After 30 years my husband will never use them again. At his last annual visit, my husband ordered partially rimless glasses and was told, after insurance he owed them this amount, which he paid. Imagine our surprise receiving a bill two months later saying he owed an additional amount. The bill also showed a charge from another optometrist, who my husband never saw. After 3 phone calls, 2 of which we were told the optometrist would call and explain the bill (no one called) and the third call with a lady in billing who had no clue, we paid the bill with the understanding our family will NEVER use their services again. We believe they made a mistake and rather admit it, ignored us. Too bad this is your legacy Dale.

Alright so my search for a VSP office brought me to HTVC. The professional level of service brings me and I hope you back. The eye doctor took his time to make sure my prescriptions were right. Great selection of glass frames… I got some cool ones with all the lense upgrades for less than what I would pay outside the office, because the VSP paid for the lenses and discount. The office was very helpful in understanding how to best use my benefits. Best wishes to you.

Only kinda wish they had a line of eye glasses that were more affordable. Even with insurance coverage, it was cheaper to go elsewhere and pay out of pocket. :-(

I love the Heaston & Thompson Vision Clinic! After moving away from the local area, every year I go back to the Tri-​Cities and always include my optometrist appointment! The doctors are fabulous and go the extra mile to ensure that quality care is provided. They will spend time with you to ensure that your questions are answered. Plus, the staff is always friendly and helpful, making each appointment a pleasant experience!

Great selection of frames for the whole family

I originally came to this clinic following a concussion. They provide evaluations for vision problems, and therapy to help resolve the problems. I had an eye which wasn’t tracking properly, and my brain was suppressing what that eye saw, so I was essentially seeing with one eye only. I have been extremely happy with both the initial evaluation I received from Dr. Liz, the therapy from Lauren, and the periodic evaluations from Dr. Liz during therapy. The therapy has improved my ability to read, move in space, perform close work without eye strain, and decrease the brain «fuzziness» I felt. Dr. Liz indicated that the therapy may take over a year to get the best results, but I’ll be graduating after abou 7 months!

Super Friendly staff and doctor. Family friendly, I brought my 4month old and everyone was so nice, patient and understanding. No wait time. Great selection of frames.

Very pleasant experience with my first eye
Exam. Thorough exam and state of the art equipment gave me great confidence that I was getting an exceptional eye exam. Very nice selection of glasses and the staff was all very outgoing, knowledgable and efficient! I highly recommend.

Unethical. I showed up for my appointment and told the lady behind the counter that I had a new job and new insurance. I gave her the details and she told me to have a seat. A short time later I was ushered into an office and then several others as my eyes were tested, etc. I ended up in the lobby picking out frames. I sat down with the clerk and she told me the price and she quoted over $ 900. I asked if that was after insurance? She said my file showed no insurance. I left. I went on to learn that the eye clinic I chose was one of the few in the community not a preferred provider for our insurance. I soon got an invoice for the exam — $ 184. I should have paid a $ 10 co-​pay, but because Heaston did not let me know that they were not covered by my insurance before examining me and charging me almost $ 200. Very unethical.

Dr. Liz examined my daughter and determined that she needed vision therapy. The therapy was expensive and not fun, however it made a world of difference for my daughter. Any time I hear about a child who is struggling to read I suggest Heaston & Thompson Vision Clinic to the parent, just to rule out vision issues.

This clinic came highly recommended by my friends. And since I was looking for a new eye place I decided to give them a try.
They were quick to get me back and get testing started and the doctor was friendly and helpful.
There were several things that have made it so I will not be coming back though.
First, they kept trying to get me to buy this Optimap thing for $ 30 (not covered by insurance). When I told them I wasn’t interested, they told me I would have to have that or my eyes dilated (and I was on my way to work) — that they dilate eyes for every general eye exam. (Never had that before…) So I had to pay for the optimap thing. Then, as I was leaving, I asked for a print out of my prescription so I could look at glasses online and the girl got upset and told me they don’t like giving them out that glasses ordered online are poor quality. And finally, the cost of the general exam was $ 232 (plus $ 30 for the Optimap)!! I didn’t buy glasses or contacts. I’ve never had a general exam cost more that $ 80.
Oh, and they don’t bill your secondary insurance, you’ll need to do that.

I wouldn’t even give this place a star if I didn’t have to. The staff here is rude and stuck up. I’ve had nothing but problems from the beginning… I’ve given them 2 chances to redeem themselves but its useless. The final straw is that I went there in October ’09 to get new $ 300 glasses and they didn’t bother to tell me I had a $ 22.00 balance from contacts I bought in February 09. well here it is almost a year later and I find out they sent me to collections. WOW. I called them to find out what the deal is and they had nothing but lame excuses… and to top it off they didn’t even apologize. Well I took care of the balance with the collection agency but they just lost a patient.

I went to them when I loived here. They were in middle of much change.
I got my original prescription and went for glasses. The glasses did nto work. We changed.
I spent quite a bit of time trying on frames and deciding. there were a few delays. all so nicely handled.
I moved by chance — the Pass closed behind me from Richland and I just stayed in Seattle. I forgot that I had left unfinished business with them. They didn’t and solved it so nicely.
I drive by at times these days on visits and recall the professionality and positivity.

I went here to get an eye exam and update my prescription (I need me some sunglasses!). I used google maps on my iPhone to find this place, and it was wrong: it gave their old location on George Washington Way. So, I called them up and they pointed me to their new location.
When checking in, they tried pushing «Optomap» (some sort of scan which looks at the back of your eye ball). It costs $ 30 out of pocket. They pushed it 3 times for me, but I said I was «awite».
A technician then walked me through three tests/​procedures. A couple of these were like video games – one even had you push a button on a wii-​controller-​esque device (this was a periphery test). Then there was my «favorite»: the eye poofer machine (poofs air into your eye balls) — I hate that thing!
I was then taken to another room and the optometrist tested my vision. Dr. Heaston was really cool and down-​to-​business-​like. She mentioned how if I needed to call in for any visionary needs, I can call ²⁴⁄₇. I then asked how many optometrists work here — it was something like 4 – 5, but what got me is that they’re all in the same family! Their grandpa opened the clinic, and now their dad, and several siblings are running the show. Cool.
Dr. Heaston gave me suggestions for things I should do to protect my eyes (position of the monitor, taking a break from looking at the screen, etc.).
We then went through an array of tests to see what my prescription was. It was pretty straightforward. When we were done, I checked out their glasses selection, but said I’d shop around first. I was given my prescription (good for 1-​year), paid the $ 15 copay, and was on my way.
All in all a good experience. They were able to fit me in for an appt within a week, and the new office is new and nice.
