Big Shot Indoor Range

Over visiting from London and checked this place out, cannot recommend it enough, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and you can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do. They were more than happy to recommend guns for first time shooters and as we got more adventurous and tried the full autos they made sure to give us the guidance we needed. Best $ 200 I spent on the whole trip and would suggest checking this place out for an afternoon of fun!

I’ve been to the Big Shot range a few times. In the reno area you have the option of this one, the new reno indoor range, and the outdoor Washoe county range. I chose this one because it was the cheapest indoor range option. I was trying to decide between two different pistols, so I rented both of them for a test drive. It really helped me make a final decision on what to buy. The range isn’t very new, and is quite short range, but it’s adequate. The prices are straight forward and ammo is reasonable, or you can bring your own as long as its brass cased. You rent your lane and there is no time limit. They have shooting glasses and earmuffs to rent if you need to. They also sell a wide variety of targets you can put on your automatic target stand of your lane. This range rents a wide variety of standard guns as well as full auto and exotic ones. It can be pretty distracting when the person next to you is shooting a full auto Tommy gun however. If you want to spend the extra money you can go to the new reno indoor range, but Big Shot has everything you need in a gun range.

great place to do your practice indoors! I did my CCW testing here and it was packed! and this was of course on a Saturday night, but the flow of traffic here was steady, at least you can view the shooters and see the fancy guns that are used. I will say that there is one thing they can use and that is more new safety glasses, you should bring your own gear but they do the best they can to supply what you forget to bring so eventually next time I go I will be making a donation of new glasses !

Discount for Law Enforcement and Military, winner in my book. But seriously it’s a simple range. I have a business myself that has appointments and we do walk-​ins. Reading on here about someone complaining about reservations is ridiculous. Businesses lose money when people reserve a lane and don’t show up. What’s so hard to understand about first come first served? It’s like me calling In-​N-​Out burger and reserving my seat… Then I read someone complaining about waiting 5 mins while there was 30 people there… People like you don’t deserve to be on a range except may be at the receiving end. Anyways. Been here multiple times. Taken family and friends here. Customer service is always prompt. Just had my weapons clean. Picking up them today and don’t know how well of a job they did but I have confidence otherwise I’ll voice my opinion with the manager before I do another review.

I have never shot a gun before, but my husband and I have been thinking about buying one so we wanted to see what it was like shooting one. We came here the staff and owner was very knowledgeable about guns and took their time with us making sure we were comfortable and safe with the rules before we started. It was a memorable experience we will definitely come back.

I use to like going to this facility. They are still a pretty good indoor shooting facility but I was trying to use the military discount and they were a little weird about it. I even had a few interesting comments about breaking my bank for using the military discount. If you go to the range every couple of days or so and purchase ammo at your location I wouldn’t say things like that. I would say the staff needs training in customer service especially about not alienating your customs. I wished I didn’t have to lower my rating for this place because I was starting to like this facility. But those to times I went in there I was made to feel like I don’t rate a military discount and for that I will not come back to this place. Also I wasn’t very sure if it was active duty military or veteran. Now it wasn’t very specific. Anyways just disappointed in the situation. In the future there should a better way to handle that situation. I feel like the cashier did not handle it well. It just made me feel awkward and unappreciated. Also by no means do I want a hand out but I usually ask for military discounts. Especially if they post it on a sign because I am a veteran. Well thanks for reading my review I hope this helps.

Never EVER again! What a junkie, dirty, uncomfortable, dark, unhelpful place! This was the first time I had ever been to an indoor shooting range, and after going to another one in town, EEEEEEEK!!! I will never be back to this one. I would give them Zero Stars if possible.
Here’s the story… I wanted to surprise a friend of mine that came in town. So we popped in to see what it was about. WHOA! There must have been 30 people in there… all of whom I would not see my self becoming great friends with, eating small plates and sipping wine, if you know what I mean ;). Most of the building is painted that flat black color. It looks like it was thrown together with no thought of comfort or consideration for the client. There is limited seating and not very much space.
After about 5 Minutes of waiting at the counter the employee asked if he could help us. I mentioned we wanted to do some shooting.(I had called prior to see if we needed a reservation. Nope… was the answer on that) He didn’t have anything available for about an hour. How about a reservation, I suggested «We don’t take no reservations. First come», he said. (I am serious. I cant make this stuff up!) I asked if there was another someplace in town he might recommend, he said «Nope, don’t know no other ones in town». So with that. I took my money and my friend and left.
I was so glad that they were not able to accommodate us because we were able to find an awesome, clean, bright, perfect indoor shooting range just a few miles away by the Harley Shop. Thanks Unilocal for helping us find it!

