The Spa At Siena

For the price, I wasn’t sure what to expect. They are much cheaper than some of the other casinos. But, to save a little bit of cash on a couples massage, I made a call. They were able to get me in the same day. They have complimentary wine and sliced fruit in their «serenity room» and, at least with the couples massage you get a complimentary glass of the bubbly. The two massage therapists that worked on me and my fiancée were both trained at Ralston Massage, which is a huge plus since I have a good amount of faith in those folks. The price, the quality, and the proximity to mid town will most likely bring me back here (especially during snowboard season).

The spa treatments were very nice but the business side of this place is absolutely horrific!!! They doubled charged my card for the amount of the tip then basically told me tough luck I had to call my bank and put a fraud alert on my account against this place!!! Never will I ever go here again NOR will I ever recommend this place to any either!

The best message… thanks to Heather! She has just the right amount of pressure and always finds the knots! The spa is very clean and relaxing. A nice glass of wine and fruit is always offered at the beginning and the end of your services, which is a nice touch. I also had a pedicure my first visit at the spa and it was just as good as my massage! The ladies are all very friendly and very professional. This is my third time at the spa and many more in my future there will be! Plus the price is the best in Reno!!! An hour massage is only $ 69.00 and an 80 min is $ 99.00. A 55 min pedi is $ 49.00. Had a great spa day here. Was given a gift certificate for Christmas and just used it today. Everyone was friendly and knew their service well. Got a facial, a massage and blue toes pedicure. Am very happy with their service today.

Just had a facial at the spa… couldn’t be happier! Janine (Jeanine? Don’t remember the spelling) was great. She was super attentive and really made me feel important. I’d definitely go back! Great value for the service as well.

When I got into the room the esthetician asked me what type of skin I have. She did not look to make her own assessment. I wanted a Glycolic facial (I have had many glycolic peels before, never had any problems.) I told the esthetician my face was burning, mainly around my mouth. In stead of doing extractions she wanted to «burn off» my imperfections. She burnt my face so bad I have blisters and scabs all over my face. and I am hopeful it won’t scar.
I had to come to work with my face looking like I was drug behind a car on the pavement. They were apologetic, but nothing they can do to make my face heal nor did they offer any type of refund. I have never had anything like this happen, and I am really disappointed what I have gone through — all for a $ 100 facial. I paid for my face to be ruined! It hurts so bad to talk, smile and eat. I can’t sleep. It is so uncomfortable I wish I had never gone there.
P. S. we had to use a service elevator to get to the spa, it is not a high end spa

Please update the times that you are open and closed. I just talked to the hotel after calling the spa over and over trying to book a couples massage. I was informed that the spa is closed Monday through Wednesday and that I wouldn’t even be able to book a massage till Thursday. We are checking in Saturday and leaving Monday… would’ve been nice to know the hours you are open…

Me and best friend called ahead and made appointments for the special they were having for an 80 minute massage and 50 minute pedicure for $ 160. We paid when we first got there the receptionist told us we got 25% off because we had our player cards and so she ended up charging us $ 120. The spa itself was nice, there were multiple rooms and the atmosphere was nice and calming. They had us put on robes and sit in the waiting area where they had water, wine and fruit. First I had my massage done, which was really nice. It was a mix of Swedish and hot stone. Now on to the pedicures, my best friend had gotten pedicures there before and wasn’t very happy with them but the receptionist assured her that they got new people and that it was better. It wasn’t. First off, they didn’t have very many polish choices. The lady who did our pedicures was really nice but I get better pedicures done at my normal nail shop and my best friend somehow got her foot cut when she was pushing back her cuticles. Even though we weren’t extremely happy with our pedicures, we still had a good time… until we were walking out. The receptionist informed us on the way out that we were charged the wrong amount. Apparently the $ 160 «included» the discount so she asked us to pay the remaining $ 40! We were so upset. We didn’t feel like making a scene so we just paid but we will never go back again.

