History

Established in 2002.

Uni-​marble was originally located in San Francisco near the 280⁄101 interchange where it was founded in the early 1990’s. The company serviced the San Francisco area for over a decade until the current owner, Andre Baran took over the company and moved it to Richmond, Ca in 2002. We now work out of the Richmond facility where we have expanded operations and are able to serve the greater Bay Area and we routinely do projects from Half Moon Bay to Sausalito to Lafayette to Petaluma with projects pending as far north as Lake County. As our facility is streamlined toward fabrication and with out a large showroom or sales presence we are able to concentrate on what we love to do– produce the highest quality custom slab products for our clients!

Eli W.

Manager

Eli has been working in the natural stone industry for almost his entire life. He began his career working with his step father, Steve Gillman out of a small shop in West Oakland called Gillman Granite (founded in 1991). Eli later became partners with Steve in the business, together they completed hundreds of projects mainly in the East Bay Area. They ran the company together until 2009 when they both decided to pursue other interests. Eli came on board with Uni-​marble as a manager in March 2011 where he has quickly gained a reputation for great customer service, attention to detail and project follow through. Eli is the first contact for the company and is responsible for coordinating with clients, contractors, stone suppliers and everyone else involved in the project from start to finish.

After several fabrication estimates (some super low and one crazy high), I decided to go with Unimarble for the following reasons.
–moderately priced (definitely worth it)
–recommended by IRG slab owner (Amita)
–great Unilocal reviews
–pictures showed the type of intricate work they do
Now that my kitchen is completed, I am so glad I went with Uni marble. From start to finish, I felt very comfortable with the ordering of the slabs that I wanted, payment, scheduling and installation of my slabs. Eli was always accessible for any questions I had (boy did I have a ton) and Rafal was awesome with the entire installation process.
My husband and I asked a ton of questions on the installation and care of the quartzite and Rafal was patient and answered all of them. He even gave me pointers on how to do my own backsplash while he was working. Also, when Rafal came by to drop off my extra slab pieces, I asked him how to connect a few pieces of the stove top and he actually did it for me. Now that is awesome customer service.
I highly recommend this company. If you get a lower quote, really question whether you want to take the risk of your beautiful slabs getting fabricated and installed incorrectly. For my future projects, I will definitely be calling Uni Marble. BTW, do not confuse this Uni Marble with the one in San Jose. They are 2 different companies.

I had an exceptional experience with Uni Marble. I had ordered a cabinet top for a client of mine through a show room. It was delivered and was too small due to the saleswoman error at the show room. Eli at Uni Marble worked with us to get a different top made that would fit. He did an excellent job of helping us find a piece of material that would work and Uni Marble did a beautiful job on the new cabinet top. It fit perfectly and my client loves it. Thank you, Uni Marble and Eli for such great work!

I was impressed by the speed and diligence of Uni Marble in getting an estimate to me for a complex job. I called on Monday morning, emailed the drawings, and had a well considered estimate by the following day. Eli was a pleasure to work with.

Uni Marble just did a fabulous job on a challenging installation of granite countertops in my pantry: Asymmetrical U-​shape with walls on four sides, through the door, dodge the stacked washer/​dryer, maple paneling and no backsplash to hide the edges… you get the picture. Eli looked over the site, sent me to look at a slab of granite that matched the existing kitchen counters at a great price, and built a template. Unlike the high-​volume subcontractor for Home Depot, Uni Marble had the expertise to locate the seam in an inconspicuous location. Xavier and Enrique did the installation and were total professionals, paying attention to every detail. The seam is almost invisible. The bullnose edge is perfect. I recommend Uni Marble enthusiastically and without reservation.

I would highly recommend Uni Marble as a fabricator. Eli was super helpful with everything from guiding me to slab suppliers, helping me look for quality slabs, to getting me quotes and doing the templates. Everything was very professional and I felt like I got the best service hands down, from start to finish. They were very accommodating to every request I had. The installers were so professional and were very detailed oriented. I have a kitchen remodel for my next project and will no doubt be using Uni Marble. They did a good job and at a good price, however, they did not communicate well. I asked them on multiple occasions to save extra material for future use, verbally, and in writing, and they failed to do so. The finally replaced some of the materials they misplaced, but never came through on the second batch.
Also the owner who advised me on how to prepare a slab for an external table, later asked why I had done it the way I did. I said, I had followed his instructions exactly, and the table cracked. Not a big deal, but it shows again their poor communication skills.

Rafal was easily the best subcontractor we worked with on our kitchen remodel. He arranged the marble purchase from our stone garden, came out to measure and produced a beautiful product ahead of schedule at a very competitive price. We’ve only done one remodel, but if we did another, Rafal would be top of the list.

These guys were great. They fabriacted a number of countertops for us in granite, marble and Caesarstone for both our house and a rental apartment. They were on time, on budget, and the countertops look great. One of the vanity countertops was out of square, and instead of trying to tell us it was OK (like a lot of contractors would do), they immediately told me about the problem, took it back and fixed it. Really nice guys and they do excellent work. Highly recommended.

These people are totally awesome. They did a great job templating and installing my silestone countertops. They even gave me great referrals to tile companies for installation of my backsplashes. They absolutely know what they are doing. They show up on time and my job even ran ahead of schedule. Their workers were polite and efficient. Their price was BELOW Home Depot… But the best part is now to come…6 months after installation my husband was framing out a skylight and dropped a nail setter from his ladder… and you guessed it as it fell to the floor it hit the edge of the countertop and chipped it. He was sick! I called Eli and he was quick to schedule 2 guys to come out and take a look. They brought epoxy and mixed colors into it to match the silestone. They set the chip, buffed and I can’t even find where the boo-​boo was! I have never been so relieved and happy! And to think we might have just super-​glued! I am so glad we used Uni Marble. They really stood by us and their work. I can only imagine at how difficult it might have been to get Home Depot to take care of a chip!
