All Tune & Brake

I have to give these guys a great review. We’ve taken both our cars in for service (We have a Nissan Xterra and Ford Escape). Both times the service has been honest, friendly, not pushy (thankfully) and financially realistic based on the problem.
We took our Xterra in b/​c it broke down on the side of the road. We recently moved to this side of the city and we decided to go here based on
reviews. It took 1.5 days for them to determine the problem. There was an issue with the fusebox sensor that made it difficult to identify what was actually wrong. Well, they identified it, fixed her up and only charged us for fixing the problem. She’s been running great for 2+ months.
This week we took out Ford Escape in for an inspection and oil change. The Escape is 10 years old with 90k miles and needed some TLC. There were some unexpected things that needed to be taken care of to pass inspection, but we weren’t too surprised given the age/​mileage.
The thing that surprised me was that our Escape, for years had this knocking sound that’s especially prevalent when driving over cobblestone (downtown). It literally sounded like my engine was going to fall out of my car at times. One mechanic we had in California couldn’t determine what the problem was. The other mechanic here in Richmond «fixed» it but not really. Well, of all the surprises I had this morning I drive into work and the knocking sound is gone.. I cannot believe my car is silent. No knocking sound. Just like that from some nice guys at All Tune & Brake. Thanks!
They also identified a few other things that needed to be taken care of (like I said she needs TLC). We turned down those services for now and the great thing is that they weren’t pushy and they didn’t make us us feel bad for not getting it done. They simply listed the service on the invoice with the price for if/​when we decide to come in and get it done.
They also sent us an email this morning to take an honest survey about their business. I’m in advertising so I appreciate things like this b/​c it means you want to improve your business/​service.

I purchased a Groupon for an oil change, tire rotation, and standard wiper blades. After the job, the man asked me for $ 20 and said I did not have standard wiper blades He said there should have been another page to the Groupon that said that. I
called Groupon and they said there was no other page. Fine if I did not have standard blades. He said they were over 24 inches but he did not have the right to choose another blade and charge me without asking. I would have said skip the blades. Groupon offered me credit to make up for the shops sneaky shenanigans and I plan to call the shop tomorrow. Very sneaky. I heard the man say that same thing to others but knowing what I had on my Groupon I did not think this was going to happen to me. I am hoping they make this right or I will go to Twelve on Your Side.