I thought this place was okay, but felt the people looked board. Unfortunately there was not a lot of people when I was there gambling and the tables the people looked at me funny :(Anyways I did not stay here, but just looked around the casino area and looked at the odds for spots, but I rather go to the Grand Sierra Resort to do all of my gambling

It would appear may of the reviews of this location are rather old. I was in this spa over this past weekend, while they were celebrating the one-​year anniversary of their «renovation».
From the time that I called and scheduled a last-​minute appointment, to the moment I walked out of the «Serenity Room», this was a great experience.
Every person that I spoke to, or worked with, was very professional and pleasant. The atmosphere was very calming, and even the facility was beautiful!
I had a 50-​minute massage, and it was worth EVERY MINUTE. In fact, my twin sister (who doesn’t normally get massages) even said she would be willing to come back.
While many of these reviews are negative to moderate, I encourage you to try it out since the remodel… and maybe give it another shot.

We used to go to the Siena before it closed down 2 or 3 times a year. When it re-​opened we waited several months so they could get the bugs worked out before going again. I think we should have waited several years. We got a room on the top floor for $ 200 a night. We arrived at 5 minutes before check in time and were the only ones there. We had to wait 10 minutes to get checked in as the clerk was talking to an old lady that was lost. The clerk said our room was not ready and she was going to put us in a room in a lower floor. We had ordered a room on the top floor and this was Tuesday so I asked her how long until our room was ready. Ten minutes later our original room somehow became ready. What a bad first impression, but wait it got worse.
When we got off the evevator there were some guys working on caulking something next to the elevator that made the area stink like turpentine. The room we had was new and I liked the remodel, but my wife did not. I could not get enough hot water for a shower the whole three days we were there even though I complained the first day to the front desk. We were there midweek and the whole place was deader than a funeral parlor. There was only 1 other room occupied on the ninth floor while we were there. There was no soda machine on our floor and when I went down to the gift shop and they did not have any, they suggested that I go to the bar in the casino and order a soda. Are you kidding, it can’t be that hard to get a soda? I found out from the front desk that there is a soda machine on the 8^th floor. When I got off the elavator on the 8^th floor the whole floor was being re-​modeled with plastic sheeting over the soda machines.
The «good» restaurant Da Vinci was not open while we were there and we had to eat at the sushi restaurant or go out. When we ate at the sushi restaurant (and we were the only customers there), the waitress was so bad that I had to get our order and drinks myself at the bar. The woman who made the sushi did do a good job, which was surprising as I used to live in Japan and the San Francisco Bay area and have never seen a woman making sushi before.
They could not get the keys to our car one day as the door to the valet room would not open. Another morning when I went to the casino cashier to turn in some chips the 2 women working in the cage looked at me and turned away and kept on cackling to each other, so I had to go to the front desk to get help.
The dealers and craps teams were very nice and professional.
What a waste and they took $ 50 whole dollars off our bill when we checked out.

