History

Established in 1994.

Graham joined the British, Army Catering Corps at age 16 and served 16 years after his 2 year apprenticeship.

He started decorating cakes as a hobby for family and friends and became a master Chef Instructor in the British Army. Graham entered Cake Decoration competitions and won several Gold Medals. In 1989, he was selected to serve in an exchange program, training the American Army at Ft. Lee, Virginia. During this time, he selected and trained the US Army Culinary Arts Team and won a Gold Medal at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago. In 1991 he came out of the army and worked at two local Richmond Bakeries. Cakes by Graham was started in 1994. He enjoys creating unique, individually designed cakes and the personal interaction with each bride.

The business has grown in the past 20 years to where he has bought a building to house Richmond’s only custom cakery.
