Lakeridge Golf Course

Terrible service! Tried booking tee time through Lakeridge’s 3^rd party partner GoldNow and they hung up on me twice! Then I called the Lakeridge clubhouse and got Chris and he hung up on me! I called back and he says «sorry I had other customers in front of me» and «we’ve been having phone issues». This is all a bunch of BS. I hope they get it together because this is a decent course, but tolerating bad service when trying to make a tee time is unacceptable.

Nice course. Interesting layout. Only downside was gas carts loud and smelly had a headache from the fumes by the time I was finished playing

This course is amazing. Great views! Before joining any country club you should consider this course! Well maintained. The restaurant is great and service is excellent.

Fantastic job at keeping this Reno gem in great shape. Service was great from booking time to checking in. In the past, the prior owners would have let the course deteriorate and blame the weather or lack of funds… now in one of our worst droughts in 20+ years course is Great… It is really nice to see current owners take pride in presenting a great product at a great Price…

Lakeridge Golf Course is owned and operated by Duncan Golf Management. The Duncan group has done great things since taking over the ownership of Lakeridge Golf Course. The course is and has been in great condition. Lakeridge plays well for all skill levels and ages. My girlfriend Danielle and I have enjoyed our Duncan golf membership being able to play all Duncan’s courses, Wolf Run, Dayton Valley, and especially Lakeridge. This course has some of the best views of Downtown Reno. The 15^th island green hole is it’s iconic hole. When playing the tips or yellow I can easily stick it close to the pin with my 4 iron. If you are looking to play a remember course while visiting Reno I highly recommend this course.

There are a lot of nice courses in Reno, sadly Lakeridge just is not one of them anymore. The course isn’t in great shape and the staff just isn’t that helpful. Today (a Sunday) I saw them out a fivesome in the midst of the day, and I encountered a group of seven in the course today. They were obviously slowing everyone else. I called the shop to complain but absolutely nothing was done. Go play Redhawk instead.

What a great golf course this was.
There were a lot of challenging holes but the most difficult part were the greens.
What looked like straight putts to me ended up being a complete misread.
The greens were deceiving as it tended to break left and right. Either it looked straight or my eyes are bad. Could be both. Either way after a couple of holes I was able to read the green better. Knowing to expect some kind of break on the green definitely helped. The course is very well kept. The fairways were nice and green, the rough wasn’t too rough and the greens were soft.
They have a starter at the first hole who was nice and gave a description of the course. He didn’t mention flag/​hole location that day but after a couple holes I realized it was playing at C. Didn’t see a marshall on the course.
Reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is, the course allowed a couple of 5somes out there and it was a busy day. I could understand if it was a group of 5 that were actually hitting one and going. The groups of 5 that I saw would hit, then tee up another ball and hit again. Every hole from the 1^st on I had to wait. It made for what seemed like a long round. The whole round ened up taking a little over 5 hours which isn’t bad but it’s just the waiting at each hole after finishing the one before became a little tiring. At the 10^th there were 3 groups waiting
The 15^th hole is amazing. I saw all those pics that Donna S. posted and that helped me make up my mind on where to play golf. That hole made all the waiting worth it. Played from the green tees which made it a 220 par 3 according to the scorecard. After lasering it to get a more accurate read it ended up being about 211. Bogeyed. Just the views from this hole makes golfing at Lakeridge all worth it. Maybe I was in awe of the hole or maybe I just suck. Either way don’t care because the 15^th made me forget about it.
Would definitely come back and play again. Maybe next time I will do better.

