The buffet has been remodeled. Food is great and employees treat the customers the right way!

Took my mommy here for her birthday which fell on Father’s Day! To be expected the lines were VERY long but that is also a good sign that the food just might be good. Professionalism was definitely noticed here regarding crowd management. Restaurant was kept clean, food promptly refilled and lines moved in a breeze. Each station was very well presented and the food to die for!!! Seafood station was the best! Came during brunch so a nice mix of your standard breakfast items as well as lunch. I will be back!!!

Fantastic buffet. Been coming here for 20 years. Even before the redecorating. I would put on a more reliable staff because the youngings don’t seem to move too quickly or realize they are even working. but fantastic. keep on peeling

Nice place, and food looks good… However, we were asked to LEAVE or pay their dinner price before 4:30pm. Here’s what happened: — Went in at 2:29pm(as receipt confirms) — Were seated and eating appetizers by 3:00pm — By 3:30pm they remove all their food to prepare for for dinner. — Floor manager, Greg Mccleary, asked us to rush and leave, or he would charge us for dinner. Wow… first time something like this happens to me. I politely asked him and his supervisor to let us stay or give us a refund… both requests were denied. Horrible business practice. They should notify customers about this«rule»… maybe they should even put it on the receipt. Will never come back here.

Came here before picking up my precious Siamese rag doll from a foster mom in Reno. If you get the players card you get an addtl 20% off on weekdays !!! So only $ 14 for an awesome and delicious meal with tons of options to choose from. The meat. /bbq selection here is so good, I mean it’s comparable to Vegas bacchanal at ceasars. They had perfectly cooked prime rib, homey pork belly, slow roasted pork belly, slow roasted melt in your mouth prime rib, and Chinese style chashu. 4 stars just for that! They had a great Mexican selection with Spanish rice, tamales, the Mexican some beef soup, spicy Mexican short ribs, etc. The phở here was bomb !! It tasted like real phở, not too salty and the jalapeños were so spicy and had a nice crunch. The dessert section is a bit lacking, the ice cream was icey and not creamy at all. I couldn’t finish my ice cream, and opted for some cotton candy instead. This is great option if you are in Reno /Taho and are looking for an affordable buffet. I would definitely come here again.

Overall good food… The prime rib was good but not great. Crab Legs were very good, phở was yumm, dessert selection was really great and I don’t normally go for dessert! This buffet had an excellent selection of food for a Sunday night! I didn’t get to try it all, but what I did try was good. One note about strawberries on a stick. If you want them dipped in chocolate don’t pick then up. They have to get them for you, even though they are out to grab raw. Just fyi. overall I highly Recommend. Brought my mom, bf, kids(9&19) and we all loved it. :)

This has got to be my new favorite buffet in town. Yes, it is a little bit more expensive than some of the others in town, but they more than make up for it. The quality of the food is spot on and there is something for everyone. Yes, even you finicky eaters, you vegetarians, and gluten-free folks. It has been revamped recently with new chef and many new dishes. I have been here a couple times, once for Sunday brunch and once during a week night. Sunday brunch does include the choice of two different mimosas(one pink and one standard). I really liked the pink mimosas. For you seafood lovers, they do offer oysters on the half shell with the Sunday brunch! big bonus for my husband. The deserts leave nothing wanting. They have house made gelato, cakes, pies, cookies, soft serve, cobbler, bread pudding, and an all time favorite Cotton Candy! Be prepared for a line to get in, as this is a popular place to eat, especially when there is an event going on next door at the convention center Military discount is offered, but no local discount.

