H & M Appliance Service

Very disappointed. I had called them based on ad in Angie’s List. Made appointment and was told repairman would be out between 1−4pm. Stayed home from work to be available for repair work. At 4:15 called office and told them no repair had come and no one had even called to say he was running late… was put on hold and then told «oh, our repairman is running late he’ll be there in 15 minutes, tops!» Waited 45 minutes!!! Still no repairman and still no call. Called office again and was told «he’s on his way»…my house is 10 mins. (max) from their store! I said, forget it, I lost work staying home to accommodate his schedule and he had no respect for my schedule. Someone could have at least called to let me know repairman would be there shortly, he was running late… Very poor customer service.

Beware! Terrible service and unreliable! They didn’t show up for our scheduled appointment. We called and set up another appointment the next day and they didn’t show again! They did not call us with any reason and when we called, they said they would call back and didn’t. We called again and they said the tech was on his way and would call us. The tech finally called after our scheduled appointment window and said that there was no point in him coming because he couldn’t fix our microwave. He said the parts were no longer available and somehow diagnosed the problem without even coming to our home. The manager Natalie was not helpful and when we called to complain again that the tech wasn’t coming, we were told she was on a long distance phone call and would call back. She never called back so we called again and she left for the weekend without resolving anything. We called another appliance company. They came the next day, diagnosed the problem and fixed it on the spot.

LET THE BUYER BEWARE… Can I get a «half star» rating option because this would more accurately describe the quality of product and service at this location. I should’ve followed my gut instinct upon my first arrival, and of course, I should’ve considered the Unilocal reviews, but against my better judgement, my friend convinced me to give them a shot, given that the refrigerator that I ended up purchasing came with a 30 day store warranty. Also, there was the convenience of the close proximity to my home to consider. All minor points in the grand scheme.
Just to backtrack a bit, I visited twice before committing to the sale. The store is not well-​kept and carried an unpleasant stench, but again, perhaps a small nuisance given a stuffy environment with wall to wall used appliances that were only cleaned prior to delivery.
Natalie, perhaps the owner or co-​owner was dismissive at best, until a full cash payment was received in hand. Her customer service only seemed to improve at that point… Temporarily. We agreed on a same day delivery since it was so early in the day, but that was suddenly changed to a next day delivery, which never came. It finally arrived 4 days afterwards. No calls, apologies or scheduling.
The refrigerator seemed fine at first, except for the water connection that it was supposed to come with and the light that wasn’t working. I was promised that a technician would return to see to the concern. That never happened. (There must be something about the number 4 with them). Again, no call, apology or anything that resembles customer service. With every call I made came a renewed promise from Chris, my new point person.
During this time, the freezer started making a loud noise that periodically started then stopped. It was loud enough to disturb anything taking place on the area, including your concentration. I also noticed bugs from the appliance, where I didn’t have any prior to delivery. As was my new ritual, I called on my concern. Everyday the technician was scheduled to arrive within a 4 (there it is again) hour window. Nada. Which begs the question, what’s the point of an unenforceable warranty. I’m not sure what recourse I have at this point, but I definitely will seek one out.
Let the buyer be BEWARE… or heed Unilocal!Save yourself the grief. An extra $ 200-​$ 300 would be advisable.

BEWARE!!! If I could give a zero rating I would. Avoid this place at all costs. I am not going to post the details of my complaint as I will be taking them to small claims to get the money back if Natalie does not resolve our complaint. Not only was there lie after lie, no return phone calls, misquoted prices, but when the appliance was finally delivered back after them having it for 6 months (a major needed appliance I might add) they had not done what they promised, parts were not returned with the appliance, the appliance did not work correctly and, after having another professional look at the parts h&m said they replaced turns out they never replaced them and charged $ 450 just for that part. Stay away from this company, they should be put out of business by the consumer department and BBB. If you read this Natalie you should be ashamed of yourself for preying on elderly people, taking their Social security savings and thinking that you are an honest business woman.