Love this course just a hair better than Wolf Run. They are entirely different course. Lakeridge’s fairways are lined with MANY large mature trees– which I know can be a challenge for some people. But I love them. It also has more creeks, ponds and a lake to contend with. Some days I have lost up to five balls– I should get little life jackets for the guys. Others days, like today, used the same pink guy all day. Yeah! I love how spread out the course is The front nine is played on both sides of Plumas and the back nine is on the west side of McCarran. The back is my favorite. You start working your way up hill ever so gently til you get to hole 15. Now at 4500 feet you hit to a green on a small island in a large lake, the ride for your life down the switch backs to put it in. Oh ya. I’m assuming you did make the green
The geese and marmot population is pretty healthy there
Nice proshop, driving range, putting and chipping area. They also offer lessons. If you are a gal I strongly suggest you ask for Lindsey– she get trying to swing with boobs in the way
This summer the course is looking fabulous and green Duncan Golf Management is doing another great job

Gorgeous course! What a nice course, I brought my girlfriend her and she couldn’t get over how nice it was. It was hot but it was worth it to play this course. There are a few really fun shots over water, and a crazy island hole that you just have to see to take in completely. The carts are nice with a cooler with waters in it and USB ports to charge you phone or maybe plug in some portable speakers. There are squirrels, ducks, and marmots all over which my girlfriend also loved. Some of the fairways are a little tight but the rough isn’t too hard to hit out of. Greens are nice, fairways are nice, and the pars always feel real because it’s a long hard course. So playing well here is really satisfying.
This course is expensive if you aren’t finding deals to play on it but man is it nice. You really see where the extra money goes on a course like this one. So when I play this course I really soak it all in. Play this course at least once if you can. It’s worth it!

Our NCGA associate club played the course about a month ago. We’ve played it many times through the years on our annual Reno trip. The course is in great shape (4 star) & as good as I’ve ever seen it, but buyer beware, especially for tournament play. The course changed management between the time we did the tourney contract & when our club played there. Long story short, they would not honor the contracted rate which made me have to contact each player right before the trip & ask them for more money. Then at the 11^th hour the course informed me they actually didn’t have our deposit. In the end, they took our (non-​profit) club for the $ 300 deposit. I asked the director of sales /​tourney contact more than once if we could apply the deposit to future trips or find some other way to get it back & nothing came of it. We will not be returning to Lakeridge or the other courses DGM manages ever again. We can’t afford to lose 1 dollar & now have to figure out how to recoup 300 of them. That stinks!

Had a great time there in June with ‘The Duffers’ club out of the SF/​Bay Area — played another game the next day after that tournament ended with a partner as we liked it so much. Unfortunately, lost my Sky Caddy, didn’t realize it for several days, called Lakeridge, (evidently left in the cart), and was returned to me with no shipping charge to CA. Thanks for having such a nice, well maintained course, and additionally, thanks for having a considerate staff. Looking forward to playing there again !!!

What a beautiful course! All the staff was very friendly from the club valet, cart washer, the gal on the food wagon and the people in the pro shop. My only complaint is the cart trail is a little rough. One of the best places to play in Reno.

Alright, so I want to preface everything I’m about to say by stating the fact that this is a very nice course that is well laid out and all around beautiful. I only wish I could have gotten to enjoy the round that I played there…
I had an 8:05 a.m. tee time yesterday morning. I live an hour and a half away from this course, and wanted to get there early to hit some balls, so I left my house to pick up friends at 5:30 a.m., grabbed some coffee and headed on over. Got checked in, and got out on the course and teed off at 8:13. Everything was going great. There was a 3-​some ahead of my 4-​some, and then another 4-​some that teed off behind us. Naturally, having one less person, the 3-​some in front of us moved a bit quicker than we did, but not by much. We were playing at a pretty quick rate, and were actually playing pretty well (which is a small miracle in and of itself). Well around hole 6 or 7, up drives the marshal. We all stop and say hello, and the first words out of this clown’s mouth are «So, you guys must be having a pretty rough day.» Ummm, excuse me? Everything the guy said was in a totally condescending tone and it was obvious he couldn’t have cared less about what kind of experience we were having that morning. He then went on to say that we needed to play faster because the 3-​some in front of us were now a hole and a half ahead. Well OF COURSE they are! They have 1 less person than we do! We were on pace for getting through 9 holes in an hour and forty minutes, but nonetheless, we didn’t want to argue so we agreed to skip the hole we were on, and close the gap with the 3-​some in front of us.
We finished the front 9 in an hour and thirty-​eight minutes, and as we drove back past the starter to make the turn, we stopped to talk to him about our experience with the marshal, and despite having no choice but to agree that we were playing at an above average pace, the starter said, «We have 200 other golfers we have to get out here today, so you guys have to speed it up.» Translation: we don’t care how far you drove, how much you paid, or what kind of experience you walk away from here with today, we are going to push through as many people as we can. Totally unacceptable. Myself and my group were planning on playing two rounds there that day, but once we finished our rush through 18, we left and went to Washoe Golf Course to play our second round. The steep decline in course quality was well worth the ability to actually enjoy playing a round of golf.