This review is for the Spa at the Siena, not the hotel or gaming. When the Siena first opened it advertised it’s spa as a highlight of the property but I never had the opportunity to check it out. Since they’ve reopened a friend of mine suggested we get pedicures together and she had a promotional 2−4−1, so why not? The regular price of their pedicures are $ 60+ and I have to say even at half that price I did not feel it was a good experience.
The facilities are sparse. No sauna, steam room, pool, or anything to enjoy. Suffice to say this isn’t a «day spa» experience like the Atlantis or Peppermill. The bathrooms are decaying and give the impression they are not clean. There was peeling paint and broken tiles everywhere. disgusting. The woman checking us in barely regarded us and only pointed us in the direction of their facilities instead of giving a tour. They have a small dimmed room with some couches, magazines, a fake fireplace, and wine and fruit available while you wait. The wine was sour and both served at room temperature, both red and white. I’m guessing they have been sitting out all day or maybe even all week.
The woman who checked us in turned out to be one of the technicians doing the pedicure. She informed us that they couldn’t find anyone to do our scheduled pedicures so she would begin our treatments until they could locate a technician. She didn’t seem happy about it, and I suspect she wasn’t even trained or licensed. The room they have for the pedicures was almost clinical. Very sparse and not cozy at all. The massage chairs were adequate, typical of asian owned salons. The foot basins were lit up with tacky neon lighting and they drained into an exposed crusty hole in the tile floor, which was pretty gross looking. The pedicure was supposed to come with a scrub, mask, and lotion massage of your choice of frangranced products but we were not offered a choice. The polishes weren’t displayed on a shelf, they just had you pick through a storage bucket. I did not receive any massage in contrast to my friend who got about 10 minutes even though we paid for the same treatment. My polish was a sheer crème which can be difficult to apply smoothly and usually requires 2 – 3 coats. My tech applied one coat (no base was applied) and went tense when I asked her to apply another coat and a top coat. It was still lumpy and uneven so she offered to apply a glitter coat. It looked pretty but started peeling later that same day.
I don’t know how they expect to compete with other casino spas that offer much more luxurious facilities for the same price. They were on par with a mall nail salon in my opinion, except they charge $ 60 instead of $ 20

I don’t know if I would normally have been traveling through Reno if I hadn’t already been going to Burning Man this year. That being said, this is a really nice hotel. And it served as a nice re-​entry into the world after having spent a week in the Black Rock Desert. All our needs were met and then some. A fantastic bed, an amazing shower, and a wonderful meal at the Da Vinci restaurant in the hotel was all I needed to feel refreshed, replenished, and ready to take on the world again. Thank you Siena Hotel. I know we’ll be back again next year.

The woman who greeted us at the concierge desk was extremely friendly and full of jokes and good humor, despite being the sole employee at the desk in a wave of customers, some of them seemingly very demanding and pushy. She made some really generous accomodations for us and moved us to a better room, after she noticed that we’d been initially assigned to a notoriously noisy room. «It’s right by an air vent,» she explained, as she gave us a better one.
The café is meh, but the service was fine, and the food was not awful. And it’s not like there aren’t a whole lot of other food options just down the street, we were just really tired and it was late so we didn’t get to go to the highly-​rated restaurant which we really wanted to try.
The room was clean, comfortable, and nice. No complaints there.
And the valet parking was fantastic. They were prompt, courteous, and careful with the car.

Best Spa in Reno! Really nice «lounge» waiting area with fresh fruit, champagne and little snacks.
The massage therapists are all extremely talented and the spa reminds me of a vegas hotel spa — really nice and really relaxing.

Long story short.
1. Poor customer service — The lady that was to do our nails was really itchy with a «B» at first and instead of us all getting manicures and martini’s at the same time, we had to wait in line to get them done by one person… NOT what we were told over the phone. We were told to be quiet and shushed and told how the ceiling creates echos throughout the place etc. and people were there for the serene atmosphere. Then why id God’s name would you create a place that elicits echos?
2. Because we were all together as a group we were having a good time, but they crammed us into a little 2 person room, SIX of us!
3. They were really overpriced for the poor quality that everyone received. The girls nails were chipping already by that NIGHT and one of them had polish on her cuticles! My ay double «S» could do better and I am a man that has never done it before
4. The great little flip flops that were on sale were awesome!
5. Most of the group went to another place and had pedicures done since they made it ABUNDANTLY clear that we were late to get there and could not get any add on services done. «OH WELL, THEIR LOSS!
6. The martini’s were STRONG but tasted cruddy.
Not the best experience for «Spa» and the next time we are in town, we are heading over to the better priced Vietnamese nail salon.