I will never do business with these people again. I was forced to because this is the place that my landlord made us use. Needed my washing machine fixed the draining valve wasn’t working. They gave us a 3 hour window to wait. Waited all day for this guy and he shows up over an hour late and stays for 30 seconds. Says he knows what is wrong and will get the parts and be back the next day to fix it. I’ve been waiting 4 days. The lady who answers the phone is horrible. She was supposed to call me back 6 different times and never called back once. I had to call about 30 times during these 4 days. Now the day has come when they are supposed to be here to fix the washer. They were supposed to come yesterday but didn’t. So I was told I would be first priority and it would be done in the morning. Call around 11 and they say oh he’ll Be there between 2 – 5. I have wasted so many days on these people. I am an RN and do not have time to waste like this. I would never go back to these people.

My girlfriend bought a brand new refrigerator from this place and 3 days later it took a dump. When we called to get it replaced they told us that we have to go to the manufacturer. Really? That’s so disgusting. This is why I started using Unilocal because I heard this was a good place to leave a review and check reviews. .I really wish I would have seen their Unilocal page before we went in there. it speaks volumes.
Bottom line, we have a refrigerator that’s a pos and was DOA. And they acted like we did something wrong. Not only did the fridge go bad but so did our food. They should be responsible for that as well. But we’re not even asking for that. just for a working fridge. .is that to much to ask for?
They deserve to be shut down for their foul business practices. If you’re planning on going there. DO NOT. You’re going to wish you listened to me if you do.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. We scheduled a service call for a Monday. They said they arrive between 11 and 2. Nothing. We called. Were told he would arrive by 5. NOTHING. We rescheduled — I am not sure why. They finally showed up and we were told it would be around $ 250 to repair our washer. We called back to schedule the repair. We were told they would call us back. One hour goes by. Two hours. We called them back. No news, they will call us back. Three days later they called to say they can’t find the part. They can’t fix the machine. Completely irresponsible business practices. Doesn’t seem like they want any business at all. COMPLETE waste of time.

Jorge was great! Came out for a service repair, made sure to find out what the cause was regarding my washer, explained everything in detail to me and how it works! Thank you Jorge for your quick and efficient service! –Vanessa

I was told a repair man would come to fix my dishwasher sometime between 11am and 1pm today. It’s 5:05pm now and no sign of the repair man. I have called multiple times and was told each time that he is on his way. I guess he is coming from 5+ hours away.
He arrived before I finished my review. It is now 5:17 and he is already gone. Dishwasher is still broken, and I am out $ 30 and a whole day’s worth of my time.
We will most definitely be finding an alternative appliance repair service for any and all subsequent needs (and probably to get our dishwasher fixed, since it hasn’t been yet)

Avoid these guys. They don’t listen and will waste your time.
What kind of service shows up late and doesn’t actually fix the issue? How about trying to listen to the customer instead of speaking to them with a condescending tone.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME The customer service or lack thereof doesn’t rate a quarter star rating. I called to schedule appointment. That was the only part that went well. When the serviceman failed to show, I called. The indifference was shocking. When I asked if he can check the status of their employee, I was told that calling would be an interruption that could delay the serviceman further. Well, no need to worry because the guy never showed.

I bought a dryer from them and i had bad luck with my dryer it didn’t work they came back the following day the driver and his pet were excellent took care of the problem and got me a better dryer at no extra cost great service fair prices

AVOID SELLING YOUR THINGS TO THESE PEOPLE!
To begin I had a washer and dryer to sell, I called up the business and spoke to their owner, she told me to send a photo email of the machines and they would call me back. In the email along with the picture I sent I told them that the washer had a leak in it. I received a call back and an offer for 60 for both machines with same day pickup. I accepted the offer and they called me for a pickup. I told them that there was traffic and upon getting there they were a no show, I called them up and apparently they no longer wanted it anymore. So after calling up the owner she said that they have over stock in inventory then the next day offered me 50 for both instead. This business was just an unprofessional insulting bag of rocks to work with. I would take your goods and sell else where. Really wished I can give them zero stars but Unilocal only allows for one.