alas the venerable 19^th Hole restaurant above the course, hidden in the trees, has had a drastic makeover. Gone are the warm booths and friendly old school waitresses that knew your name and drink. The place has been sterilized. It’s like eating on a dance floor now. Vinyl floor, smaller menu. You can get a decent hamburger and salad. The bartender is friendly. That aren’t too sure how it all works yet. Another warm friendly secret of Reno has disappeared however.

This course is in great shape, better than most totally private golf clubs. The greens were inconsistent and without local knowledge you can lose 4 – 6 strokes on these greens due to speed differences, and all the greens broke to the east regardless of the slope. This course would have received 5 stars if the course marshal had no let a five some back up the entire course for the last 6 holes.

Save and except Montreux, a fully private club, Lakeridge is the finest golf experience in the Reno area. If you enjoy «parkland» golf, you will not find a superior public course in Northern Nevada. The trees are mature and enormous, the greens are tricky but true and the groundskeepers consistently keep the course in finer condition than any course in the area (save, again, Montreux).
As for the administration of the course, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the tournament programs are terrific, and the green fees are a bargain for such a well kept course.
Play this course.

This is our favorite course in Reno, we play every time we are in town. This course is very forgiving and you don’t have to be a long hitter to enjoy. I must say their signature hole #15 is a site to see. The island green surrounded by an unnatural colored water is awesome especially from the tips. Take extra balls for this hole.

Came here expecting to pay 70 dollars for a 2pm tee time on a saturday. It was a wonderful surprise to find out they lowered their rate to 49 dollars starting july 1^st. Also we had come a little early to hit up the driving range but they werent busy so they let us start. The course itself is nice. Hands down the highlight is hole 15. Absolutely gorgeous, and definitely makes this course worth playing.

If you are visiting Reno and planning to golf, then you must play here. The course is slightly more expensive $ 85/​$ 70/​$ 45 depending on morning/​twilight/​late than the other municipal courses in Reno, however Lakeridge is worth the price difference. Included in the green fees is the cart. The cart is one of the coolest I’ve ever seen, it includes: GPS locator for distance to the hole (though I often overshot the distance that was being displayed (might be due to the thin air); ball/​club washer, and ICE CHEST with ice — perfect for keeping your brew cold. There is a lady that drives around selling snacks/​beer along the way.
The course itself is slightly advanced. Lots of water/​bunkers. Greens are well-​maintained. There are some super short Par 4’s and super long Par 3’s. Hole 15^th is a beautiful, ball eater, island green with about 150 ft downhill elevation at 239 yards or so. This hole is their signature hole.
The only negative about this facility was the driving range, which is not ideal as you hit uphill. Could not really test how the ball was flying.

If you want a challenging course with well maintained greens Lakeridge would be a perfect fit. The course is little pricey although they do run deals for locals. The front nine is straight forward and pretty easy. The back nine is in the hills and features the 15^th island green. I wouldn’t recommend this course for the 20+ handicap golfer.
Besides Montreux these are the best greens in Reno.