As it goes… the new & improved Toucan Charlie’s Buffet is dang near close to a high-end Vegas all-you-can-eat venue! Flying into Reno/Carson City for work, I kept seeing ads for the Atlantis Casinos updated Toucan Charlie’s Buffet. I must have seen at least 3 of them on my way to the rental car. Got me thinking, I’m free on nights… why not give it a go? Got to the buffet on a Thursday night. Even on a rainy evening the casino was packed to the gills! Folks everywhere! The buffet line for Toucan Charlie’s was no exception. Took a good 20 minutes to get thru the line to the front. No biggie, I can wait! The price is a bit steep, especially if you’re not used to a large scale higher-end buffet. Regular price for dinner on a weeknight is $ 15.99 M-W. On Thursday it’s prime rib night so it goes up to $ 24.99 per person. Not cheap! But luckily the higher price does reflect some quality vittles! Dinner time… let’s eat up! Toucan Charlie’s didn’t disappoint! Much of the offerings were tasty! Great quality food! Lots of variety! Prime rib was tender & juicy with cuts as big as you want! Even had smoked pastrami on the menu as well! I’ll sum it up in the best things I remember about Toucan Charlie’s: *Vietnamese phở station *Mongolian BBQ station *Delicious Osso Bucco *Full charcuterie trays stocked with meats & cheeses *Made-to-order salads Quality of the food on the buffet line was good as well, didn’t seem like it sat on the line too long to risk overcooking. Even after all this buffet-ery, I had room for some of their desserts! Great gelato! Biggest surprise? Friggin’ COTTONCANDY! What a sweet treat! Ate like a king and left Toucan Charlie’s stuffed like a turkey. Pretty worth it for the price of admission. Next time I’m in town for work, I’ll be back again for sure! #yummyinmytummy

Amazing Buffet! Great remodel! I asked to talk to the chef and Chef Clay came to the table. How amazing is it to request to talk to a chef at a buffet and have the actual chef come to the table? Right? Either way. The remodel is great and the upgrades to the buffet are great! Many new choices. If you haven’t been in since the remodel… give it a try. Truly the best buffet in Reno!

Awesome 5 stars Mother’s Day Buffet. Prime rib extremely tender, flavorful. Rack of Lambs literally melts in your mouth. Carne Asada tasted tender like tenderloin but with flavor texture if Rib eye. God. So well marinated. Easily best in class. Asian crab legs. You will kill for these. Don’t know how so much flavor gotten infused in its Fluffy Puffy from the sea meats. Stunning. Char Sil Bow supprised me. Not to be missed. I loved their scallops. Gots to Confess. The Carne Asada was so delicious I went back for 2nds. 3rds now pending. Normally I would have Gotten Great Prime Ribs for 3rd, 4th. But the ALLURE of the Carne Asada was too STRONG. Even over their Asian Crab Legs. Just How good was this Buffet. Lets just say I was very disappointed with my last visit to the Wicked Spoon by comparison. In Las Vegas Unilocal Foodies LETSBACKALLTHISUP… More…

From one star to five. Wow! We wanted to check out the buffet earlier, but the lines were always huge. Today, midweek on Wednesday we decided to finally give it a try again. Fortunately for us, it was no line, and we got seated right away. The buffet looks beautiful and modern, very clean and much more open then before. The décor is fabulous. What’s most important though is the food. They have upgraded the food quality! The prime rib and mash were out of this world. We couldn’t stop going back for more. And the dessert station is awesome. We had at least 14 scoops of gelato each. It was so good and fresh. Overall an abundance of food. I think we just ate 2 percent out of 100 percent of their offerings. We will be definitely back to try more variety of their grub in the near future. There is a slight increase in the price, but in my opinion the new design and better quality of food justifies it. We thought we were not going to go there ever again(see the previous review), but they won us back, and we are happy they did!

The place has been completely remodeled and the prices have gone up. It’s more of a Vegas style and décor. They added a phở station. And everything is listing overhead so you know where to get the food you want such Seafood, Meats, Salads, Desserts, etc. I still like coming here when I’m in town. Come early for Sunday Brunch the line gets really long.

