David’s Bridal

I was not into going to David’s Bridal for any of my wedding fashions. However, they did have some bridesmaid dress styles that I thought were worth taking a gander at. So gander, we did.
Poor things, I dragged my maids of honor around town last weekend to what seemed like every single bridal store in town to look for a bridesmaid dress. At first, the people at David’s Bridal told me that I had to make an appointment, so I made one. But we decided to walk in to see if we could take a peek at the dress that I had seen online. We walked into a mad house. Think: Walmart. Mind you, I don’t shop at Walmart for this reason. People everywhere. Disorganization. Cheap products. Just, no.
We quickly realized that we should have abided by my original plan to not shop there in the first place. There was no customer service at all. No fitting rooms. It was basically a free for all. I don’t think an appointment would have made it better either.
Ladies, if you’re going to come here on a weekend, just prepare for war.

4 stars since i have not yet received my dress– will update in February. This review is really for Monica– a bridal sales representative at David’s Bridal. She was on time, used my favorites list to pull additional dresses, and had a lot of patience. By far– my experience with her was the least overwhelming part of the wedding planning process, and she was knowledgeable, helpful, extremely patient, and above all– clearly really loves what she does. On top of that, she is very nice, and provided really excellent suggestions for customizing the dress to really make it mine. This process felt like I had a great friend helping me buy a dress– not a sales person. I absolutely loved Monica– she deserves all the credit for helping me find my perfect dress. Make an appointment with Monica today for your bridal or formal wear event! you will not be let down.

Yaz was a wonderful consultant– great for low key brides like me who are overwhelmed by big fuss. She was low pressure and very approachable. She helped me with the undergarments and gave great advice!

This review is based completely on the level of service I received from the manager of this location last night. I needed to exchange the dress I bought for my sister in law’s wedding for another style. Unfortunately that style was custom made in China and wouldn’t be in until November. The manager on duty was so patient with me as I tried on other styles and even walked my five year old to the bathroom when I was in the middle of trying on yet another dress. Her help made a difficult situation much better. I was very impressed with the kind and attentive service she provided.

Don’t even waste your time. I’ve gone in here on 3 occasions and all three times everything they said they had in stock, they didn’t. Customer service is absolutely terrible, rude and act like it’s an obligation to help you.
All three times I’ve came in were accessories related but I would never come here for my dress. Ladies, if I had problems for something small as accessories, spare yourself the headache and do not come here for a dress. The material on majority of the dresses felt very cheap and even the «higher end» dresses like Vera Wang and Oleg Cassini are still are not comparable to designer dresses that you can buy from a local boutique that have around the same price range with much better quality material (which also puts those nice designer gowns on clearance!). The local boutiques will treat you with much better customer service and give you that experience that you see on TV. Don’t expect that here, many of them look like they’re counting down to the end of their shift.
It also doesn’t help that this is the only location in Central Virginia, so there’s nothing to compare their crappy service to. It’s a real inconvenience that the next closest stores are in NOVA and the 757.
I made 3 mistakes before and since this last trip, I won’t be making the same mistake again.

Worst customer service ever!
The staff there is horrible… no help at all.
We had an appointment & we arrived 5 minutes early.
I took my daughter for her appointment & the rep was not helpful at all.
And on top of that she was busy with another bride-​to-​be. WTH?
We will not be returning to this store.

Rude, not helpful and incredibly snarky when I inquired if they had a certain style of dress. Left a terrible taste in my mouth and makes me not want to visit any more of thier stores for my upcoming wedding needs.

I am renewing my vows with my husband on the beach this year on my birthday. I went in for my scheduled appointment and got seen right away. I told them I wanted a flowing beach type gown and I had 3 dresses to try on. Not only were they perfect but they didn’t have the one I loved in my size. Or a I thought. She surprised me by finding one and bringing it to me. And got me the perfect veil to match!

This place is horrible. The customer service is scarier than the dresses.
My sister got there for her appointment at 11:30. She was acknowledged at 12:00. Only one other customer was in there.
The bridesmaids picked out a couple dresses and asked to try them on. They stated there was no fitting room available. They had more than 40 available fitting rooms. They put four, yes, four of us into ONE room. After we tried on the dresses, one of the employees came over and said her manager said we couldn’t try on anymore dresses because of the ‘special beading’ on them. I looked her straight in the eye and told her they were ugly and it looked like my 12 year old sister bedazzled them with her bedazzler gun so we were good.
At this point I wanted to leave but my sister was only in town for another day so wanted to stay. The rest of the visit got worse as they ignored my sister and said they needed to focus on the maid of honor they had there.
We left and will never return.

Having already purchased my wedding gown elsewhere, I went in to David’s with a friend to select a bridesmaids dress for her brother’s wedding and to browse mother of the bride dresses with my notoriously picky mother. We arrived early and were greeted by several salespeople even though the store was quite busy. We browsed the racks and mom found quite a few dresses to try on while we waited for our appointment time.
Our appointment ran pretty close to schedule and even though we shared our consultant with a few other customers, it did not take away from our experience. She was polite, personable, knowledgable, and efficient. She quickly found the bridesmaids dresses for my friend’s out of town wedding and made sure my mother had the sizes she needed.
The only thing I would change about this experience is the size of the dressing rooms. They are tiny and cramped when you are trying on a reasonably sized dress. I cannot imagine putting on a wedding gown in one.
Overall, my friend got her dress and my mother has some options for her MOB dress. The experience was pretty positive. We would definitely go back for wedding party shopping.