What a great place! I’ve been here a lot, but not anytime recently. The visits were all last year, 2014. It’s my goal to get back there in 2016.
The facility is easy to find and parking is plentiful. I’ve never seen it super packed. I’ve gone on weekends, and nights after work. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and was just starting to recognize who I was before I stopped going.
The range fee when I was going was reasonable, $ 10 for the lane, no time limit. Ammo prices were standard for either buying it there or elsewhere. I’ve never rented a gun to shoot so I don’t know the prices on that, as I’ve had my own 9 mm I’d bring with. Targets to shoot are $ 1.
My first few visits came on a «virgin» experience, as I had never gone to a range before. I thought the place was cool and the one set of lanes to shoot were neat. Then, after visiting a range in Vegas, I really hope that Big shot can expand to accommodate what I saw. Currently (or at least last time I went) there was no separation of automatic weapons (all the lettered kind AK AR etc) and hand guns, so the noise, even through ear protection was a little distracting. The Vegas range had separate lane areas for the different weapons, which made it really nice.
Overall, I really like this place, and will definitely go back :) I’m a little out of practice anyway and need to get back in the habit!

I liked this range. Nice decent price and once you pay lane there’s no limit. The range I been to in California you have hour for double rate I paid here. Targets are cheaper. And ammo cheaper. Seen there rentals nice selection. Wife tried out 22 loved it. First time shooting and like her gun. Overall great range. I’m make it my usual range.

This place is freaking awesome! Lots of rentals to choose from… handguns, rifles, all calibers…
We rented a few different ones, including Glock 9 mm, AK-​47, AR-​15, and shotgun. Next time, we will be sure to rent the uzi and DE.
Prices are very reasonable!
Cassidy helped us out the whole time! She took the time to educate and explain each gun to us and even showed us various kinds of ammo. She is very courteous, knowlegeable, and professional and provided the friendliest customer service ever!
Overall, an excellent experience! Can’t wait to come back!

Stopped by to blow off some steam, got the basic machine gun package for 99.00 got to shoot a m4, uzi, Thompson, shotgun and desert eagle .50 ca. Had so much fun I bought a couple more mags for the m4.
The staff was very nice, will definitely come back.

1^st off a big THANKS to Ryan for getting me and my boys to the outdoor range this weekend! We had a GREAT, safe time. Being from California, we don’t get to shoot full auto or the big guns. Made the trip to Reno and 1^st stop was Big Shot range to confirm everything for Saturday morning. The gals at the shop were awesome and super friendly too! Thanks ladies. Could easily give Big Shot 10 stars!
Met Ryan at the outdoor range at 9am. He provided a run down of the weapons we would be shooting and got us going. Started off with the 9 mm Uzi, then to the 45cal tommy gun, M4, saiga 12 gauge, dessert eagle hand cannon and finished the morning off with the Barrett 50cal! Holy hell did we have a blast! No pun intended. Nothing like shooting and hitting a target 500 yards away. Bragging rights for sure! Next trip to Reno, I will be back for sure! If you haven’t been, what the hell are you waiting for?

This was my very first time ever at a shooting range and I really liked it. I had a really good experience here at Big Shot Indoor Range. The staff members were all friendly and helped me get started since it was my first time. I came here on a Saturday evening and there were a good amount of people there, but my group still managed to get two lanes without having to wait.
It’s a pretty cool place where you only have to pay a $ 10 dollar fee for unlimited range time. Also, you are allowed to bring in your own gun and ammo. If you do, you’re going to have to clear out your gun when you first step through the doors and place it in a clear plastic bin and then bring it over to the counter. Or you can rent out one of their guns and buy their ammo at a very reasonable price. The good thing about renting guns is that you get to try different guns.
Overall, I definitely recommend this place especially if this is your first time at a shooting range.

It was my first time shooting a pistol and rifle. They made the process very simple very detailed in the introduction of how to handle the weapon.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, you can definitely tell they love their weapons.
You can pretty much rent whatever you like and shoot as many bullets as possible.
For three people one handgun and one rifle it came out to $ 102 with ammunition.

What a fun date! I went today with my hubby to practice my aim with a couple of our guns. How cool is it that they let you practice with your own guns, and bring your own ammo? I loved it. I’ve never been to indoor range and this was a great experience.
We cleared our guns at the door and brought them in a plastic bin to the counter. The employees were very kind and knowledgeable. I felt safe, which I feel is very important especially in that type of environment. We got some targets and the employee took our bin into the range. It was way louder than I expected (Duh, what did I expect from a lot of guns going off at once.) Thank God for ear protection!
The employee went over the safety instructions and we got started shooting. We had a lot of fun! When we were done, the employee came back and got our guns. We checked out and we were on on way. With my review I’m posting prices :)

This place keeps getting better and better. Looks like they are making some great improvements.
I was there when they opened the other day and that is my most favorite time to go. I prefer to be a lone shooter so in the beginning of the day is the best.

Myself and 6 other guys went to Big Shots this past Saturday and had an absolute blast! We rented 4 guns, and split the ammo for each. If you have never shot a fully automatic gun before, this is the place to do it! The owner is very knowledgeable of all his guns, their differences and doesn’t mind helping you choose which to shoot. They also have a diverse selection of rifles and handguns — including a desert eagle .50.
This was our first time there, and my only suggestion to Big Shot, is ask if people have been there before. We were not entirely familiar with their process, but everything worked out in the end. Great atmosphere, no pressure, no hassles.