We booked the Manicures and Martinis package for a bachelorette party which consisted of six people. Our overall experience was fun (basically because we enjoyed each other’s company) but not worth the price. When I called they said we could all stay together and get our maniucures done while drinking martinis, and also use the serinity room at our pleasure. I double checked they would have enough room for us all to stay together and possibly add on other services when we arrived and they assured me the asnwer was yes.
I had called about an hour before our appointment to let them know we were running late. The lady told us it was fine. When we arrived our manicurist greeted us like were were unruly children and was obviously upset with us for being late. I explained to her we had called ahead of time and the person who answered told us it was ok, she said she knew that and the girl would get in trouble… not really the way I want to start off my spa exprience but ok…
Then when we asked about maybe adding a pedicure for one or two of us she said no, she barely had enough time to do our manicures. We realized she was going to be doing ALL 6 OF US, when I asked her about it she said that was why we should have been on time. It was very awkward. She proceeded to show us around and kept telling us we had to be quiet at all times since there were other people getting services, and it was supposed to be a serene environment. (we only saw two other customers while we were there and they had their services done on the other side of the spa). We were all a little annoyed. Then she brought us to a small cramped room which was warm and stuffy, it consisted of two nail stations and a sink. We didn’t all fit so we spilled out into the hallway. There was really no place to set down your martinis down, we felt awkward. We had to keep being told to keep our laughter and chatting down and talk as if we were in a library. She said the walls were thin and we could be heard throughout the spa… let me just say for 6 people we were already being very quiet! They shouldn’t have booked us if they couldn’t accomodate a bachelorette party!
The manicurist eventually warmed up to us and then started getting louder and laughing herself… she stopped telling us to be quiet. After awhile another manicurist showed up to everyones surprise. So things went a little faster. By the end none of us finished our martinis, they were strong but not very good. And all of us had a complaint about our nails. My nail polish had lots of bubbles in it when it dried, most of us had chipped nails by that evening, one girl had polish all over her cuticles. And we paid $ 35 each plus a $ 5 tip.
On top of it all the place pretty much stayed empty the entire time we were there. Guess our inability to laugh wasn’t really necessary, and we could have added other services after all, glad we didn’t though.
The best part of the spa experience was the cute flip flops they had for on sale for $ 5. I think we each got a pair.

So my girlfriend took me upon my request for a simple Reno overnight trip. Used to do it with my buddies and just do a little gambling. Close to SF and not too expensive. But since it was my birthday gf was über nice enough to book us a couples massage. This place was great. We got the room and couples massage package and they suggest you get the 30 minutes prior to your massage. Didn’t understand why but when we got there we realized after you change into your robe they have a nice dimly lit waiting room with fruits cheeses, wine, champagne and tea. Nice way to relax have a nibble and some bubbly. Granted it’s not high super extravagant but it’s super relaxing. For what we paid the experience was awesome.
so we hung out then went into a room where we had our massages and it was a great massage. The Masseuse’s were great. Left a little poorer (from the gambling) but super relaxed and feeling pretty good. Would definitely go back if ever in Reno again. The place is right on the edge of all the other casino’s as well so the location is great.

The local’s discount is great. Have gotten good massages here and good pedis. LOVE the «serenity room» — dimly lit, comfortable sofas, warm neck wraps, teas, lemon-​infused water, juice, and wine/​champagne. Very relaxing and rejuvenating before and after your treatment.

3.5 stars, but I’ll round up. Call it a tip.
The Spa was clean and well-​maintained, and it was easy to book an appointment. The hardest part was deciding which of the special offers to pick: Martinis and manicures? Massage with chocolate and/​or wine tasting? Half-​off the old standard?
Overall, everything was fine. This was also part of the problem. Visually, The Spa looks quite upscale, but in practice it’s more small-​town casual.
* Checking in and out was easy enough, but counter folks were casual and blasé.
* My massage was nice and the masseuse was even nicer, but nothing outstanding or memorable about either.
* It was nice to chill in the relaxation room and have refreshments, but the cheese plate, etc. could’ve used refreshing.
* The merchandise area had a nice selection of products, but not those lovely heated neck pillows from the relaxation room.
* I got lost trying to find my way back to the locker room — would have appreciated signage in the hallways or guidance from the staff.
It’s worth going to The Spa, but don’t pay full price.
