I have been seeing Don since the end of October after having my hair cut by the same person for 25 years. At the first appointment, Don took his time, asked me for my input, and gave a great haircut. He also took notes so that when I came in the next time, he already knew what he was doing. He made some changes at each appointment since then (I go in about every 4 weeks). Now he has it down pat!
Don is conscientious, skilled, and dedicated to providing great service. He takes his time to get it right. I never feel rushed.
The shop also has a fantastic environment – I always get offered a beer or whiskey, the banter is humorous and interactive, and the chairs are comfortable! And the Basement (lower level of the old post office) is a great location.
Finally, the price is right.
I would highly recommend Don to any men seeking a place for a great haircut.

I would highly recommend anyone in need of a Gentleman’s haircut and shave to visit this establishment. I first had to make an appointment to experience the great professionalism they give to their customers. Not only do the offer the best haircut and shave, the free shots are a plus from a local Brewery.
Bottom line for a low price you receive a great experience and leave happy you visited.

I see Josh about once a month to get a haircut. He does a great job and is a cool guy. Haven’t gotten a haircut from Don, but he’s a nice guy and I’ve seen his clients leave the shop looking great. I highly recommend this barber shop.

My second trip to see Don and I really like this place. Great atmosphere in the basement of the old post office. The shop is very comfortable and you get a free shot of whiskey with your cut! Today they had 5 whiskies to choose from, including a very good scotch.
Don is extremely friendly and very conscientious. He works hard to understand what you want and takes his time to make sure he gets it as right as possible. He makes and keeps his appointments — something I really appreciate. In addition to the whiskey you also get a traditional hot lather, straight razor shave on the neck line — very hard to find anymore. And you get all this for only $ 18! This place is a real winner.
They don’t do walk-​ins so call to get an appointment. Be flexible because both Don and Josh are very busy — in fact at the time I publish this Josh is not taking new customers.

Second time’s a charm! Josh reached out to me after my 1^st visits misunderstanding. The owner (Josh) is really cool. Long story short I received a great cut, with top notch service, and great conversation. Gents if you are in Reno make an appointment, and go get your hair taken care of at Beautiful Bearded Man.

Went there for the first time today based off of the previous Unilocal reviews. Was thoroughly impressed and got a great haircut from Josh. Josh is an actual barber, the shop is very clean and classy with a cool vintage feel to it. Finally found a barber I will want to continue going back to, and already made my next appointment. I’m not sure if Josh takes walk-​ins or not, but there is also another barber there, not sure on his name. Appointments are a huge bonus for me as most of the other barber shops in town are walk-​in only. It also didn’t hurt that I got to drink a beer while getting my hair cut.
As far as getting there it says it is a Virginia St. address (which it is), however the best parking is actually off of center street directly across from the Sienna. Remember the building it is in is the old Post Office. The door to get down to «The Basement» is actually right at the old loading docks for the Post Office and you will see «The Basement» signage.

The guys here know how to give a guy a hair cut. Finally I leave a place not looking like Lloyd Christmas. The atmosphere is of a well done barber shop/​whiskey lounge that your buddies will drop their wives salon to go to.

Don was conscientious and thorough, and I left with a great cut. I appreciate the fact that I can make an appointment, so getting my hair cut on my lunch hour is easy. Also, and this is worth noting, I didn’t leave covered in hair so going back to work wasn’t a problem.

I was looking for a place to get a last minute haircut, I think I found my new favorite place to go! Great location, great atmosphere and great staff! I will definitely be a regular customer!
