The woman who did my eyebrows (I believe the owner) was very friendly and welcoming, but these were the worst eyebrows I have ever had done. They were uneven and on one side it looked like the eyebrow was squiggling. I also had small bits of skin pulled out in several places. I politely paid the most I have ever paid for an eyebrow threading session and am now waiting to have them grown out again so I can get them fixed somewhere else! I am surprised by the number of very positive reviews, perhaps today was just not a good day for them!

I honestly love going to style by zahra for my eyebrows. i appreciate how much time and effort they take into making sure i walk out with wonderful, «on fleek,» shaped eyebrows. however, the last time i went i was super disappointed in them.
i made an appointment for my eyebrows and upper lip to be threaded. as usual, she started with my eyebrows then worked her way down to my upper lip. at one point she kept threading in the same spot on my upper lip which caused that one spot to be super irritated, later on and forming into some scabby burn. she also threaded underneath my lower lip when i specifically asked for just the upper lip to be done. the next day after, i sent an email to their «customer service» with a picture of my burn. a couple of days go by and i hear from no one. i finally called them the next business day they were open and told them all that occurred. the phone conversation ended with her suggesting that i come in AGAIN to have someone show me how to maintain my lower lip so i dont have to continuously keep up with it and to also show me how to «care» for the burn on my face. its been about a month since i’ve been back and my burn formed into an unwanted scar. as much as their praised and appreciated, this one thing will stop me from returning because of the thread burn and them not offering to do more than what they offered to do.

I went in for same day appt to have a full face threading service done. From the moment I called to the end of my service I felt very well taken care of. Everyone was so polite and warm. My face was handled with utmost care, first my face was waxed then threaded to ensure I received the finest results. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with this business and plan to return when in the are.

They are so professional on the phone about confirming appointments, and they are typically very flexible if I need to move my appointment time. I will remain a loyal customer here! I am very pleased with the shape and style of my eyebrows. They treat their customers very well.

This is what I love most about richmond, they are amazing ! The ambiance is nice and they have excellent customer service. I love how quickly the respond to their app and e-​mails and constantly giving updates about the salon. It’s awesome, I will never go anywhere else as long as I’m in richmond!

Not impressed. First, the wait time is long even with an appointment. Second, the job on my brows weren’t worth the price; they shaped very thin every time I go even though I ask not to do so. Last, the threading never lasts long.

Best place in Richmond area. I get the Brazilian wax with Barsha and it’s amazing. She always takes such good care of me. Also the people that work there are very nice. Recommended 100%.

Great prices (get the package deal), nice atmosphere, practically painless and very professional threading. I’ll certainly be back to keep using my eyebrow package and well with well shaped eyebrows everything looks better.
My technician Sajida was sweet, professional, listened to my requests and cared for my sensitive skin carefully.
I’m impressed and happy to fine a great threading location in Richmond! No pressure or hype from the employees either.

I met this girl at my job one day and she look like her eyebrows were drawn on. I ask how she draw on her eyebrows so perfect. She look and laugh at me and said, «you are silly, they aren’t drawn on I get my eyebrows threaded». My face was so amazed how perfect her eyebrows were. The same customer came in a week or 2 later and her eyebrows was still looking good and I ask her, «you just got your eyebrows done again». She said, «no this still the same from the last time you seen me». That convinced me to come to Style by Zahra and I don’t let any other place touch my eyebrows.

I’ve been coming to see Zhara for as long as I can remember :) Have nothing but the best best best to say for all her services, thru out the year! My eyebrows always look awesome every time they are serviced.

LOVE the threading!!! Communication can be a little difficult as the stylists are not always fluent in English… prices are GREAT and it’s a great atmosphere!!!

I’m very sorry that I have to go through so much at the front desk when I walk in. I’m sorry for myself and for the front desk staff. Front desk: what’s up with the huge display for jewelry that stands in the middle of the floor — sorry, tacky! When I go to Zahra, it’s because my regular person is unavailable. I have never understood the long sales speech — I stand there confused EVERY time — overkill. However, I did get a really good tech last time — my face was so lifted from the awesome arch she so carefully worked on each eye. Also, I pay $ 10 for eyebrow AND lip from a former Zahra technician. Thanks for being there when I need you though, I appreciate that!