I went here twice, once on Sunday brunch(4 – 3) and then again on Monday(4 – 4) morning. I am not much for lines, usually avoid them, but my parents were visiting and this buffet has always been a family event for many years. They were getting in after 12PM, and if you have ever been to Atlantis, it’s a line that goes for days. I got in line at 12:45PM, and then my family met me about 15 minutes later. We waited a good 1 hour plus after they arrived. We got seated at table for 5, and the place feels like a zoo, it’s just absolutely nuts in the place. The remodel looks nice, I don’t know about millions of dollars nicer, but it needed an update, I just think they could of spent the money more wisely, as some of the touches, just don’t feel necessary. The table we sat at was too small for 5 people. I literally had to have my silverware rest on my chair. I had to take our dishes and put them on other tables when complete. It was not a great experience for dining to say the least. The food was close to what I remember, the crab legs were not very good this day, I could never crack the crab and just enjoy the meat, I had to constantly use my fork to split them open and then scrape out scraps. I usually would have 3 plates for this, 1 plate to eat from, 1 for the crab legs, and 1 for the shells. As I mentioned this table was very small, so I only had two plates, and it was uncomfortable eating the meat right next to the legs, and then the crab just being difficult, I didn’t get my usual crab fix that I have had for so many years! =( I really enjoyed the carving station, they dressed it up quite a bit, but they were not properly staffed, had to wait some time for someone to come over. I only saw two people in the whole area, so not sure why that was on a busy day, that actually felt like a Holiday it was so busy. The meats I got there were delicious though! I tried the Phở too, it was okay as well, not mind blowing great, but definitely cool and something I would 100% have again! Last the desert station wasn’t properly staffed either, there was 1 lady doing hand dipped chocolate, and another doing god knows what, finally after about 7 minutes of ignoring me, she comes over to the gelato station, gives me 1 baby scoop and is ready to shoo me away. I asked for another scoop, which she didn’t seem too happy to comply but gave me another baby scoop. I think if you spend millions of dollars, you definitely shouldn’t be lacking any necessary staffing for a 5 star experience! Overall, my experience on Sunday was just okay, 3 stars, and I wouldn’t wait 1:15 minutes plus again just to dine there again. My 4 stars actually comes from the next day. My parent’s got a senior discount, I think it was 50% for Monday mornings, not sure if all morning or certain times, but we ate again due to this reason alone. This was much better, I got my favorite server(E), and they had quite a bit of dishes for breakfast that I wasn’t expecting like smoked ham and pastrami in the new carving station. If you have had breakfast here, you know they have the omelette master back there. This guy is a mad pro at omelette mastery! I even got 2 very great pancakes! I really enjoyed our breakfast and it was 5 stars all the way! I decided to split the 3 and 5 stars and make it 4 for now. If you can catch any deals here and or avoid the line it’s my favorite buffet in Reno for breakfast and lunch!

I’ll preface this review by saying I’m generally not a fan of buffets but decided to eat here since I saw that it was renovated on the RenoTahoe snapchat account and I was nearby with the girlfriend for dinner. Overall, this buffet can be summed up by: a huge variety of mediocre food. It was $ 25 per person for dinner. Getting in and seated was quick then the girlfriend and I were off to tour what we wanted. We did three trips taking small amounts of each cuisine(seafood, Mongolian BBQ, Mexican, and more), this was followed by dessert. I do appreciate how there are some made-to-order stations so it’s not 100% serving from pre-prepared trays of food. A couple grievances: not all of the foods and sides were labeled so there was some guessing involved, and when they wipe down the tables they don’t use any disinfectant; going back for 2nds you’re forced to leave your silverware on the bare table. After eating here, I’ll say it wasn’t a bad option for what we were looking for(convenient food with variety) but I don’t see myself coming back as I’d prefer to spend $ 25 on local restaurants that have really good entrees.

