) is VERY pleasant and clean.

Aqua Zumba is awesome. I used to do regular Zumba before I got injured and became *very* inactive. My PT recommended swimming but I get so bored going back and forth in the lanes. I tried Oscar’s class today and had a great time. He’s funny, energetic and the class flew. The greatest thing about water exercise is that it seems so easy while you’re doing it but it oof do I feel the burn tonight! Highly recommend– a great deal for $ 10

I love Zumba and have been to many different classes in the East Bay as well as other places when I travel. However, there is none like Oscar’s — with original choreography, incredible energy and dramatic presentation– I can’t help but do it big when in his class. I have fun and always wish the hour would last longer– Zumba with Oscar– it aint exercise — it’s a party!

Oscar is truly one of the best dancers I know. He makes every class a good one. He has unlimited energy and enthusiasm. If you are thinking of trying Zumba classes you can’t go wrong with Oscar, he is fantastic!

I’ve been taking classes from Oscar for the last six months. He’s a GREAT instructor!!! The time goes by so fast, I forget I’m working out! But my jeans fit a lot better, and isn’t that kinda the point!