My boyfriend and I came in today looking to buy a used refrigerator for our apartment.
Someone recommended H&M appliances so we decided to go look.
The store is obviously older and has been there a while, which seemed cool
However, all of their used refrigerators smelled strongly of mildew and the freezer in one of the fridges had a huge clump of mold inside of it.
The most revolting part, however, was that there were bugs crawling inside their used fridges. I’m not a squeamish person but seeing a roach scuttling across a refrigerator that smells like mildew was way more than I can handle

2 for 2 — in not showing up!
I wish I had read these reviews and saved a lot of wasted time. Technician never showed, called the store the next morning and they said within the hour. 3 hours later and 2 calls to the store later and several promises that we were next, never showed. The store told us they would try again on a 3^rd day — why so we can waste more time waiting for their technician? Never calling again!

I guess everyone has had the same experience. ILL RECOMMEND THEM TO ANY ONE. .NOT EVEN MY WORST ENEMY. I was very very patient… but the lady who answers the phone was beyond rude, knew nothing about status or prices… then got a call from someone else with excuse after excuse. No answers when i left messages, got a call from the owner who explained that there must had been a language barrier between the receptionist and I, because she’s not American. And she doesn’t know anything about appliances. Not somebody I would recommend to be the representation of my company, nor what I expect the owner of my company to explain me that way to a customer if I was her receptionist. Not a great experience… still haven’t heard back about some questions I had once my appliances was finally returned to me a week after they said it would be.

I must say I am also surprised with all of the extremely negative reviews for H&M appliances, i have grown up in the area and would think that since they have been in business for so long, that they would be running a better business. (NEW OWNERSHIP??) I did not look this business up before I booked a service appointment or i would have taken my business somewhere else. After the treatment and service i have received the last TWO WEEKS… I’M VERY SORRY I USED THEM. They are VERY disorganized, and have HORRIBLE customer service, they person who answers the phone should be the best person to represent their company… SHE WAS THE WORST!!!
I booked and appointment for a Tuesday and they called me on Monday to tell me the tech was on his way… i told them my appointment isn’t till tomorrow, and they said we had an opening so we sent him!!! When he got here we was pleasant, he gave me a GUESSTAMATION on the repair cost, AFTER HE LEFT, THEY OFFICE CALLED TO TELL ME THE TECH WAS IN HIS WAY, HE GOT HELD UP AT ANOTHER JOB!!! LOL… i then never received a call to tell me what the final cost would be!!! They fixed my applianance with out payment approval, and the receptionist didnt have any paperwork to tell me what the cost was, she would call me back (YEAH RIGHT) i was told that the unit would be returned to me lastest Friday (They Picked up the Appliance on Monday)…i called them ON FRIDAY, SATURDAY, MONDAY, TUESDAY… NEVER RECEIVED A RETURN CALL… i have been calling for 5 days to get the status on the cost (imagine my surprise to find out they fix it and i never even knew if it was $ 20– $ 1000) they tried to deliver it to me on Wed and Thur. but i received a call every day telling me some excuse on why it wouldn’t be that day. THE RECEPTIONIST IS RUDE, AND UNPROFESSIONAL. IF IT WASNT FOR THE OWNER SPEAKING TO ME THEY WOULD HAVE ONE STAR… THE OTHER POSTERS ARE CORRECT THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL AT ««IM SORRY»

Terrible customer service, save yourself the frustration and call someone else.
They are really good at say «I’m sorry» probably because that get so much practice! Appointment times don’t mean anything thing to them and they have the attitude that we should be thankful they are coming at all.

I chose to call this company based on their advertisement in The Home Mag.
I called on Thursday explaining that I needed my garbage disposal repaired. A service call was arranged for Saturday 11am-​1pm. When at 1 pm today, Saturday, I hadn’t heard from anyone, I called in to find out. I was told they were very short handed and busy so someone would call me back. I eventually received a call from their tech who told me they don’t repair garbage disposals! I insisted to speak with the owner who called me after some time and he also explained that they don’t repair garbage disposals. When I asked why I wasn’t told this when I made the service call appointment, he told me that «the girls who schedule service calls don’t know anything about appliances»!

Unfortunately, you’re not allowed to give ZERO stars.
The delivery men just left, and after arriving an hour late with a horrible attitude and without a dolly to get the stove through the door, my sister expressed her upset at their performance.
Their response? The delivery man told her, «Don’t f*** with me. I will be back. You don’t know me!»
UNBELIEVABLE. Beware of these creeps and never work with these people.