I’d like to say the Atlantis did a fantastic job remodeling Toucan Charlie’s Buffet. Today we were here for the monthly UYE Monthly Breakfast Club. I love joining this monthly group… great group of people… thanks Robert S for taking the time to make these monthly arrangements. We did miss Ly and Kiwi today. Everything was so new and fresh and clean. The staff was especially attentive and friendly. Was nice to have the Chef come out and explain some of the changes. We went for a breakfast buffet… so that’s what I had. Egg over easy, made to order, hash, bacon and fresh fruit. Of course, I couldn’t not have at least one cream puff… it was yummy. Everything was good and I would definitely do breakfast again… as long as you come early and there a no lines. Don’t like waiting in line for my food. Generally don’t do buffets. Most buffets simply cannot keep the food hot without drying out and just doesn’t taste as good as food being served to you. Yet, you find yourself overeating anyway. Guess I’m a bit fussy about eating out… I cooked enough over the years, and when I go out, I want to be waited on. But, if you’re a buffet person, definitely give it a try… lots of varieties.

WOW!!! This place is awesome. While standing in line the smells creep up on you. As the line snakes you to the register is moves very swiftly. There are plenty of cashers. Paid, sat and drinks in no time. Now walk around and see what they offer. Grab a plate and there is the meats, yes meats station. They have hot pastrami, pork belly, ham, Italian sausage and I forgot what else. Pizza and ribs and so much more. That’s just one station. On the other side they offer fried shrimp, baked potatoes, clams and mashed potatoes. Yum! Walk down there are salads, shrimp, fresh fruit and more. There is Mexican food. Taco’s, quesadillas, enchiladas, nacho’s and fajitas. They have Phở bar. Pasta bar and Far East food. This is all topped off with AMAZING desserts. They did it up right this time. It’s all very open and well lit. The staff is all very friendly. The servers had the drinks refilled at about 2 sips. Great job Atlantis we will be back soon.

What buffet takes reservations? This one does! Let’s start off with the basics. 29.99 for a Friday night buffet that serves prime rib and seafood. Prime rib is carved daily and seafood is only in selected nights. Cut off for children is 10 years old. We had a party of 15 and arrived promptly at 6:30. We got our payment situated and was seated right away. We had a reservation for 15, but when they sat us, there was only 13 chairs. So we asked if we could grab two more chairs and they decided to switch us to a table next to us that sat 9 and a booth. We were going back and forth for a bit, and finally we sat down. Was a little irritated that we had a reservation and they couldn’t set the table correctly. Other than that hiccup, the service was prompt. Server grabbed our drinks and we dig right in. Where did I head first? The seafood. Cold crab legs were great. Not salty at all. They had Mexican, Chinese, seafood, meat, and desserts. Chinese spicy clams were amazing. I couldn’t help but grab them every time I got a new plate. Things that were delicious, in which you should try too. Lobster ravioli, raw oyster, prime rib, scallop and shrimp in the shell, and dessert. Crème brûlée and cheesecake. 15% gratuity is included into parties 6 or more. Food was great, but that service was eh.

Lots of buffets to chose from in the Reno area, so when we were scanning Unilocal for buffets, The Atalantis’ Toucan came out on top. Ratings are likely high because… 1. Clean. — floors and plate and buffet areas cleaned regularly 2. Variety — Carving station, Asian foods, Mexican, and Mongolian BBQ with salad bars and a nice dessert assortment. 3. Service — drink servers was surprisingly helpful and continually replenished drinks and took plates. Food quality was good for lunch but not extraordinary compared to the other buffets. A unique spicy shredded beef dish called«Birria» was the hit in the Hispanic food area and was tasty and flavorful as was the fried shrimp and the cheesecakes. Prime Rib was a bit overcooked for my taste. See tip below. Tip — go for lunch, less crowds and still a good variety of foods. Pro Tip — For the buffet Prime Rib experience possible. Go to the Mongolian BBQ with a bowl of raw Mushrooms, Onions, and Garlic and have it stir fried with Au Jus and and plop the whole thing over your fresh cur Prime Rib. So Good!
