Very bland. Very little meat. Very little tomatoes. Very thin slice of cheese. Limited topping and dressing options.

I wasn’t expecting much from a $ 5 sub but this place knows their stuff. I had a big john which was roast beef, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. It was a plain looking sub but packed so much flavor. Their subs are so clean to eat I didn’t even use a napkin, which is something you can’t say about subway. Come here for a quick cheap bite to eat.

Check your delivery before the driver takes off. I called and placed an order for delivery. The driver forgot the chips. He said he’d have someone else bring the chips that evening. I told him that it wasn’t a big deal if they could credit it for my next order. I tipped him 50% anyway. I called and placed a second order the following week. Before the driver left I asked if the chips were in the bag and he assured me they were. I went inside and found no chips in the bag. I called and spoke to Michael, the manager on staff, he apologized and said the driver would return and I’d be refunded. In either case I tipped the driver 50% of the order. I gave the driver back the sandwich and asked for the tip back as well as my order charge. He told me he’d deposited all the money before he came back to my place(yeah right). I argued with him for a while and saw I was getting no where. I told him I’d write this review, to which he snakily responded«Be my guest.» Im still hungry and spent $ 4.50(tip) on nothing. Im not gonna sweat it. I will call corporate and let them know how this store operates.

iv been to their location once. there was no one there(on a Tuesday night) but the employees were super friendly. They had an awesome music selection going, i felt like was at a fun night club. The food was good and they even have cherry coke!:) As for delivery, I’m currently waiting on my first online delivery with them. so we’ll see how it goes. The online process was really easy and detail oriented and you could put the tip on your credit card which is really convenient. Ill definitely eat here again.

The food has always been good but the service is subpar. I recently placed an order for a delivery but the employee on the phone did not take my phone number even after I called back to give it to him. After calling back an hour later to inquire about my one sandwich, I was told that my order was coming. After another hour(thank god I had left over rice in my office) I called back and was told that the delivery guy didn’t have a phone number and didn’t bother to walk into my office building or approach our receptionist. Poor service!

Their delivery radius is ridiculously small. I live in the Fan(maybe 5 or 6 blocks from the restaurant) and they won’t deliver here. Awful company

I have recently discovered the deliciousness that is Jimmy John’s. I had a strong aversion to deli meat of any kind until JJ’s kindly delivered a small platter of complimentary sandwiches to my company. I was starving, so I tried one of the Vito sandwiches. Holy hell… delicious. I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I order from here 2 – 3 times a week at work now. I like to they don’t have a high minimum, so I don’t have to try and find anyone else to order with. You also have the choice of putting your tip on your credit card ahead of time when placing an online order, which is convenient — they can just drop it off with security and get on with their day and I don’t have to run down three flights of stairs and across the building in heels. The longest I’ve ever had to wait is 20 minutes — most of the time they get there within 10!

This sub shop is fantastic! I work right around the corner and almost every day I order from them. They deliver extremely fast, and the food is always delicious! On top of all that they know me by name and we have a great relationship. JIMMYJOHNSYOURULE

eh, i got the vito, my first experience with JJ. there was nothing amazing about it. what was irksome was the confusing delivery policy which was so confusing i had to drive and pick up the order myself. i was later informed by a work colleague that if i ordered online that would bypassed the issue. ah, oh well. also, for the size of the sandwich, you pay quite a bit. parking is also tight at this location. its right near an apartment building and you can get harassed even at 2am! so beware!

I’m the current Duke with two check-ins? Yikes. The staff are very friendly and the catering is always really awesome. More often than not, I’m in here buying things to cater meals for various events at my office. The«invisible barrier»(Belvedere Street) keeps me from crossing six lanes of traffic; I find more convenient options for lunch on Grove, Harrison, and Broad Streets. But when I do end up here for work, the wonderful smells envelop me… and I almost always buy a cookie or small sandwich — even if I brought one to work with me. The later at night it is, the better the food tastes. Triple chocolate cookie anyone? Damn! :-)

I went here for the first time yesterday since I needed something after a long study session at Cabell Library. This is the smallest Jimmy John’s that I’ve ever been to. The service here is really nice, kind of like the Jimmy John’s near my place. I remember reading a review about how rude the workers here were, but when I went here last night there were really nice and friendly. Probably those rude workers don’t work there anymore? I’m not sure. Great staff, and I was in and out of there within a matter of minutes. I will agree with one review that I read that said that the music was a bit loud. It doesn’t help that the place is small and that the sound just bounces off the walls here. But nonetheless, it’s great that VCU has a Jimmy John’s on its campus!

Definitely geared for the delivery service not the dine in service. The music is so loud you cannot hear yourself think or hear when your name is called. There are a bunch of bratty college kids running the place, which makes for slow and lack·a·dai·si·cal service. Call in delivery is the way to go.

My first Jimmy John’s sub! I went with the JJBLT which is just the basics with some mayo. Delivery was as they say«Freaky Fast». The bread of the sub was almost perfect. Crusty, slightly toasted flavor on outside and a soft yeasty inside. The bacon was good and crispy(I hate limpy bacon!) and the lettuce was fresh. It wasn’t dripping mayo everywhere thankfully. It’s terrible when they over do the mayo, even worse on those occasions that you’re watching them do this. Great sub, I’d order it again!

Great Sandwich. Ingredients were super fresh and service was great. Store is very clean and they deliver. It is amazing how fast they are at delivery. Always add the hot peppers, they are great.

My Jimmy John’s review: I’ll get right into it… The good: Prices: The cold cut subs are relatively cheap. The Gargantuan, their most expensive sub, has enough meat on it to feed two to three people easily and is less than $ 10. Delivery: Their deliery is lightening quick. The longest I had to wait for my food to be delivered was 22 minutes. The bad: Quality: There is nothing special about the subs they make. Most of the subs come with a ton of lettuce. They barely put any meat on the regular subs and the subs are average when it comes to taste. You truly get what you pay for. Nickel and Diming: In the event that you want extra meat, you have to pay extra money. Lets say that your sub comes with multiple meats(turkey, bacon and ham). If you want extra turkey, bacon and ham, you will have to pay an additional $ 1.50 for each meat. By the end of the day, additing extra things to an already skimpy sub might have you paying $ 10+ for a sufficient sandwich. Summary: Although the prices and delivery are ideal for a great restaurant, the quality of the food can only be overlooked if a customer is dying of hunger and is unable to wait for a better alternative. I love Jimmy John’s #6 vegetarian. The Jimmy John’s by VCU isn’t as good as the one near U of R(not sure why, maybe b/c they’re new) but I’m so happy they opened a location close to VCU. Limited delivery service though.

I’ve heard the commercials, but I’ve never been to a Jimmy John’s, and probably will never go again. This place is great for broke college students in a hurry and on a budget, but there’s really nothing special about the quality, taste or method of preparation with their food. The guy at the register was as cute as he could be, though and very helpful to me in making a selection since I’d never been.