I really used to love this place but after two years and two of my favorite technicians leaving, it is not as great as it used to be. I have yet to find someone I trust to consistently do an outstanding job — just satisfactory. Too many changes that were NOT an improvement to the eyebrow threading service changed this place from great to ok. It used to be a small, customer service based location. Now it is very «sales based» and missing the mark on customer service. The front counter is gaudy, too large/​tall and impersonal. The front desk staff can usually be annoying — name overkill and annoying personal questions are expected each time. There is /​was one lady who talks really loud and can be rude to the technicians during check out, like she has entitlement over them. I would love to bypass spending any time at that horrid front counter.
A threading session has gone up to $ 15 unless you purchase one of the buy ¾ get one free certificates when offered. Not every technician is equally skilled so if you are a walk-​in ask questions and then thoroughly explain what you want, if not you run the risk of having your brows «ruined.» None of the technicians are booked all day every day so walk-​ins are possible and recommended unless there is an upcoming holiday.

I like my stylist but they are extremely expensive. I found another salon that charges $ 10 for eyebrow threading, upper lips and chin wax — they charge 3x more over here — and when I asked why? The reason was that it’s because I came back after a long time to this salon (disregarding the fact that my brows were well maintained during that entire time I was away)…well based on how expensive this place is — I think I’ll continue going to my cheap salon place that does a great job as well.

What a wonderful establishment. I have been going here for the past 8+ years. I am always greeted with a warm welcome and smile from the front desk staff. They have pioneered the threading industry. I have seen many technicians and have always been beyond impressed! I always make and appointment, but I know there walk in service is fast and efficient. I can personally assure you will not regret trying any of Style by Zahra services! I always get tons of compliments on my eyebrows! Keep up the amazing job you are doing!

I’ve been going to Style by Zahra since 2004 consistently every 4 weeks to get my eyebrows threaded. Zahra and her staff are always professional. I recommend this place to all of my friends. The salon also does waxing and facials which are great as well. The only thing that I wish is that I could tip the technicians on my credit card because I never carry cash and I’m not writing a check for a tip.

I am a VCU student that lives downtown, but the fifteen minute drive to Zara is defiantly worth it. I don’t let anyone touch my eyebrows but there at least three people including the owner herself who I allow to do my eyebrows.
These women are very talented and professional. Each and every single employee in that shop is welcoming. They know how to build customers for life.
I would defiantly recommend this shop to anyone who wants a fierce eyebrow. Their hands are blessed by God himself.

Good threading outcome. I’ve been a customer for over a year and probably will continue, but the techs vary in quality greatly.
My most useful tip is to NOT make an appointment, but instead walk in. I made an appointment once and was 2 minutes late. I had to wait 45 minutes and got passed over by 3 walk ins before they saw me. By contrast, almost every time I walk in I wait for 5 min max and then am in the chair. Seems weird, but try walking in unless you can control traffic and ensure an on-​time arrival!

The most painful threading experience eer! pls dont waste your time and money here!

Every woman has a regular beauty routine: manicure/​pedicure, blowouts, Brazilian waxes, facials, etc. A few years ago, I discovered this gem during college and I have become a regular eyebrow threading client because of Style by Zahra. Threading is more pristine and pain-​free than plucking or waxing. My skin doesn’t get inflamed and I won’t have to fret about future wrinkles from waxing. The results are nothing like a threading mall kiosk treatment.
I’m moving back to the D.C. metro area, but I will miss Style by Zahra. I have been spoiled by their standards and I have yet found a salon that is as affordable as here ($ 12 + cash tip). I’ve probably been threaded by all of the ladies here and have no complaints. The salon accepts walk-​in and appointments and to make things better, it is now open on Sundays too!
